Remeber the lakers has kobe the celtics has the big 3 or in coach rivers mind the celtics have the big 15. id say the celtics have this in 6. how the lakers been playing that they barely got through the suns they are not going to win that easy in Boston.

Actually, the Lakers have 2 players that weren't part of the NBA Finals 2 years ago. It's all about defense this series, which the Lakers didn't have much of in 2008. Ron Artest will shut down Paul Pierce. And Bynum will be there in the middle this time. Yes, Bynum isn't healthy, but just his presence will cause problems and it will help Gasol not get pushed around so much. Gasol is much better as power forward. This will be a classic series. Could go 7 games possibly....but I give the edge to the Lakers. Wooo.

I figure the Lakers should defeat the Celtics in six games. Both teams are banged up and tired as these playoffs take a lot out of a person; even a professional (well toned) athlete. The team who converts the home field advantage and wins at home will make it. I have been a Laker fan since the early 1960s so I would like to see them win another title. I would like to see Phil Jackson break a tie with Red Aurbach of the Celtics for the number of NBA titles.

Revenge is a dish best served cold and it will be very cold this year in LA for the Ancient Celtics. Kobe, Gasol and Odom remember well that 37 point humiliation in game 6 two years ago and they are going to exact revenge now. Two years ago the Aging Gang Green got off light playing an injured Laker team that missed Bynum and Ariza. This year Bynum may not be 100% but he'll give Celtic bigs trouble. Ron Artest will be Too Fierce for Paul Fierce, yeah Ron is the perfect trade now considering that the Lakers have the Celtics for a revenge match. Lakers in 6! Maybe in 5 since Lakers will want to erase 2008.

Celtics 9 - Lakers 2 championship series record up against each other.....While Kobe was amazing last night - his head is toooo big and it will get the best of him. The best thing Boston can do it let Kobe go off - as his team loses all its rhythm when this happens - and Kobe (even though he thinks so) can't win a game by himself!

Good luck Laker fans - you will never even this series - Celtics will always hold the edge on championship titles straight up with LA.

BTW - your cheerleaders are definitely more "enhanced" - we prefer natural things out East. Natural things like "team" basketball...not one superstar wanna be.

Boston in 6

Looking at who each dispatched to get to the Finals I would have to go with Boston. They've had the Lakers' number for decades. They took out the two hottest teams going into the playoffs and dethroned the team with the best record. They're better on the road, and for the most part everyone shows up for every game. Kobe, Odom,Bynum, Gasol...they disappear sometimes, like Gasol did in last night's game 6. The Lakers are just too inconsistent, and their record against the better Eastern Conference teams wasn't good. They may still win it, after all revenge is a pretty good motivation, but they'll need all seven games plus a little luck in doing it

You can throw all the stats out on this series. Remember that in 08, our Lakers walk thru its oponents in the playoff while boston had to grind to get to the final while our Lakers had a nice rest. That's what happened to the Magic this year and it took them few games to adjust to the speed of the game again. This year is a different scenario all together. Both teams ended its divisional playoff with in 24 hours of each other and both teams are adjusted to the speed of the game. Two years ago, it took our Lakers few games to adjust to the speed of the game but this year, both teams appeared to have the momentum to make this into a heck of a Championship series.

Pau have the foot speed and length to battle Garnett. No adavantage for either team there.

Ron Artest will guard Paul Pierce. No advantage for either team there, unless Paul gets the superstar treatment from the refs.

Bynum can roam the paint. Even with his limited mobility, he can guard there big men and help out in the middle. No advantage there. (Lamar have the speed to play Rasheed man up - Advantage= Lakers)

Fish will guard Allen. Advantage boston.

Kobe will guard Rando and force Rando to give up the ball. Advantage Lakers.

Overall team defense - Even.

Hearts and determination - Even
