The woman convicted of trying to extort Rick Pitino said she didn't get a fair trial because of the Louisville coach's fame and power. Karen Cunagin Sypher told The Courier-Journal newspaper that Louisville is a small enough city for any jury to be influenced by Pitino.

So I assume if Pitino is ever convicted of DUI, domestic violence, soliciting prostitution, child sodomy, or anything else; as long as he does not do it on 'university property' his job will be safe. Wow, that is a unique contract.

My facts are perfectly straight. Jurich said Pitino was not disciplined because the misconduct did not occur on University property. I thought that was a pretty ridiculous comment and was wondering how far that impunity stretched. The fact is Jurich said it. Maybe I should let it go. Executives in charge of multi million dollar operations should not be held accountable for the stupid things they say. Just ask the former CEO of BP.
I thought the mention of "University property" was a pretty weak spin by their official mouthpiece. But then they do not get paid much. Actually, the University can't do anything about it unless it involves illegal activity. There is nothing illegal about banging some skank. If there were, they would have to fire 2/3 of the university employees, and dismiss most of the students. Should you be fired from your job if you have an affair?

It would seem that she knows how to use her sexuality to her gain. That trait will be useful in prison. However, after prison she won't be so pretty, but rather pretty old.....she sooo deserves this.

I live in Louisville, and have had to endure news coverage of this distasteful thing for some time. Glad its over. I think the jury made the right decision. Was not sure if she was guilty or not, until I saw her 'kiss her crusifix' for the cameras one day on her way into the courthouse. Made me want to puke. It told me loads about her character, that and the fact she used abortion as a form of birth control.

the university "let it go", just like the jury "let it go". university policy is notorious for NOT doing anything about rape. they pass the buck.
something VERY FISHY about this situation. it would be much better for the culture if the jury, or who/whatever, would have let this woman go after that PIT and teach him a lesson....after all the courts don't do much about rape.
