With a nondescript 19th-place finish at Michigan International Speedway, Dale Earnhardt Jr. all but ensured he'll miss the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship for the third time in four years.

Helloo - anyone home?? There is only one common denominator for Jrs lack of performance - it's Jr. He is NOT as commited as he was when Sr was around. Aside from JJ and Gordon types, most of the people above him in the standings the past few years run Nationwide, and even Truck - getting lots of time to figure out set-ups, track conditions, and always valuable seat time - like Jr used to do, but not anymore. Tony Jr, Tony Sr, Tony Jr again, and now Lance are all getting nailed for Jrs inability to help set up and adjust the car. NO ONE can set the car up or adjust it to Jrs liking if he can't tell them what the car is doing.. listen to his in car audio - it's piss and moan all day... And his on track performance with good cars is not that good either - how often does he give up spots in the last 20 laps - on any track? Big picture - put Jr in Nationwide - see if he can win there, give Martin or Kahne the 88, and leave the crew chiefs alone - they are doing a good job.
Once again his record has proven that Jr. is the most overrated driver in the Cup series, living off his name. Any other driver would have been let go a long time ago. The facts don't lie. Other drivers with better records have been dismissed. It's time.
