The "Super Team" is great news for the rest of the Eastern Conference. There is a limit on the number of times you can play (and lose to) one team. Losing LeBron weakens Cleveland, losing Bosh weakens Toronto, and now they will fight for the same ball with Wade on Miami. Think if each had gone to (or in the case of Wade, stayed with) Chicago, New Jersey and Miami. The Bulls would have gone to contender status, the Nets would have climbed off the mat, and the Heat would still have been good. Now, Chicago is still a .500 team, the Nets still are bad, and the Heat have to contend with lots of guys who need the ball.
Sorry but I only have admiration for the skill of this amazing player. We were lucky enough to get tickets to his very first game in Sacramento against the Kings. The only seats available were the nosebleed seats up in the clouds. We saw him bigger than life doing the most amazing plays I have ever seen. He stood above everyone. His skill was something to see. Sorry but I think if there is an ego at play I am willing to feed it and give LeBron the full credit he deserves as an outstanding player. We do not see that kind of athlete very often and when we do there is no reason not to recognise a job well done.
This is total crap reporting. Why don't you get the details straight. . .all the proceeds of the event James is giving to Boys and Girls Club. . .boy that sounds really selfish. Stupid jerkoff reporting.
I would like to watch tonight, but i'll be sitting on my toilet, reading the paper, and taking a Lebron. I have to take a Lebron at least twice a day and it just so happens that his show will be on at the same time. I don't care where Lebron goes, he's a proven LOSER & CHOKER !! hahaahaaaaa
There is no need to watch this every news channel will announce this seconds later. I think hes going to new York, This special event is something New York would pull.
With all the issues we face right now; who gives a 's..t' about this guy! We're so concerned about the athletes, hollywood personalities, junk TV shows, ect. When 25% of American's don't even know the country we fought in the revolution to gain our independence, it should give us all concern about our country and it's future. So what happens to some BB player should not be of concern.
Jeff, you just proved that most people don't even read the full story before commenting. The article DOES mention that he is giving the proceeds to the Boys and Girls Club. Try reading past the title and first sentence before flipping out...it helps calm the nerves.
Since you have a "reply" on your post, I want to piggyback here and tell the angry person named Kevin Q that NO ONE made you read the article or come here and post.
NJJOHN, same to you. If you don't like it, leave it to those of us who do like basketball.
Pat, who says I don't like BB! Played HS & College ball myself so don't lecture me on 'who' likes BB. If the extent of your interest is BB, sorry for you!
Who has created the "Lebron Watch" if not the media ...sit back and suck it in...take your punishment like a man. If 90% of these guys weren't athletes..they would be working at the local car wash!!!This guy and the next 50 generations of the spawn of Lebron will be laughing all the way to the banks!!!Enjoy watching the monsters you have made!!!!
I'm sick of the drafts and free agency becoming bigger than the actual games in all the sports. I've stopped listening to sports radio and only watch actual games on TV.
Grow up! McNar, Basketball is a job. It is work and promotion goes on all the time. If he was putting on a golf tournament in your town and was going to donate the proceeds to the Boys and Girls Clubs, you would go, right? AND IF he was going to tell who he is going to play with.......you'd still go.
Great call Ken Covert! You're absolutely right. The majority of these idiots would be working at car wash of they couldn't shoot a basketball. I agree 100%.
David, I would hate to be around you because I can tell your loyalties don't run very deep. This is a promotional deal and that is all. Probably the team he is going to go with set this up. Get your head out of your ass and enjoy life. LeBron is a good person. When did he get caught with weed in his car, or dogfighting, or shooting someone (or his brother shooting someone who is a felon) or a million other things.........this is a good clean kid. He is probably better off without you now.
Who exactly does this Lebron James think he is? He's an ass and the ESPN brass are a collective ass for being a part of his B.S.
Talk about being in love with yourself.
The sad thing is that millions of sheep will wait on pins and needles to hear what this clown has to say about the hundreds of millions of dollars he's going to make and who'll he'll be making it with.
Skiddy and WhatIsWrongWithThem, What does it make you when you come here and post about something that you disapprove of? Do you think you can make anyone who really likes him change their minds? NOT..........
All of you do realize that he is doing this as a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club don't you? Are you all telling us that you wouldn't do a bit of self-promotion if you had the ability to in order to raise some money for a children's organization?! Wow...wow!!!
These posts are all great. They are all intelligently cynical. Makes me realize our society isn't as gullible as I thought it collectively was. But like I said in a post on cleveland.com, the worship will return when this is all over. "Oh, LeBron? Did he make fools of us? Oh golly, I forgot. OK, give me four tickets for tonight's Cavs game, please. How much? $200? No problem."
A Clevelander here. Won't be watching the show. Can't wait for the announcement to be over so I don't have to hear any more about some overhyped, undereducated, overpaid d-bag. Cleveland is listed as one of the top ten cities hit hardest by the current economic woes. Why are we wasting time on this shmuck?! He has done nothing for this town! Any money he deigns to donate goes to one neighborhood in Akron. The rest of the money goes to Dan Gilbert... in Michigan.
And, no, I do not watch the Indians or the Browns either. The money that some idiots pay to these three money pits could amply fix Cleveland Municipal Schools or any one of the other thousand issues in this town.
Anyone who lives in Cleveland has my automatic sympathy. Lousy teams, lousy weather; must be something good about the city. Hear you have a great symphony and medical clinic. Anything else? Sincerely...A Wisconsinite
Let him go to Miami. With Boston breaking up, it pretty much just leaves Miami and Orlando vs. the Western Conference....er the LA Lakers.
So damn boring.
Allowing this to happen might end up being the worst decision the league has ever made. Hockey is already biting hard into the NBA's revenue and Soccer is not far behind.
I was so excited when the playoffs came around because of the all the close records in the west, but it turned out to be one of the most boring years on record.
To all those who criticized Kobe for his arrogance and lack of leadership, while praising the class and selflessness of LeBron, this shows LeBron is just like the rest of the stars. No more, "Why can't they call act like LeBron?" And comparing LeBron to Kobe, he's got a ways to go. Not even in the conversation until he wins a title. If he goes to Miami, no sure thing there. Think about how it worked when the Lakers tried to get Shaq, Kobe, Malone, and Payton together.

To make a show is $$$$$$ to ESPN and a fool of the Cleveland Fans....

3 pretty big markets (Chicago, New York and Miami) so those fans will be watching. Cleveland - not so much.... If what Lebron has shown to be his true colors - he likes the attention, which builds the "brand" - he is not returning to Ohio (except to beat the crap outta the Cavaliers with his new team). I am happy that Lebron has stayed outta trouble, that he seems to be a decent person. I am happy he has the talent, works at his game and has the desire to win/be the best. And I hope he makes a decsion that works for him and his family. I suspect if he leaves Cleveland - it may be more difficult to avoid the problems a lot of players have succumbed to. A difficult choice - we certainly don't need an hour long show to get this done. I may watch the last 5 minutes - just for fun.
Thank you for a decent post, Geez............thank god that someone else here is not a hater. I have more people on ignore than I've done before in other threads.

This reporter dares to use the term self-important in his headline, yet his whole story is about him: "I GUESS", "I THINK", ETC...
Martin Fennelly is the self-important one.
Don't blame Lebron. Blame all of the media whores, including Martin Fennelly and ESPN.
In the vain of the article: I wonder how many good pieces Martin Fennelly could write...None so far!
Unbelievable display of narcissism.
I am waiting for Obama to schedule a speech during Lebron's show just to prove he's an even BIGGER star!
I was wondering how some loser would work the president into this. Good job.
Absolutely pathetic, isn't it? Nothing can be said before some IDIOT places President Obama in the middle of it.
Then don't read it. McBar, this is a free country and you never have to read something that irritates you, do you?
Bruce, you are ridiculous. Leave it to a loser to bring President Obama into this. Tell me, Bruce, are you white and lonely?
Grow up! McNar, Basketball is a job. It is work and promotion goes on all the time. I was born in Ohio and love Cleveland. I loved LeBron until yesterday, tasteless dude. Very tasteless.
David, I would hate to be around you because I can tell your loyalties don't run very deep. This is a promotional deal and that is all. Probably the team he is going to go with set this up. The age of entitlement. The whole country is entitled.

Lebron's show will be as boring as the first forty minutes of a Knick game.......ZZZZ!
These posts are all great. They are all intelligently cynical. Makes me realize our society isn't as gullible as I thought it collectively was. Problem.
I could give a rat's ass about LeBron and his stupid show. I doubt he'll ever be able to win a championship anyways no matter which team he plays for.
Guy is a jerk, a rich jerk, but still a jerk. Who f----n cares about this prima donna? Basketball is a stupid game watched by stupider people.
"stupider"
Pot meet kettle
glad you got those grammar lessons out of the way, the muse.........

Then why don't you volunteer to help your causes? I bet you haven't considered that we all are in the efforts of making our world a better place.
Lebron James is a raging douche-bag. He is an egotistical piece of shyt. That should be the latest ESPN headline.
are you aren't a raging douche-bag? no one makes you watch or read anything about him.
"are you aren't"? Is that some language for "I agree that Lebron is a raging douche-bag"?
This just in on ESPN: Breaking news! Lebron is STILL a raging douche-bag! More in one-half hour.
Let him go to Miami. With Boston breaking up, it pretty much just leaves Miami and Orlando vs. the Western Conference....er the LA Lakers.

I have no plans of watching this crap. He is an arrogant, self-absorbed athlete. Nothing more, nothing less.
Easy now...it's a fund raiser for the Boys and Girls Club Lazy...easy.
Haven't we heard enough about this mlllion doller ni---- that can't spell his own name???
and you're so ignorant that that ni----- is the best you can do. undoubtedly you're swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool........
BFD and then he will blow out his knee in the first game. What an egomaniac.
Arrogant piece of crap.
Puhleez! LeBron Who?
I am no longer a fan of Lebron. What an egotistical idiot. Lakers rule anyway.
To all those who criticized Kobe for his arrogance and lack of leadership, while praising the class and selflessness of LeBron, this shows LeBron is just like the rest of the stars.
