I think LeBron made a "Big Boy" move. He decided to move to the place many young men dream of... South Beach. At least he has the big bucks to live the Miami High Life. I'm proud of him. I think He went over the top with his "Coming Out Party" but I would try that too if I could pull it off. He commanded the airways. Every major media outlet called his name over and over again all day long. He must be feeling like THE KING. He's hanging on the Beach and at the gym with his best buddies and he's no longer expected to be the Saviour for the City. I'm praying for Great Blessings for The City of Cleveland. I think fans should boycott the game when Miami comes to town. It may hurt Gilbert, but he will get over it. But the ego maniac babies will get the message. I do not belive this is the end of the story. Wait till next year when the owners get together with David Stern. Bird was one hell of a player, but he wasn't always what you would call a class act. He called Dr. J the "n" word in a game during his second year in the league and got lumps from both Dr. J, and Moses Malone before the melee was broken up. Dr. J has said he will never discuss what was said on the floor that day. So how do I know Bird used the "n" word? Because Dr, J was the kind of player/man who walked away from confrontational situations on the court. That was the only thing Bird could have said that would have made him punch the face in; and punch the face in he did. Check it out! If Dr. J had told it, Bird would have have had that stain on an otherwise brilliant career; and how would it have affected his name in THe Hall?

I agree. I too had some sympathy for the Cavs until Dan Gilbert did something that was so unclassy. I believe that James honestly struggled with his decision and would have stayed in Cleveland but the Cav's gave such a poor presentation (a cartoon? come on!) and couldn't give him what he wanted. Mr. Gilbert, you need to take some responsibility for LeBron's leaving.

Personally, I have no problem with James' career move. It was his perfect right to bolt to Miami, and it improved his chances to actually accomplish something in the post season. It's his self-absorbed little dog-and-pony show last night and the way he bailed in last year's playoffs that make me consider him a loser.

Lebron's decision was a matter of finance, nothing more. This was 100% all about the money. Ohio's personal income tax has a top rate of approximately 5.9%. And then the city of Cleveland tacks on another 2%, which is like throwing money out the window. On the other hand, Florida has no state income tax.

Gee whiz folks, He can either pay 7.9% or 0%. What a tough choice! So many numbers! How many financial masterminds does it take to figure out which is a better deal?

The only consolation is that the excessive taxation that booted him from Ohio also locked him out of New York.

Don't blame Lebron -- blame the politicians. If Lebron would speak up about the tax issue, it would go a long way towards rehabilitating his image in Cleveland. We KNOW that Ohio government is bloated and corrupt. We KNOW the "city tax" is a shameless money grab, not to mention taxation without representation. In Lebron's case, it was simply too much money to throw out the window.

This business about "winning a championship" is a total smokescreen (and a counterproductive one at that). He should have simply told the truth about the taxes. It would be hard to blame him for being smart about his personal finances. We should all be as smart as Lebron.
