A 21-year-old man impersonated a 14-year-old by playing in a youth football league and attempted to enroll at a Hillsborough County Middle School, according to league and school district officials.

Seems like less workers in the workforce means less time to check backgrounds on possible hires. With less workers comes less volunteers. Less workers also means less people out there looking out for consumers. This is the reason why this guy slipped through the cracks much like the guy who forged his way into Harvard slipped through the cracks. Trust me, there are more scam artists out there then there have been ever before.
