Concerns about a half-empty race track dogged NASCAR long before Sunday's race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the sanctioning body's top officials didn't want to discuss attendance or any other ailments plaguing the nation's No. 1 racing series.
NASCAR gets tougher to protect its brand

Having followed Nascar since 1949,this "Dumb Ol Country Boy",believes Nascar is "killing" Nascar! At a time when the economy is depresed and some fans can't attend events,we depend on the ol TV for our coverage. But when every hour of coverage shows 40 min. net track action, the rest promos, commercials and various "cutaways",it's hard to stay focused. Nascar's ballon can only hold so much "Hot air" before it bursts.
