Give Boise State a chance!
I love the Hawks....they find ways to win! Stanzi throw 5 INT and they still win by 18! The Ducks by 27 over USC.....dont count them out either....
5 interceptions against a complete nobody team and they deserve a shot at the national championship?
Makes as much sense as annoiting a team simply because they happen to be in a conference called sec, and no other good reason!
where the last 3 national champions came from.....not much more than that
SEC...Where REAL football is played. Iowa...Boise State...Cincinnati....creame puff wannbe's at best.
Bring Florida, Boise freakin' State, Alabama...whatever. Bring it. Texas is ready to crush anyone it plays. UT should for sure be the #1 Team in the country.
UT D?...stands for DOMINATE!!!
Hook Em'
We were hoping to see Texas in the NC game last year but you bailed on us at the last minute......promise you will be there this year?
Go Gators!
Is it tu.....Gig Em!!!!!!!!
texas all the way!~!
Iowa gets a bad rap because of the close wins - I think it enhances their status; highly ranked teams are special targets of each opponent. I still have little confidence that we will get a true national title game this year; the Big Conference Swindle continues.
the real championship will be played....fla v. texas
gators #1
When LSU rolls into next Saturdays game against Bama and comes away with a win look out for them Tigers. Geaux Tigers
Wouldn't have voted for my Gators until last night. They have finally earned the No. 1 spot. Bring on Alabama & Texas!
TCU - better than most people think. Plus they have Jermey Kerley - go Hutto.
I LOVE MY GATORS and Tim Tebow.Gators is #1 no matter what the Gators haters say...GO GATORS!
Texas will crush Florida.......Florida can be the unranked teams....but will struggle mightily against the big guns of Texas.
Your theory is ridiculous. They beat the #4 team at the time 2 weeks ago. Did you forget about LSU. Who has Texas beaten? They barely even beat Oklahoma without Bradford. Texas will lose again and Florida will be #1.
WHy would last nights Gator game change your mind. Georgia is unranked and terrible. No different win than Troy, Charleston and soon to be Florida International. When LSU beats Alabama and Alabama beats Florida in the SEC CG we'll see what kind of kohunies the BCS has.
if lsu beats alabama then wins out florida will play lsu in sec championship. florida will beat them again and return to natl champ game. how do you like that scenario?
MikeFla did you forget the score when LSU played the gatoretts. We have your number so there will be no repeat. The Tigers are getting better each and every week. LSU will win the SEC championship the we will tame the longhorns.
You're dreaming again, Geaux Tigers.....just like you were a few weeks ago in Death Valley when the Gators left you whining.
no lsu lost by 10 in baton rouge......if you cant win there you wont in atlanta. if you believe otherwise you're simply delusional
Mike you only won by 7 points not ten. Now that we are using Sheppard in our offense more, it will not be a repeat LSU will beat your Gators
Hey KenGo Tigres...Bevo loves to play with little kittys!! lsu, florida whatever. Texas WILL win with the most dominate D in College Ball. Not to mention a QB that should have won the Heisman by now.
Opposing QB's BEWARE!! UT D will kick your ass!
Rob Scan! Bite me! You as well as the rest of the nation knows who should have represented last year...WE WILL BE THERE!
volfan-1448134! a&m sucks! Enjoy the few big wins. That crap ain't happen 11/26. Anyway, who do you think softened up tech QB? UT D!!!
Hook Em'
The BCS is all about money.....money, money money......schools have to pay those outragious salaries .
and walmart has significant advantages over mom and pop shops.....thats life!
There you are ...a Gators hater!Just keep hating and we will thank you for it someday.
These polls become bigger BU**SH*T as each week goes by! If Iowa were in the sec or pac 10, they would be ranked 4 or 5 spots higher with the exact same record that they have compiled.
Come on - The TCU Frogs will take on anyone, anytime - TCU #1!!
Take one anyone, yeah I'm sure they would...now win against anyone? Nope, not a chance against these others listed.
All polls are fixed to various degrees... we will never know who's number one until a playoff system is established and that won't happen because "money talks." In the mean time, GO TEXAS!
A playoff system would not be any better. If there were 8 teams in a playoff, #1 would play #8, #2 would play #7, and so forth. When a #1 team was upset by a #8 team, fans would whine that it was a fluke. And how many fans would really call a #7 team the best team if it happened to win out to beat a #2 team which it lost to in the regular season? Look at the NFL.....it's not always the best team which wins, usually just the one which survives the playoffs. Look at the college basketball system.....is the winner of the tournament really the best team? Again, usually just the survivor who played most games well, but had a few lucky breaks and possibly an easier bracket. A playoff system is not any better than the voting system.....just different.
I totally agree with Rob. I love to wear my Louisville 2009 NCAA basketball championship shirt around town. Since they were the #1 team at the start of that farce tournament held each year, they are the rightful national champion. That fluke loss to Michigan St should have no bearing on the rankings. Once I explain this reasoning, many people agree that Louisville is the true national champ and N Carolina just got lucky. Idiot!
Texas soundly throttled a top 20 team on Saturday night and showed how good their defense is. They should be ranked #1 but will have to wait until the BCS championship game to claim #1!
Florida and Texas have a weak non-conference schedule; at least 'Bama played Va. Tech. There are teams out west that play football; remember Utah- Alabama? Wouldn't Boise State - Texas be a fun game to see? Ah, well, we're gonna get the 'gators and the 'horns on Jan. 7
Yes, that powerhouse VT team which lost at home to unranked NC. It's equivalent to Florida playing Florida State.
texas v. florida....what the nation wants
Texas beat Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Missouri, and Oklahoma State. That's four teams that have been nationally ranked this year, including the current No. 20 and No. 18 plus another team (Texas Tech) in the top 30 in both the current AP and UPI polls. Florida beat No. 9 LSU. Alabama beat Virginia Tech (currently ranked anywhere from No. 22 to No. 24) in the first game of the season, and hasn't played anyone in the top 30 since then. It's too early to sympathize with 'Bama's tough schedule usnitl after they've played LSU and the SEC championship game.
Yes, every one of the undefeated teams, including Texas, have had some cupcakes on their schedules, but I agree that Texas' schedule, and record against several very good teams, stands up as a tougher road than any of the other highly ranked teams out there. They are getting stronger and more complete week by week and they have last years Texas Tech loss to fuel their fire. They've just won 3 in a row on the road against OU, Mizzou and OK State. Their defense is every bit as tough as Florida's and Alabama's and they've scored 9 special teams and defensive TD's. Because of that, by the way, McCoy and company have had far fewer offensive snaps than they might have since it "cost" them 9 offensive series during the season and hastened the first team's departure to the bench during blowouts. Despite that they lead the nation in scoring and rush defense. The rest of their schedule will be little more than confidence-building, fine tuning and piling up stats for all of the individual awards they will win. Both Florida and Alabama have struggled against weak opponents. Texas' only close call was a tough win against an excellent Oklahoma team, with McCoy sick and with an injured thumb. Looking at the overall body of work, Texas has put together the strongest case for being ranked #1. They'll prove it in January in Pasadena.
Texas is a prima donna. Always has been. OU without Bradford and OSU without Bryant? Luckily UT had folks in striped suits to seal the deal. There non-conference schedule is a joke. UL-Monroe, UTEP, and UCF? Laughable. Play a real schedule Mack and quit whining.
