He got the award for what he did ON the field. The "benefits" had no effect either way on how many yards or TD's he got. Let him keep the award and discipline him in a different way.
Ghost, I disagree. Im sure the fact that nice new car he had to drive around campus and the facct that his parents lived in a home they could never have afforded helped him sleep better at night so he could perform better? They should toss both him and Carrol out of the NFL! They knew the rules, they broke them, they should pay! But you know who get to pay for this? Some kids and a coach that had nothing to do with this. They will not get to play in a Bowl Game and are punished for something someone else did when they were in High School? Yea, thats fair!
He should be stripped of the award if he is guilty of the charges against him. It should go to the next qualified runner up. Period!
Seems like the people who make these decisions never make the right decisions. They are all politicians or otherwise they wouldn't be where they are. Bush's Heisman should be taken away as a deterrent to future kids thinking about breaking the rules. I bet you they will let him keep the trophy, though, because they don't want to set a precedent. No nads syndrome.
He is a bust in NO anyway. He got a ring but I would hardly call him MVP material.
