Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban says the NBA should examine how free agents LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade all ended up with the Miami Heat.
I agree 1000%. I don't know much about these three players history together but it doesn't quite smell right. Queen Latifah would've brought more game against the Celtics than King James. Did the three of them already have this pact to go to Miami together. If so the WWF is looking more legit than the NBA.
Cuban is a sniveling ass. He engages in the very same sort of shady conduct that he's now going out of his way to complain about. He's just pissed that his Mavericks didn't concoct something similar. This man has been fined 1.6 million by the league for 13 separate incidents and he's passing judgment? Laughable.
I totally agree with you!! I don't think there will be too many owners happy about the Heat because they know THEY CAN'T BEAT US BABY!!! And they would have done the same thing, "We just thought of it FIRST & that's not saying that there is something going on" They just hope that it is so they can try to break us up..... Hell they can't say these men are lying about actually thinking about the possibility of playing together years ago. Knowing that they would be free agents. They can sign with whatever team they wanted!!! And to the Ohio that was F'ed up the way yall did James. I guess yall was never a TRUE FAN AFTER ALL....
Well, Earl, did you bother to watch the Boston series??? How many turnovers did James have? Game 6 I believe he had NINE. He was also holding the ball, dribbling it during parts of the game and I noticed him just staring into the crowd on several other occasions. He only actually played ONE game that was up to par. The others were WAY before his capabilities. Intentional??? Hmmm, and Bosh gets hit with an elbow and is out in crucial games while Toronto was battling for a playoff spot??? These 3 AmEgoes NEED to be investigated. Like another writer posted on this thread, this is like the WWF.
I don't think anything will happen but those 3 kids have their reputation tarnished forever. If they win, what does that prove? Cheaters always win?? Sickening!!!
The credibility of this league has gone down the toilet. The Cavs didn't need better support players to keep LJ. They needed a better nightlife in Cleveland to compete with South Beach. Upgrade those strip clubs if you want to attract free agents. If LJ is the best, the other players should have been coming to him, not the other way around. He took their millions straight out of high school without any intent of staying there. Sure the burden of winning was on his shoulders. It comes with the territory. Cuban is only saying what other owners are thinking: We have lost control over our franchises. For those who say why would the Cavs want him back if he tanked, it's simple. His leaving probably dropped the value of the franchise by several hundred million. Few stars have ever left during their prime. Jabbar and Shaq both went to LA for the glamour and commercial opportunities. Guess not much as changed since South Beach is the eastern version of Hollywood.
Ur a jackass. So what he took there mint straight out of high school. He made that town way more than they payed him. And after not winning after 7 years. You leave. Yes 7 years. It's a long time to be anywhere. Think about it
If Miami is investigated, it’s still unclear what could possibly be found. Perhaps a revelation that LeBron James did intentionally give 80% instead of 100% during a few games because he was sick of Cleveland? If this is true, it does nothing but tarnish James’ reputation.
Cuban isn’t stupid by any stretch. He has to know this. And if that’s all Cuban is after, it’s fairly obvious that this is a personal beef he has with Miami. Losing the NBA Finals in 6 games to the Heat has him seeing red every time they improve and all he has to hang his hat on is Dirk and a shoulda-retired-years-ago Jason Kidd.
Cuban is a huge hater of the heat and is just releasing his anger from the 06 NBA finals when he got swept the last 4 games by D-Wade and the Heat lmao...
Cuban's request makes far more sense the junk Dan Gilbert was spewing. Owners and team managers are strictly forbidden to talk to or about specific players before the day they become free agents. Why is it that Dwyane Wade can do all the talking he wants to /about Bosh and James? Also, if players can behave this way, what's to prevent Heat management from communicating all their intentions through D. Wade?
Wow!!!! Reading everyone comments here just strengthens my argument on how dumb people can be. Likitis- u r a jackass. He spend 7 years in Cleveland. And nothing. If they weren't so @!$%#in cheap and wouldve givin him the tools to we. We wouldn't be havin this convo. Hez one man and can't do it alone. So after seven years of lossin In the finals. It's time to move one to greener pastures. Btw. For the rest of u condescending @!$%# who probably to have an idea the way the league works anyway. Just keep ur mouth shut, u sound smarter. I mean come on. Investigate Miami?? Stupidest @!$%# I heard. Pat Riley is a genius. U wanna kno how they all end up there. It's quite simple. You see. Since they all friends it's obvious they talk. And when ur all free agents, I'm sure that's the topic of a few conversations. Sooo...... Ei. Hey wade, where u goin?? Ima stay in Miami. Ok. Bosh how about you. I like Miami to. Lebron- ok well if I wanna win where should I go play...hmmmm leme think. Cleveland??nooooo. Ok Miami. It s that simple. And since Miami cleared there roster in anticipation of the most talked about free agency in NBA history. They have the room in there salary cap to afford all three players. Granted they all took a pay cut. So it's cleary not about money. It's about a champs will to win. Most of u bloggers are prolly either nicks or Cleveland fans anyway. Look don't slit ur wrist over it. It's ok. See I'm from ft lauderdale. So I'm happy. And ima be even happier when we start winning. Haa!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, just curious, what grade did you get in english class? did you even COMPLETE an english class? good luck getting a job with skills like yours.
Cuban is doing what he needs to do to keep promoting his team and keeping them in the limelight. he goes about stupidly but that another story.
as for Cleveland and Dan Gilbert: if during your "interview" with LeBron, the best you can do is come up with a comic video to entice him to stay, you deserve to lose $100-200 million in a night.
i'm not a LeBron fan, but he did fulfill his contract, and you didn't do enough to keep him. get over it. stupid business decisions cost you... big time.
Earlsmearl, put your head back in. The only one I hear whining is you, bych. Big mouthed know it all. I wouldn't be able to spend 5 minutes in a room with you.
I think everyone complaining and putting Lebron down need to man up, you are all acting like*!@#$es. You are all showing woman traits, with your anger , jealousy, hate, etc. Where any of you married to this man to demand he do what you want! Yo bunch of homos!! Stop crying of everything this man does. If he would have gone to your team no one would have given a crap about Cleveland..Its just that he came to Miami where 2 other stars are and are all scared to death!!! Again a woman (or homos)trait to lash out when scared and angry.....Grow up and be men......bunch of gossippers....I am a Heat fan but if Wade would have left i would not have acted like all you Idiots....
Mark Cuban..........not sure any one person in this world needs to say more than that. Everyone of us knows what he does to tarnish the league every night. He knows that if D-Wade can take over a series and kick the crap out of his team, how is he going to handle 3 top stars? He also knows that these 3 players didn't go to Dallas because they would have to listen to his stupidity daily. The Heat did awesome in free agency, clearing space, spending money, and still remain under the cap. They are in negotiations with Iverson..........imagine if they pick him up and have one of the fastest old man guards to join the new big 3. All these people are going to be crying more and more wondering just how Mr. Riley got everything done. Not saying that AI is what he used to be, but he is still one of the fastest players and still has game. He will probably cry about not being the man, but put yourself in his shoes..........this is the best chance at any rings and championships. Wade, Bosh, and LeBron all talk the same as we all talk to our friends everyday. If you are considering leaving a job I'm willing to bet you talked to some of your friends and said "hey I'm going to Jim Bobs shop, you should come with me!" It works the same way down the pole making $8.00 an hour as it does making the millions. I just wish I had the ability to take a 15 million dollar pay cut to sign the next big star as they all did......think about it. They did this for a reason, regardless of free agency, everyone in the world knew this free agency was right around the corner. Do we honestly think they all sat down the night before and said we should all hang in Miami? Hells NO, this has been a couple years in the making........Miami is glitz and glamour, your all sad you can not have this. Leave the new big 3 to prove they can play together and lets see what comes of it! Go Heat!
there is nothing illegal immoral or even wron with players deciding they want to play on the same team. there is nothing in the rule book against it. Pat saw an oppertunity and like the basketball god he is made it come to fruition. I know the rest of the team that were in the running for "the quitter" have sour grapes now but man to turn coat just beacause he didnt come to your city. and as far as cleveland is concern maybe if you guys had not booed him on his home court in game 6 it would still be his home court. so i guess its ok for fans to turn their back on a player but god forbid a player leaves the fans that love him. Miami is just a better fan base period. we were smart enough to bring down riley from the knicks and its payed dividends. so rest of the league get over it when he has 7 rings no1 will remeber your whining so either love us or hate us but we wont stop i thought i told u that we wont stp . . .
We love all this new hate, the heat are like a team of kobes now. you never know how good you really are until you have alot of haters and jusdging by these posts we are gonna be awsome next year. so keep the hate comeing, its only fuel for the championship drive. and once there is a dynasty down here in miami well be sure to thank you whiny babies for the motivation
Lebron, Bosh, and Wade going to Miami had nothing to do with the nightlife, or whatever that clown was suggestion. It was because they were the only one of the three teams that had the potential cap room (basically meaning nobody else on the roster except for them) to pay them all max contracts. They even had to do a sign and trade to get the deal done. As for why the three wanted to play together, they have all been playing together on Team USA for several years together, and they're all close friends. They may even be able to recruit another star or two for a minimum contract.
Personally, I hope David Stern slaps the snot of the face of all the whinny little cry babies and demands them to explain what exactly is their plan to sell tickets?
It seems to me that at the present time, only the Lakers, the Celtics, Chicago, the Magic and now the Heat are the only organizations doing their job.
All the rest of them are just sitting on their butts whining about mean old Pat Riley as if Mark Cuban fell down on the playground and skinned his knee and somehow that is was all Pat Riley’s fault.
Maybe David Stern will take these whinny little bitches for a ride out in the desert and drop them off in the heat and tell them that by the time they walk back to the hotel, they better stop whining about Miami and have a plan for their team.
why dont you worry about your own piss-poor franchise. did you just spend $55 million in BRENDAN HAYWOOD for 5 years. Obviously you dont know how to run a team...
That said, superteams never work, and the Heat will be no exception. There are too many egos and not enough basketballs for that crap.
That said, superteams never work, and the Heat will be no exception. There are too many egos and not enough basketballs for that crap.
Hey not to be rude but are you honestly that stupid? Let me give you 2 simple reasons you should NOT have said that.
1. Lebron, Bosh and Wade are all from the same 2008 Beijing Olympic Gold Medalist team. They worked so well together so we have documented proof. But furthermore, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade are HUGE team players, getting great APG numbers, IMAGINE how many assists they can get when they have each other to look out for, the defense is either gonna double team one of them or play iso, either way it will result in a @!$%#load of offense, on top of that you have bosh on the low-block and he is a scoring machine with a 20-10 average (20+points 10+rebounds probably the top 2 or 3 big men in the league and still very young). I don't think you really know what your talking about to be honest, but let me show you a much worse team that won the championship and made it to the finals last year AT MUCH OLDER beyond their primes ages, and without as much talent.
B. THE CELTICS (beat the current contender which is the lakers and that was in 2008 when the lakers were closer to their prime, now they're over the hill).
C. Dwyane Wade and Lebron BOTH have carried a team to the finals on their backs, I really don't think you put much thought into your comment.
Well, it seems to me that fans like owners who get things done. Not owners who sit around saying, “Would of, Should of, Could of” all the time. It seems to me Mark Cuban is the latter and he just makes it worse for Maverick fans because all he does is whine in the paper about everyone else instead of celebrating what could be a great NBA season for Dallas.
Why Mark Cuban’s whining and complaining is doing nothing in Dallas but making Maverick fans angry.
Mark Cuban is nothing but a big drama queen.
What Mark Cuban should being saying in the Dallas Press is “Yes, we at the Dallas Mavericks are quite aware of the situation in the Southeastern Division and the potential of a tougher Pacific Division with Phoenix and much like Pat Riley and the Miami Heat, the Mavericks are implementing our plan to acquire a synergetic mix of free agents to lead us to victory this season. Maverick fans should keep in mind that the Free Agency list contains numerous formidable names who have expressed interest in Dallas. The Maverick front office has been working on its plan since the post season considering several combinations and scenarios that would be the best fit for Dallas. We at the Mavericks will be announcing our roster in the next few weeks that the City of Dallas will find to be every bit as exciting as any other roster in the league. ”
Instead, Mark Cuban says things that basically sounds like a little kid that dropped his ice cream in the sandbox and is looking for someone to blame.
The Heat management needed to be involved for this to have been tampering. The NBA rule states that no employee of any team can communicate with any free agent of another team until July first. Which does include Wade by the way. So the grey area is can Wade contact Bosh and James as a friend without acting as an employee of the Heat? and is that even a fair expectation? I think the answer to both of those questions is NO but you cant prove any collusion.
IMHO there are two rasons this is good for the leage. 1. you need a villian to root against (i.e. Yankees, Cowboys, Duke BBall, ...) 2. NBA chatter in July has never been like this.
Your correct and ESPN asked David Stern if the so called "Summit" was against NBA rules and Stern said "no" and he was not going to stop it.
Apparently, since players don't actually discuss money or contract details, agents do, meeting and having dinner together without your agent is not considered a team contacting a free agent outside the window.
I agree 1000%. I don't know much about these three players history together but it doesn't quite smell right. Queen Latifah would've brought more game against the Celtics than King James. Did the three of them already have this pact to go to Miami together. If so the WWF is looking more legit than the NBA.

Poor guy. He'll do anything for attention. If he can't get it by winning, he has no problem getting it by whining.
I totally agree with you!! I don't think there will be too many owners happy about the Heat because they know THEY CAN'T BEAT US BABY!!!
