Yes TCU you are to be Congratulated but not No. 1 this year...Horns are great but even the loser of the Fla. vs Alabama should still be above TCU. Lots of 12-0's this year....Heisman? McCoy all the way!

'Bama showed some serious vulnerabilities yesterday, Florida looked like they could score any time they wanted to. Are FSU and Auburn comparable? Probably not, but Florida looked like they were clicking on all cylinders and look to be peaking at the right time. This is potentialy very bad news for Alabama. That said next Saturday should be one whale of a game.

Florida as #1? Sure defending champs and haven't lost yet. Tebow for Heisman, maybe, but his year has been no where near as good as previous ones and there have been other more productive more impact players. That said I sure wouldn't complain if he did win it. He did take the team on his shoulders last year after their loss and carried them through to a National Championship and now an undefeated regular season this year.

It's simple. Florida is the defending champs and until someone beats them, they should remain #1. As for T.C.U. this is why it's ridiculous that there is no playoff! Baseball, Basketball, hockey and every other college sport including Division 1AA and Division 2 football have it. It's a travesty and unfair to teams like T.C.U. and Boise State who should at least get a shot in a playoff system.

No kidding why can every other division have a Playoff system and yet Div 1 can't? Makes no sense except for protecting the money of the Bowl System.

If you don't know the difference between FSU and Florida I'm not really sure you know enough about college football to express an opinion. It is obvious that TCU is good but they have not played anyone like those strong teams that Florida, Alabama and Texas have beaten.

Arguing strength of schedule favors TCU over Texas. TCU beat three ranked teams this season, Texas only one. That doesn't seem to get much media attention.

In my opinion, college football is the purest of the team sports before the taint of big contracts and big money. But, like all team sports there has to be a team leader and selfless cohesion between the players and the leader. I have never seen before or so enjoyed watching the FL Gators and the leadership of Tim Tebow as their QB. This young man, without being perfect, guided, pushed, and carried his team to a 12-0 season this year and 22 wins in a row, while helping to win a National Championship, and a Heisman Trophy during his career. All of this while doing missionary work in the summers. What an inspiration!

You have watched an ESPN media campaign that projected Tebow as the greatest quarterback to ever play. The media shows Tim crying, Tim making speeches, Tim doing missionary work, Tim doing this, Tim doing that. Question: How did all those cameras just happen to be with Tebow when he did all these things? Happenstance? Coincidence? ESPN and its big money contract with a media TV giant follow Tim around everywhere he goes to document everything good Tim has done. Tim knows these cameras are there. Tim has to approve of this for the cameras to be there. He may be a very good kid who does great things, but he is also a media whore because he allows all those cameras to follow him around. His ego is off the charts. Humility has never crossed this kid's mind.

Colt McCoy went to Peru two years in a row doing missionary work, but he didn't make sure the cameras were there like Tim did. Colt is a class act, full of humility, and every bit the leader that you consider Tebow to be. Colt guided his teams to two 12-0 seasons back to back and is the WINNINGEST QB IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY and was second in voting for the Hesiman trophy last year. Only a third tie-breaker rule that allowed Oklahoma to play for the MNC, even though Texas beat Oklahoma head-to-head, kept Colt from playing in last year's national championship game.

Through it all, Colt has remained the same humble small-town boy-to-man, not seeking out the cameras like Tebow has. It will be a travesty if Tebow wins the Heisman over Colt. Colt has had the better season, better stats, and has the highest percentage for completions ever in college football history. He is the best player in college football this season.

The facts don't lie but the media does. One talking head had The Tebow Legend as its top story. Legend? He's not even the winningest QB in college football history, much less a legend! He wasn't even the best QB this year. Legend? Does Tebow win the Heisman because he paints Bible verses on his face in black? He needs to let the world know how religious he is by doing that? Oh, and the cameras pan his face to see which Bible verse he has painted on his face. Hmm. Might Tim figure out the TV will broadcast his face and verse? Yes, he knows that and that's why he is a media whore. I don't make fun of religion or faith. But I know what I see is totally for the cameras. He's a media whore and that should not be the reason he wins the Heisman. In fact, that should be the reason for him not to win it. Free advertising from ESPN. Wow! I'm impressed.

you could substitute Colt McCoy's name in your description and it would be the same. He also has led his team to 12-0, also does missionary work in the summers and now he holds the record for most career wins by a college GB ever!! Texas will be at the Rose Bowl and Colt should win the Heisman this year!!!

Hornbacker, I totally agree with you! I can not stand how the media portrays Tebow as a "Saint". He is very much a media whore and a little crybaby. I mean who cries on national TV after losing one football game. That is ridiculous. I hope Ingram gets the heisman, but if it came down to McCoy and Tebow, I would very much pick McC!oy. Tebow will get his in the SEC championship. Bama will roll all over him :) REVENGE AT ITS FINEST! Roll MF Tide!

TCU will need some luck to play for the national championship. I would like to see TCU play teams like OU, Texas, Florida and Alabama. Thats really the only way to see how good they really are. Beating teams like New Mexico, Texas State, SMU, CSU, Air Force, Wyoming, Utah, UNLV SDSU is not exactly a tough schedule. The level of football in the SEC and the Big 12 is a lot higher.

I would love to see a TCU-Florida National Championship game! Congrats Horned Frogs on an awesome season. Hitobita - I find it interesting that you doubt TCU's strength of schedule, when you forget that Florida played schools like Charleston Southern, Troy, Kentucky, and FIU. Texas played Baylor, UCF, UTEP, ULM, and Wyoming. Alabama played FIU, Tennessee - Chattanooga, North Texas, and on and on.

Get rid of this automatic bid crap and put a playoff system in place, then we will see if some of these other powerhouses (Boise State, Utah, BYU, Cincy, etc) are as good as they repeatedly seem to be.

It is hard not to click against inferior teams. Tebow has beat no one this year. If Bama can't beat him the horns will.

Well, the SEC only went 3-4 against ranked teams from other conferences: Georgia Tech was 2-1 against the SEC this year, Oklahoma State was 1-0, and so was Houston. The SEC took on no one from the Big 10, no one from the Mountain west, etc. You "proved yourselves" against the likes of Charleston Southern, Tennessee Tech, Florida Atlantic, Western Kentucky, Louisiana-Monroe, Rice, Northern Arizona, Louisiana-Lafayette, North Texas, Ball State, Missouri State, and Middle Tennessee. I'm very impressed.

But the real Question is whi deserves another at large spot Iowa, Penn State, BYU, Miami, Boise State. But If Texas loses to Nebraska or Cincinnati lose to Pitt. Then the at large spots will be snaped up. I Like in this case Nebraska, BYU and Iowa but you can't get what you want.

We Need more BCS bowls until we get a play off. One Auto matic bid for Every Conf. even like the Sun Belt or MAC that would be ten bowls and would give every one a chance. Independents need a to join a conf. or they won't get in. Ten Bowls a fair round number 20 teams.

Alabama blanked Auburn last year 36-0 and looked unstopable going into the SEC Championship game then lost to both Florida and Utah.

Florida had a great game against a worthy opponent. The Gator's also weren't tested and didn't learn anything from the game.

Texas struggled to put away A&M just as Alabama struggled to win against Auburn. Where was Texas' defense?

One thing I know about Alabama this year is the team has play makers and every time the team needed someone to come up big someone did in all three phases of the game. Cody, Ingram, Jones, Arenas. The Tide is mature, consistent and executes well even when the pressure is on, in fact the Tide seems to execute better when under pressure. I've seen Bama coime away with only field goals when the defense sets the offense up inside the opponents 40 yard line. I've seen Bama begin drives inside their own 40 yard line, take 5-10 minutes off the clock and come away with touchdowns. I don't question Bama's ability to compete, my only question is Alabama's depth due to Ingram's injury. So while Alabama's performance in a very hostile environment doesn't appear impressive, if Alabama can correct the two defensive problems which lead to 14 Auburn points, the Tide will be a monster of an opponent for any team while playing at any location.

It'll take a heroic effort because Florida is a heroic team and their opponent in the BCS championship game will be just as tough as Florida but I'm picking Bama to run the table. There are a lot of similarities between this team and the 1992 team.

                                          Roll Tide!

The SEC teams mostly seem to take pride in playing each other plus the Little Sisters of the Poor all year. As of last week here's how the FBS conferences stacked up in the polls:

                                                Pac-10: 5 ranked teams

                                                Big 10: 4 ranked teams

                                                ACC: 4 ranked teams

                                                Mountain West: 3 ranked teams

                                                SEC: 3 ranked teams

                                                Big 12: 2 ranked teams

                                                Big East: 2 ranked teams

                                                C-USA: 1 ranked team

                                                WAC: 1 ranked team

Yet you smug SEC fans berate all those conferences with more ranked teams than yours. Perhaps you're more like the Big 2 and the Little 10?

                                                BJ,

Georgia just beat Georgia Tech . South Carolina just beat Clemson. And these are two unranked second tier SEC teams this year. Bama smacked Virgina Tech early.

The SEC has two legitimate national title contenders. No conference has done that for years. That's why the rest of the conference is not ranked high. They lost to Bama and Florida! They both could beat Texas, but we will never know. LSU , Tennessee, Georgia and Auburn are having "off years". Even a very strong SEC team could have 2 or 3 conference losses by the time the year is over. Unlike the BIG 10, to be champion of the SEC, you have to beat the other best team. Hence, Florida VS Bama.

I would like to see Florida especially pick up at least one really strong non-conference game such as Notre Dame or USC or Penn State. Scheduling is a tricky business. Yesterday Illinois lost to number 5 Cincinnati. This game was scheduled years back to give Illinois a "pastsy game" before their bowl bid. Guess what, it was no pastsy game and Illinois is home for the holidays.

yea the reason the SEC has only 3 is because there are so many quality teams that throughout the season, it is hard to win against other SEC teams. Unlike the big ten and the pack 10, the SEC actually plays descent teams. The pack 10 and big 10 do not play anyone.. Last year when the Big Ten went to the national championship, Florida controlled every aspect of the game. Depending on who wins the SEC championship, will determine who wins the National Championship. Either way, it will be an SEC team.

Tebow deserves all the kudos he gets. Hornbacker sounds like a naysayer. He needs to let go of the "doom and gloom" and appreciate people for what they are without having to tear them down, maybe to get them to his level?

Doom and gloom?? SO because he is stating facts about a very humble young man who does EXACTLY the same things as Tim Tebow (just doesn't publicize them) it makes it a bad thing? I am so sick of seeing people hold Tebow in such high standards.

Colt McCoy is just as good a quarterback as Tebow just doesn't get as much press. And if Tebow was such a good "Christian" like he professes he is...than he wouldn't have to keep pressing about all his wonderful charity work. He could learn a thing or two about humility from McCoy. So please...don't call it "doom and gloom" if someone is stating fact about some one OTHER than Tebow..

OOOOOHHHHH!You are clearly a Gator hater and VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY JEALOUS of Tim Tebow.WHY?Ow,I know...because he is the most popular, most likeable, lovable(but most hated by Gators haters like you)and most handsome college quarterback. And that is the reason why cameras are following him around with or without his permission. That is what they do to popular people...now you get it?

Tebow for Heisman. He is the best player and the best leader by far in the nation. If the Heisman was for best passer, I would vote for Colt McCoy, but it's not.

It's actually a shame about the Oklahoma QB. Bradford was also a great passer, but we saw what happened when he played Tebow and the Gators.

Sits in front of the PC and googles little Timmy and watch's him on You Tube. Can't wait to see what she will do now that little Timmy boy lost the game to Alabama.. WOO HOOO..... glad someone finally kicked their butts. Maybe she needs to visit Timmy boy in person. Then maybe this kick with him will finally be over. Whomever said it was right.. she is a fan of Timmy, not the team.
