DeAngelo Hall returned a fumble 32 yards for a touchdown to end the first half, and the Washington Redskins needed an end-of-game penalty to hold off the Dallas Cowboys 13-7 Sunday night.
Redskins corral Cowboys in thrilling, odd finish

An epic win by a bad team over an even worse team. Dallas fans are going to have to drink themselves out of this rut.
A perfect example of the difference between a good coach and a bad one; if the coaches switched teams the cowboys would've won by 3 touchdowns. I don't know how Jerry Jones can put up with this guy with just winning 10 or 11 games a year and lose in the first round of playoff, they have so many good players to go much further. Even with the mistakes they made in this game, they should have scored more than 7 points, it is not the redskins' defense, it is the stupid cowboys offense and their coaching staff not knowing what to do all game long..
HA ha. I love it.
Someone help me out with the end of the game. It used to be it could never end on a penalty. If Washington declines the penalty the touchdown stands and they may lose. If they accept the penalty then the ball is 10 yards back with one play left.
When did this change?
PS: I have lived to watch the Cowboys lose, so I can live with the result.
The rule is that you can't end the game on a defensive penalty. This is was an offensive penalty with the time ran out, the game ends.

The redzone is like kryptonite to the Cowboys. The cowboys were second in the league last year in offense, but only 14th in points scored, and they started this season by dominating the redskins on yardage, first downs, time of possession, etc. but still ended up losing the game. Like Ham White said, cowboys fans are going to need a lot of alcohol to get thru this season (I know, I am one of them :-()
I've said it before and I'll say it again............ Tony Romo is maybe the most overrated QB in the league. He can't win the big games............never has.............never will. Man, wouldn't it be nice to be that average and get paid like your something special? Hey Jerry Jones.........hire me....I wouldn't be any good either and I could sure use the money.
Actually Tony Romo did win the game, the pass was complete. Or a least tied the game. It is the offensive line for Dallas that lost the game. Tony did fairly well. There were a couple of passes that were behind his receivers but McNabb missed a few too. As for the fumble by Choice before halftime that was just a dumb call by Jason Garrett. The offense ran the play given to them, Romo made a successful pitch to Choice. But no one can foresee a fumble and that is why coach's shouldn't run those kind of plays in those kinds of situations.
I'm a lifelong Cowboys fan but I knew not to believe any of the hype the sports writers were making about the Cowboys this year. It will be a so-so year.
Year after year under the Phillips regime nothing has changed. It's the same mistakes again and again. Especially when it comes to play calling. Whoever designed and called the play (Jason Garrett?) where Dez Bryant lines up wide right, the ball is snapped and as the cornerback is flying unblocked at Bryant, Romo turns and throws a lateral pass to him, should have been fired on the sideline. Were they hoping Hall was going to run by him? And they called it almost back to back! Both times he was tackled the second he caught the ball.
I would swear that Phillips doesn't know he's actually coaching a football team because he stands there on the sidelines with this look of disbelief the entire game.
Since no one in the Cowboy organization has the guts to say it, here goes: Jerry Jones, hire a good head coach, don't run him off, let him do his job, shut up, and stay out of the way.
Really didn't understand some of the play calling. The ignorant play at the end of the first half, was unexplainable. Coach Philipps can coach, but if the players do not execute, you can't win. There were many unnecessary penalties on both sides. If the "Boys don't get their stuff together, they're toast. The Redskins still have a long way to go, as do all the other teams. Unless something happens to change the makeup of their team, all that play the Texans, better buckle their belts.
If they would have called the holding penalty when it happened, instead of after the play was over, I would feel better about it.
Romo and the Cowboys are so over rated...Every commentator on NFL Network picked Dallas to win the game. So much for their expertease. The guys on FOX are picking the the Cowboys to win the SB (again)...watch them choke again...
