It's funny how one bad call by a referee that cost a good pitcher a great feat that only comes around once in a score, but in essence will go down in history as probably the best no-hitter that never went to the scoreboard, I sincerely believe that some force guided Joyce's hands to later show what great sportsmanship can be shown from professional sports participants, despite the negative behavior displayed by most pro athletes,coaches and officials that we are witness to on a daily basis, this was a much needed breath of fresh air...
Selig is right. You can't change this one without going back and looking at previously pitched perfect games to see whether a wrong umpire's call would have affected those games, too. The sometimes imperfection of umpires is a part of the game. Leave it alone.
