I think the baseball players need to do what they feel is right; however, they need to read the law and understand before commenting on it. This law reads almost exactly the way the Federal law reads, it only gives Arizona the ability to act in its best interest if the government fails to do so. And we all know the government has acted or should I say has not acted in a responsible manner. I think most Americans, including those of Latin descent, only want to see the laws we have on the books enforced and followed. One of our finest Presidents back in 1986 tried to come up with a fair and comprehensive immigration law; and look at us today, more than 20 years later we have another 12-20 million illegal immigrants here in America. We all know and understand why they want to be here and we can sympathize with thier plights; however, breaking the law is breaking the law. I'm fairly certain I/we would not be able to do this if we wanted to cross the border and live in Mexico. Their immigration laws are much harsher than America's. Boycott the game if you must, but at least try and be honest about why you are doing it. And if you were honest, it cannot be done based on the letter of the law as it is written today.
They have made it clear where their loyalty lies.... and the race of the people protesting the law obviously outweighs all else.

So "your community" is foriegn criminals not American citizens? Are you not being paid millions for playing America's pasttime? Do you not stand for America's national anthem at the beginning of every game?
Could you imagine a black baseball player refusing to play in New York because Somali pirates are on trial there and he considers the fact that they look like him more important than their commiting a crime against the country that gave him everything he has?
I hope any black or white kids that may have looked up to any of these whining racists find players of their own race to look up to, you know to help "stand with their own communities".
The Arizona law is 100% justified and any MLB player who cant see that is a fool, The federal government led by Obama wants to give amnesty to millions of illegals for 1 reason only - they see them all as democrat voters, The Feds are committing treason by not upholding the constitution and not enforcing the border laws and suing Arizona over something that Arizona have every right to do. The Feds are doing everything in their power to destroy the constitution and bill of rights and they must be stopped.
You've made an assumption that they haven't read the bill. It's pretty obvious you are prejudiced in favor of the law. You dismiss the idea that anyone else can come to another conclusion based upon the same information. Your comment says more about YOU then it does the players.

A real problem in the United States of America is the illegal immigration problem. California is going bankrupt. The border states to Mexico are on the brink of bankruptcy and are having a very difficult time dealing with the criminals that are trying to come across the border. These are very real problems.
We are THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!! We need to start acting as if we are ONE country. We might be individual states, but we are still ONE country. Until we start coming together to defend our land and observe our constitution (the basis for all of our laws) then we will continue to crumble.
If the Federal Government doesn't start enforcing the laws on the books, the states will continue to give the bird to the Feds and do what they need to do to protect themselves. If the Federal Government doesn't pull its collective head out of its collective ass, we are doomed.
As for these nimrods in the MLB, they can just take their asses back to their Latin communities. Why don't they go back to their homelands to make them better?? Why don't they take their money to their homelands to give to their people who are starving and yearning for a better life?? Let's see them put their money where their mouths are!! Nah, they are chicken droppings, they wouldn't dare go back home to take care of their people.

There is a good possibility that these players will have more challenges in 2011. There will be many states and counties instituting the same law.
A good solution when many states have this law, is that these high paid individuals may have to stick to their word and stop playing completely. Good option.

I say boycott major league baseball after all they support drug use and are forcing our kids and grand kids to cheat to to be competitive. We should all boycott all pro sports until they adopt a one and done policy. Ban steroid use period. Congress should force the union to accept blood testing for all players and those caught should be removed from all pro sports period. American start taking your country back. Maybe all the jocks and celebrities against the AZ law could help foot the estimated $2 billion annual cost for the estimated 11-20 million illegal aliens in the country. It is extremely doubtful that any of the players making these public comments have actually read the law or if they have they certainly do not understand it. Of course when the President of the United States goes around to various public functions making false claims about the law, it is not really all that difficult to understand how these athletes might be predisposed to unwittingly oppose the law. Why is the Arizona law being intentionally misrepresented? The power brokers and money interests have had much to gain by ignoring immigration law. It is a crying shame that any reasonable attempt to enforce the law is met with these idotic and frankly ludicrous claims. The Governor of the State of Arizona and the Legislature of the State of Arizona should be applauded for their courageous stand. The players that misrepresent the truth should themselves be boycotted or censured or booed. Those in Washington that are responsible for the present illegal immigration debacle should hide their heads in shame and resign or be removed from office for failure to execute their duties and reponsibilities to the Constitution and the American people. They have abdicated their responsibilities, abbrogated the U.S. Constitution and have done away with the Rule of Law, unless those rules were advantageous for obtaining more power and wealth for themselves and their cronies. The vast majority of Americans justly oppose any form of amnesty and believe that the only path to legal citizenship is by following the established law, not breaking it. Only one government in the world has abdicated its responsibility to guard its borders and that is the federal government in Washington, D.C. and the members of both the Democrat and Republican parties. The current Justice Department lawsuit is a sham and a disgrace. President Obama would rather advance his leftist agenda than stand fast for the whole of America and Americans. All of us submit our IDs whenever and wherever we are asked. Most of us do this on a daily basis just to get through the routines of the day. To announce that Arizona's law is racist is one of the biggest lies told to us of late. If you doubt the veracity of this, read the law and make up your own mind.
Local police departments are going to have a better grasp on the areas with the most problems. They will have a more personal interest and be able to sift out the bad elements. Why would any ethnicity dispute that, unless they are contributing to the problem and gaining financially from it? I would hope that all ethnic communities would support a more personal approach in dealing with the Illegal element, and help as much as they can. The more co operation you give the more co operation you will receive.
