With New Jersey, New York, Miami and the Los Angeles Clippers having come and gone after making their pitches to land James, the Bulls and Cavaliers will have opportunities to convince reigning MVP LeBron James that they are the team for him.

3 things:
1. I hope the Knicks don't get him. Even if they do, I hope they still don't win.
2. I hope he leaves Cleveland. Just so the Cleveland fans feel the slap after all the idiotic pleading and things they tried when wooing him to stay.
3. Still too much hype for a player that is great, but has proven nothing yet. Granted his surrounding cast has not been up to the task.
"Granted his surrounding cast has not been up to the task."
This concession almost makes up for your other 'points'.
Not to be concerned, schmadrian, Frank-m21 really has little to say that ever makes sense. Duh "I hope the Knicks don't get him" Why? Is Frank a anti-fan of the Knicks? If so, again Why? And is he against the Cleveland fans? Again why? Frank.m21 go home and play with your own toys.
What's the matter Mike P. Weiner, you a Knicks fan? You'll be crying in your soup for many years to come then. You a Cleveland fan? Ditto.
Please exhibit an intelligence beyond a third grader. First, you got both my first and last names wrong. You can't even write a complete sentence. Or, is it only name-calling since you don't have anything worthwhile to say? If you have a reason, even a poor reason, for anything you say, why not write it here. Otherwise what you say has no meaning. It is as if you say, it will rain. When?
Contribute something of value, please.
1 word LeBron...CHICAGO...CHICAGO...CHICAGO
Lebron won't go to Chicago. Chicago will probably wind up with Wade, who grew up there. Lebron will probably stay in Cleveland for a few more years.
3 replies:
1) The Knicks have no chance of landing him BECAUSE if they did, they'd still lose
2) He won't leave Cleveland; when all is said-and-done, his conscious will rule the day, and the devastation to that city and that state will be too much for him to accept; and I'm a Chicago guy, I'd love to see him there, I just can't see it happening
3) Michael never won before getting Pippen, Grant and a supporting cast around him, as great as he was; same for Kobe, pre-Shaq, pre-Gasol; until one player averages 100+ points-per-game and 40+ rebounds-per-game, you still need teammates
Okay, a 4th thing... Cleveland better get some leadership direction in that front office; LeBron will give in and stick around this time; next time he may wash his hands of them and hit the road... regardless of economics or local loyalties.
On point 3, closest to those stats was Wilt lol, and he needed other players to win a title. You make solid points. Do you think Cleveland should go after Bosh, he might be a good enough compliment to get the Cavs over the best regular season team to championship team.
David,
Very well said. That spells it out exactly.
These comments that so many make are generally opinions based upon very little knowledge. But, I have to admit that David, at least, made some good points. Except for #1 and his spelling (David, there is a spell checker included in THIS program that you are writing in). As to point #1, the chances the Knicks have in landing Labron have to do with Labron's needs, not the Knicks chances of winning (or not). Your point is not even well founded on any sort of stated logic. Nonetheless, you may be right insofar as the Knicks' chances of signing Labron (but not for YOUR stated reason). Good luck to your Chicago team; good luck to the entire NBA.
"These comments that so many make are generally opinions based upon very little knowledge."
You sir, are an idiot. All you are doing is giving your opinion too. Why are you so high and mighty?
As for spell-checking, look in the mirror. Learn how LeBron is spelled, and get yourself a clue.
Mark, thanks for the kind words. Alan, ditto. Michael, no need for spellchecker, except by you. Hard to sound intelligent when you can't properly spell LeBron's name, as Frank points out. Nice try though.
Yeah, in my opinion only, they need to go after Bosh, but more importantly, they need to land a third guy too. Look at history. All great teams had the three-headed monster. Michael-Pippen-Grant. Kobe-Gasol-Fischer. Duncan-Parker-Ginobli. Garnett-Allen-Pierce (though only ONE title). Magic-Kareem-Worthy. The list goes on. When you consider how NBA coaches use substitution rotations, and they're all virtually the same, the role player typically keep you in a game, or can quickly put you in a hole while the "stars" get their 5-6 minutes-of-playing-time break each half.
I covered the Bulls for a local sports radio station for one year, the first three-peat year. I'm no genius, but I did pick up a few ideas talking to Jordan, Pippen and Jackson that stuck with me. The need for three high-quality players isn't new, but it is why so much talk has revolved around a LeBron-DWade-Bosh partnership. All fo them understand the need for more than just one or even two stars. The other thing I learned was this: everyone deferred to Michael. At the end of the day, egos have to be shelved and the "other two" need to accept who's going to be the go-to guy when crunch time rolls around.
Lets face it, billionaires and wooing is not going to get Lebron where he wants to be. The only team in the NE that is able to give Lebron the future he wants is the Celtics and it is not going to happen. A power trio never works because to much ego’s on one team kills it. I am a Magic fan, but I know that the only place in the league that Lebron will become the person he wants to be is in Houston. Yes Houston Rockets. This is the team that Lebron can rise above Jordan and Kobe and they both know it. Houston has everything to offer a player like Lebron. I have to say it. If money is not a #1 issue and you want to become the all time best Lebron. James, shock the world and go to Houston. Houston is the next LA!-not a fan yet, but Houston is a team you will change the world with and Houston is already on stage to become the Best City in the US in the next 5 years with the economy there, Earth Quest theme parks, Lakewood Church, The Toyota Center, and places like Houston Galleria® and Kingwood. Your choice Labron. Make it the right one, its your future. Anywhere else is going to end up like a Charles Barkley career. The agent that goes to Houston goes to the future.
If- big if- I was putting a team together, James would be last on my list.
An economy based on James, how sick can politicians be? Is this all we have left for Cleveland? Maybe lure Wal Marts to close down since we are paying the price for cheap products. It will not get better all bull by political hacks.
When was the last time you saw Jordan or Bryant with that look of utter defeat on their faces that the "King" wore in the playoffs? Never. He is simply not clutch.
Bryant left the court early vs the Celtics a few years back so we couldn't see the utter defeat. Jordan never let it get to a game 7.
Lebron won't be playing in Chicago, why would Lebron want the added pressure of playing in Jordan shadows? Lebron was shopping for a townhouse in the west village in NYC last week. At the end, Lebron will be playing for the NY Knicks.
It's all a bunch of idiotic BS. NONE of these guys are worth what they demand in pay, just as NO other celebrity is worth what they get paid. What are they really doing for that money? And we complain about the money CEO's make. These guys were all supposed to have gotten a college education to prepare them for supporting themselves and their families. Guess that shows what their education was worth when they can't support themselves after they have failed in their sports careers.
Pretty soon, fans won't be able to afford to attend the games anyway. Someone has to pay those salaries and with the economy, the sponsors will continue to cut back. Look at the problems the Yankees are still having selling their over-priced tickets to pay for that new stadium.
James is a punk. Proved it long ago.
