Seems to me that Dale Jr. is "not" a chip of the old block of his dad. It amazes me that Jr. is as popular as he is without having won hardly any races or championships. Basically he's living of his dads name.
OK, I'm not a NASCAR fan, just caught the headline. I understand the emotional attachment, but to "honor" his dad he has to win races? I'm guessing he probably wants to honor himself by winning too. I'm sure a person had to "be there" to more fully appreciate it.
Slings and arrows, begin.
This was to honor Dale Sr only and yes it was very emotional. You would have to be a NASCAR fan to understand what this means. I can tell you what we felt watching this race. As we watched this Wrangler car take the lead the first part of the race the chills ran up and down the back, we never thought we would we see the "3" in a race again. We were sitting on the chairs edge as the race went on cheering the "3" on and when the last yellow came out we held our breath and asked can he make it on old tires, and than the "20" gave him a big push and the "3" crossed the finish line and we could only sit there and then cry. We were watching Dale Sr and Tony Stewart racing again oh the moves were different but it was the memory of a great racer that was being honored. Yes Dale Jr is not his Dad and has never claimed to be. Unless you are a NASCAR fan you will not know what this was about. As always just my opinion.
