Opinion: What Lane Kiffin needs, in addition to a dozen more USC reserves and some NCAA mercy, is empathy. Too bad the polarizing first-year Trojans coach won't be Facebook friends with UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel. Regardless of his ties to the archrival, Neuheisel might be the one colleague who'd understand Kiffin's situation with the most compassion.

Kiffin was a real jerk in Tennessee, leaving his team without saying 'kiss my foot or anything else". I thought the players were going to tear him apart. A lot of the fans certainly wanted to....I don't wish him well at USC, that's for sure.
I'm not a Pac 10+2 fan. so I didn't follow the Neuheisel Washington story too closely. what, exactly, did he do wrong as far as the NCAA was concerned. I know he got crossways with the female Athletic Director and she fired him. But I thought he won that legal battle, along with several million dollars, and she got fired. We never get the final true word on that sort of thing in the media, but that was the last I heard. ????
