USC needs a squeaky clean coach to clean up their image and to make nice with the NCAA; Kiffin is the antithesis of all of that.

Kiffin could have handled the hiring better but the bottom line will be- does he win? He will, and he will be there as long as he does.

We all saw how many secondary violations Kiffin racked up in his 1 year at Tennessee. This is the wrong coach to clean up the USC program

Kiffin is a loser. Without his dad he is nothing. No moral character is not unusual in college coaches, but he is universally hated.

I'm a UCLA grad. Thought USC was headed for the Death Penalty with Kiffin. Still time before 8.3 when Haden takes over to pull it off.

Kiffen is an NCAA sanction waiting to happen.

He will do whatever it takes to win, whether it is within the rules or not, even though he only won something like 7 games in his 2 seasons with the Oakland Raiders and 1 season at UT.

That seems to be completely at odds with Pat Haden's squeaky clean public image.

Kiffen will be a short-timer at SC anyway -- my prediction is a maximum of 3 years.

USC deserves Kiffen, and just in time for the NCAA imposed jail term. I think Monte should have a DNA test to see if it is possible for him to have fathered that classless supposed son, Lane. Monte is a class act.

Kiffin has already succeeded at confirming he is the biggest d-bag in sports. But make no mistake, his latest embarassment was no surprise to Pat Haden. Pat was well aware of what was going on with Kennedy and has now confirmed "he (kiffin) is my coach". The squeeky clean image lasted about three days. But to be fair, you have to remember that everything is relative. When your most notable football alumni is a convicted felon and probable double-murderer, little things like cheating and screwing other people (including your own alumni) doesn't seem like a real big deal. I was about to welcome USC to the world of fair play and compliance then this happened. Lame is the perfect coach for USC. Please don't fire him, this is just too much fun.

USC needs to hire John Featherstone from El Camino Jr. college. ( See how many of his athletes go on to major colleges and the pros) Look into his achievements there.......................probably the most winning JC coach in modern times. Friend of former coach, Pete C. Hes a players coach! The guys want to win for a guy like this! Hes a winner, and recieved a pass from San Diego States Brian Sipe in the Avocado Bowl Yearrrrrs ago for San Diego States only Bowl win ever! The guy has never gotten enough credit only because he never wanted to leave the So. Bay as he wanted to see his kids grow up!

Haden is a class act and will not put up with Kiffin's inmature attitude. The marriage will not last long. The lawsuit is going to be interesting which means that the two will not get off to a very good start.

I say give Lane the chance to prove himself. What rule has he broken at this point in time at USC? Tennessee fans need to let go of the recent past, and like USC, move on with their own issues. Kiffin has a great staff, great players, great fans, and works for a great University. Let's have this conversation in a year from now.
