Age, injuries and self doubt have caught up with Tiger. He is no longer the dominant player he once was. In addition, he no longer intimidates other good players. Golf prowess apparently peaks before the age of 30. It has become obvious that, though a superb player, Tiger is a mere mortal. He may win several more majors, but it is now a toss up whether or not he will tie Nicklaus' record.
I have to disagree that golf prowess peaks before the age of 30. The second best player out there, Phil Mickelson, is arguably now playing better than ever, and he's almost 40. Also other greats, such as Ben Hogan, only found success later in their careers (and after far worse injuries than Tiger's). I think Tiger is far from done, and he could turn it around and easily surpass Nicklaus' record. Obviously at the moment it's a toss up as to if he'll regain composure, but he has time. This isn't female olympic gymnastics, I mean, even Tom Watson can still compete.
Makes you wonder what Jack is REALLY thinking right about now. Too politically correct to say, but he's got to be thinking, "Yeah, 'inevitable', try doing it first then making it a foregone conclusion. It's still MY record. Good luck, kid." Hope it never gets broken. The person labeled the greatest player ever should also be one we can look up to regarding ethics and morality. Tiger doesn't qualify. Jack does.
He'll win again. That much we can all assume. As far as his personal life, I really don't care and I don't understand why anyone would. His life, his problems. Got my own.
What is up with Johnny Miller calling tigers 2nd @ 18 a "Heroic shot". That's crap. People who go to war are heroic. Not a golf shot. The NBC commentators are drinking tiger sperm. He is a scum-bag who threw everything he had away. What an Idiot. I hope he dose not win again..
He is now just a loser and needs to keep it that way. Let's start paying attention and give some time to all the other great players like PHIL a "Model Personal Excellence, Integrity & Accountability" and leave this loser TIGER!
He is only a role model if you want to cheat on your family and the world. I would also pull every sponsor of his.
He has lost three key components to real success, his integrity, a balanced life and his swing. If he reaches out to the Lord he might make a big comeback in all areas.
Being a loyal Tiger Golf Fan, I was very disappointed in his golf at Peeble Beach, Tiger was lucky to play in the 3rd round, far as I was concerned, his first two rounds, Tiger played like a amature Golfer. I grant you Peeble Beach greens were playing rough, extremely rough, however Tiger has always been a solid puter, and he proved that on the 3rd round. The 3rd round showed he had his Mojo, he was playing like it was fun, he was making unbelieveable 2nd shots, and putting like a pro. You don't win a Major with just one greatround of golf, on his 4th round of golf he was -2 going into the 18 holes, and he was either so distracted, or the night before was distracted and lost his Mojo once again. Phil, old lefty at least still has fun playin golf, Tiger isn't having fun anymore, and until he starts golfing and truly starts enjoying the game again, he will never win another Major. I feel sorry for him, due to his stupidity in his private marital life, he has lost millions in sponsorship, fan base, soon to loose many millions in his divorce, and his Mojo to win is costing him future millions to win. For the way Tiger is still playing this year and half of last year, I just dont see why he is still ranked No. 1, cause he isn't a number one caliber golfer right now. I will still be a loyal fan, but very disappointed in his golfing abilities. There are several very good young golfers pouncing on his heels, and will over take him quickly if he doesn't get his head out of his pants and get back to enjoying his game and wining, and learn to react with the fans and not be such a a hole on the golf course.
Tiger Woods, if your father could come down from the heavens, he would slap you upside the head and tell you he was so disappointed.
Top-5 finishes in the first 2 majors of the year. Not bad for someone with no confidence, no-swing, and a two-may miss. He wins at St.Andrews with the wire-wire lead. I'll wager my spanking new iPad on it.
Tiger will win at St. Andrews. It is his favorite course and he knows it and we know it. If you listened to his press conference during the week of the U.S Open, he was asked the question, " What would be your four ideal courses in majors each year?" Tiger's response, " I would pick St. Andrews all four times" I know he was being sarcastic, but that proves St. Andrews is Tiger's house. As for all you Tiger haters out there, get a life! You can say what you want, but Tiger is on comeback trail. Each week his game is slowly improving. I think what Tiger is saying about his game is true. He is really working at it and I think we are starting to see the results all of us know or knew. You guys who are complaining about Tiger are bigger losers than you think he is. You have no life and no respect. Leave the great Tiger alone!
Tiger needs the bimbettes on the side. It's part of his whole ego/head lion thing that is required for his confidence so that he can perform consistently on a high level.
tiger is still a great player, i dont care what he does off the golf course only on it.he will definately win another major leave him be we all make mistakes.he will surpass jacks tally of 18 easily.

This is a gathering of links, stories and votes that the editors at NBCSports.com like. Hopefully, Newsvine also like 'em.
Maybe he didn't win because he wasn't with his children on Father's Day, or he was thinking about Earl, or one of his bimbos.
