Garbage!
Revis is a great cornerback but has yet to play out his rookie contract as most players do. Revis has no class and weakened the team with his unprofessional antics. All the while other not-so-happy players reported to camp as Nick Mangold did. The Jets rewarded him with a new contract but Revis chose to separate himself from the team by holding out.
I realize that players need to get as much money because the teams are getting their money. I want Revis to earn as much as he is worth but he went about this the wrong way and in doing so really hurt a Super Bowl hopeful.
Cutting Coles and Richardson was a slap in the face as they each stood to make less than $1mil a season while pretty boy Revis is looking for $1 million per game.
Big PR mistake Jets. I bet this one comes back and bites you in the a$$.
Been watching that Hard Knocks series and was sad to see a good player like Laverneous Coles get cut The true test of a wide receiver is his ability to go across the middle and LC was always willing and able to do that no matter who was throwing the ball, TRich was looked upon as a leader in the locker room and by all accounts of that documentary something the team is badly missing. They also cut a QB in Clemens who carried a clip board and was always ready for active duty. I understand the desire to make as much guaranteed money as possible given the violent nature of the game, but sometimes you have to take a bit of a financial hit for the betterment of the team That didnt happen here. The Jets do not look that sharp once you get past the starters and the offense is lethargic at best. While Revis is probably good for preventing 3-6 points per game with his defense, he is not the one thats going to put points on the board. Im a Jets fan but I think they have to get out of September either 2-2 or 3-1 while they await the return of Holmes (whose performace is certainly not a given) in order to have a chance at a super bowl run. Without Holmes I dont see them doing that
