Lakers in 5. Congrats Suns making it this far. Good job. Well done. Now the cold dark reality, the Lakers are just better. GO LAKERS.
As I said earlier, the Lakers will step it up and again and whip the Suns in six games. The Suns are good but the Lakers are better and have a title to defend. With the heigth they have and Pasol beginning to score more points than he did all season, the Lakers will play the Cavaliers for the NBA Title.
Yeah, since there's no player named 'Pasol' and the Cavaliers are out, I'm gonna listen to you, Big Bruce.
Through out the playoffs, the Suns has always been picked to be the losing team.. it was with Portland..with San Antonio..now with the L.A. Lets just see how the series play out.
do not under estimate the SUNS capability this early, for all you know they might sweep the LAKERS too.... lol
I tip my hat to the Suns for a great playoff run however the LA Lakers have turned it up to the next gear and will move on. The Lakers 3 man rotation of big men is too much for the Suns. If the Lakers defend the three well they should win in 5 or 6 games.
The Lakers have no answer for Nash but the Suns have no answer for Gasol and Kobe. Lakers in 5.
The Lakers have no answer for the Suns bench either.
The Lakers are bigger, the Suns are faster.
Honestly, fanboyism aside, it could easily go either way.
And will probably go 7 games.
I think the Lakers will prevail, but it figures to be a very, very tough series and I expect it to go at least 6 games. The physical condition of Kobe and Bynum for the Lakers and Steve Nash for the Suns could very well tip this series either way as it wears on.
ask this question after game 1 and see the comments. it might be a good game. tell me if you agree with me in the aspect that the suns are fast as fast as the thunder but a better defender and scorer. so its not like the lakers super dominated okc. thunder hung in there in that series.so i think that they (lakers) will still win but not by huge margins . the suns to me dont seem that good but they could suprise. im sure they are hungrier and playing the lakers to me would make teams more fired up. and im suprised suns beat spurs
Lakers are said to be longer but are you all telling me Pau Gasoft is going to give the Suns more trouble than Tim Duncan? Also Robin Lopez, the man who revamped the Suns ability to play defense is on the verge of returning to play.
There is no way that Fisher is going to be able to stop Nash from drving to the basket. Two great defenders in Grant Hill and Dudley will be guarding Kobe this series, so look to him to go back to percentages similar to the LA vs Thunder series. With J Rich being freed up from not having to worry about Kobe on the defensive end, look for him to put up huge numbers. Also with the ability to put Channing Frye on the floor it will take one of the Lakers big men out of the lane to guard the perimeter, so rebounding opportunities for LA will minimized. LA's bench is sub par compared to Phx it will be a tough match but Phx will take it in 6 games.
Who cares? BOTH of these teams are the epitome of arrogance and poor sportsmanship - I'm done with the NBA, this match up was contrived. Now I really believe it's all rigged.
oh my god dianne. why ? the NBA as we know it is done without you. why would u do such a thing ? come back love :)
seriously though, if it wasn't for soccer and basketball, sports wouldn't be worth watching. i like to see sports with lean fit athletes, running up and down the field or court the whole time, not boring fatty cholesteroled hot dog munching baseball or football, where the ball only come into contact with the foot 1% of the time. and golf ? drinking beer and playing ain't exactly a sport. baseball is so boring, the announcers spend 90% of the time saying "and here comes a 1-2 pitch" and the rest about personal stuff that has nothing to do with the sport...the great american naptime.
Yep, Lakers making it to the finals 50% of the time, its fixed. HAHAHAHAHA. Good one. GO LAKERS.
It's interesting how the Suns whooped the Spurs in 4... they have a bench that's almost as strong as their starters, and you all are still excited about the Lakers. Let's all visit this page after the 5 game lesson the Suns give to the Lakers. Suns in 5!!! Go Suns!!!
Does not matter to me. MAGIC have the best record now AND HOME COURT ADVANTAGE. Just keep the POLITICAL BS out of the NBA and have a good series.
The Suns have a good team and are exciting to watch. However, the Lakers have a (slightly) better team and Kobe Bryant, who has more heart than all the players that will be on the floor. And Kobe (and his teammates) want another ring. No disrespect to the Suns but I think the Lakers have more firepower and play better defense. It will not be a cakewalk but Lakers in 7!
"More heart than all the players that will be on the floor." That is one of the most ridiculous statements ever uttered. It is beyond ridiculous, more along the lines of laughable. Did you really want to go there? Put aside your apparent Kobe crush for a second and be fair with me. I am willing to accept the notion that Kobe is one of the greatest competitors the sport has ever had, no one can argue this, but that is where it ends. Not too long ago, Phil Jackson came out with a book titled, "The Last Season: A Team In Search of its Soul". I'm going to assume you read it. At one point in the book, he describes Kobe as, and I quote, "a callous gun for hire." Phil could not have said it better. Maybe he was on to something. Now, Kobe may have changed his no. and "reinvented" himself in the eyes of the media, and the Lakers may have won the championship last year, and winning, as we all know, heals all wounds, if not puts temporary stitches in. But that quote will always be there and Phil Jackson cannot take it back. I'll always be able to go to Youtube and type in "Kobe disses Bynum" or "Kobe disses Smush Parker" or "Kobe disses Lakers organization", you get the idea, and see what pops up. As far as I and many others are concerned, Kobe Bryant was one Pau Gasol away from packing his bags and upping and leaving, to where we'll never know, but he certainly voiced his displeasure didn't he? I mean no one escaped Kobe's wrath, not the front office, his teammates, his fans. And wow did Kobe go all in. I mean, the Clippers? Really? Even for Kobe that's cold. But that pretty much sums No. 24 up. A cold, conniving, ruthless competitor that will say or do anything in order to get his way, or better, his championship. If you don't agree with me, just look under the bus. Kobe Bryant does not hold a candle to Steve Nash, or this years Suns team. I would love to see what would happen in the event Kobe took an elbow to the eye and had to get temporarily stitched up in order to get back on the court. Would he get back out there to help his team? I dont know. I would love to find out. I'd love to watch Kobe shoot with literally one eye. And enough about the finger and the ankle. Are they bad injuries to have? Sure. But is he the only one out there suffering from them? Ankle and finger injuries are as commonplace in basketball as missing teeth are in hockey. You want to look at a bad ankle? Take a look at Grant Hill's. More heart? Steve Nash scored 10 pts and handed out 5 assists in the 4th quarter of a game that was perhaps one of the most franchise altering games in NBA history, doing so with one eye. It was arguably one of the most gritty, most captivating performances of any player in playoff history and I haven't even mentioned what Goran Dragic did in game 3. Steve Nash could have sat out the 4th quarter but he decided to end it right there. He knew what a game 5 in Phoenix would mean and he helped the Suns gut out an impressive won on the Spurs homecourt. The San Antonio Spurs owned us for the better part of a decade and we swept them. You think that didn't do something for the collective confidence of the Suns? I cannot wait till you find out. Steve Nash has more heart than Kobe Bryant will ever have, regardless of whether or not he ends up hoisting the Larry O'Brien trophy. Lakers have more heart? Steve Nash and Grant Hill alone are more classy and have more heart than your team could ever hope for. Suns in 6.

I think the Lakers will step it up a little more and win the series in six games. The Suns are a good team but the Lakers are better.
