As a Red Sox fan, I'm thrilled to see Beckett come back and show something on the mound. In theory, if Bucholz, Beckett, Dice-K and Lester are all at their top form, the Red Sox have one of the best rotations in baseball.
But 3 out of 4 of those pitchers, and Dice-K in particular, seem to be a wee bit delicate. Beckett hasn't been quite at the top of his game since 2007. Bucholz was just out for nearly a month with a strained hamstring and Dice-K could get hurt pulling his socks up.
I wonder if Bob Gibson had these issues.
