Sporting News: Kentucky and coach John Calipari figured they had enough of this sort of treatment from particular members of the sporting media and decided fighting back was a prudent course.
Kentucky makes stand against published rumor

It was only a matter of time before cash to play entered the Kentucky basketball program.
Even if it was a nasty rumor, I'm sure there's been some type payment made to this and many other players that haven't been documented yet.
Calipari isn't that good of a coach, so why are these young athletes pounding down the door to get there? One, Calipari doesn't care if you're one and done, he's got a hole line of BS that parents of the next group of stars want to hear; and, second, he's at Kentucky for the short term or until he drags them down with NCAA sanctions, then he's off to his next coaching job for even more money. And, of course, denying he had anything to do with the unlawful payments to players.
Coach Cal is a piece of slime. Any parent that allows their child to play for him is selling their child to the Devil for pieces of silver. Kentucky is a mockery of college basketball and academics and the entire state should be ashamed to support it with their tax dollars.
