He is a very selfish imature person and player who wants to win for himself not the city he plays, for not the fans who support the team and players. it is all about him self, money, fame and fortune, what a short sighted man reminds me of a Michael Vick oblivious to right & wrong good or bad. He does not make a team better, he just happens to be a very good player and ahtlete not a better man or person who takes his team to a chapionship. Magic, Bird, Jordon, Kobe make there teams better, the players around them better for having played with them. Lebron is all about Lebron who cares what city or team he play on I do not want to see team Lebron I want to see the Blazers team, Celtics team, Spurs team trying to win it for their city & fans not Lebrons team trying to win it for Lebron.
Who cares where he plays!

He's spoiled and the fact that he ran the show in the Cavaliers office is disgraceful. Where's the self-respect of Mike Brown, Ferry or Dan Gilbert??? He was fun to watch when he was interested in playing in Cleveland. Now he's made it awful clear that he's not. Let him go pout somewhere else. We'll survive. We always do --- this is Cleveland.
#3 - Mon May 17, 2010 2:22 PM EDTBeing a Clevelander I want him to stay because he's our ONLY chance to bring home a winner, eventually that is. It's just a shame that he has other plans that include being the first player to earn a billion dollars. With goals like that, no wonder he roots for the Yankees and the Cowboys. Maybe being born into poverty explains his drive to be mega rich. Lebron is loyal to Lebron and Lebron only. If staying with the Cavs suits his plan, he stays. If not, he'll be gone faster than the Colts left Baltimore.
Watching the warmth and camaraderie with his teammates during the regular season, then the coldness of the play-offs tells me he made his decision during the Chicago series. Maybe Noah's comments about Cleveland hit "home" and he decided to bolt in free agency. The "injury" to his arm appeared as mysteriously as it went away. The whole "Lebron" story from the end of the season to now seems to be part of a story that only he can explain and he won't. His behavior is so bizarre it defies explanation. Whatever the outcome, it CAN"T be good for Cleveland. His behavior that was so important to the Lebron persona took a major hit with this most recent character flaw. He wants a movie about his life. He wants to be a movie star. His ambitions are huge. His ego even larger. He has put the entire sports world on it's ear and brought Cleveland to it's knees. You will see all of Cleveland beg him to stay.
He will thrive in this environment and the attention it will bring him. I see talk shows begging for an appearance. He and his team "will" decide what's best for him? I think the decision has already been made. His "team" will decide on what stage to announce his decision and when. All of the drama will just be another chapter in the "Lebron Story". After all of this plays out I just wonder what is left. Will he be a desirable teammate? Will he be coach-able? Or will that ego be impossible to win all the marbles with. Maybe if he stays with the Cavs he will eventually own the team. Then he could play against MJ's team and if Kobe could get the Lakers...who knows. That could be a draw to stay. Say if he wins 6 championships in Cleveland he could end up a majority owner of the Cavs. I wonder if Dan Gilbert and Stern would go for it. It's a thought... In the meantime, I'm preparing for a Lebron-less future. Six weeks from today, let the offers begin. What follows will be front page for a few days then life goes on. The way it has after every loss Cleveland has endured. Life goes on.
#5 - Mon May 17, 2010 3:33 PM EDTSorry for you and other Clevelanders, lex, because it appears that Lebron 2010 is a far cry from the rookie L as a person. I'm not saying that he is a bad guy with legal or emotional baggage. But he has definitely lost the humility and grounded attitude that he seemed to have when he arrived on scene. He has listened to the never-ending acclaim and bought into the "king" crap.
Even his greatest fans know that he never has done anything to earn that tag. His one appearance to the NBA finals that resulted in a sweep by the Spurs made everybody think, "Wait until he matures and then watch out!"
Well, we're still waiting and he is still just another superstar that does not make his team better. Danny Ferry acquired Shaq (slightly used up) and other support players to produce excellent regular season results but there did not seem to be a strong enough team chemistry to carry that success through the playoffs. Maybe the pre-game antics of L and the gang were more for show and less for dough (figuratively speaking, playoff success).
Even though I'm not a Cav fan, my bottom line, lex & Cav fans, is that I'm hoping that he stays home and works out the kinks in his ego so that he can at least learn what loyalty means. We all know that he will earn more $$ than he deserves where ever he signs. How much do you need, L?
Greed is NOT good. Ie.. Wall Street (the movie not withstanding.)
If he doesn't stay, I wish him continued lack of success.
I was at game 5, and it was sad the way the fans got quiet and then boo'd when things got rough and, in fact, the Cavs needed the fans. The fans could have said "You go Cavs, we got your back - great season, no matter what - we love you!". Instead, they said "oh, no here we go again..". At the critical juncture the fans turned on the team - presumably to save themselves from even more bitter heartbreak, by admitting the were too close to their dreams. This type of collective behavior is a defense mechanism, but reflects the underlying weakness of Cleveland and Clevelanders. We are loser - until we believe/know otherwise. Until then, we are doomed to relive our past.

Plus, Lebron will be making so much cash from Madison Ave, that he will not miss that hole in the wall they call the Mistake by the Lake, Cleveland! I think Lebron and his family will love it here in NY, and like I said, before long, NY will be giving Lebron & his Court a Ticker Tape Parade down the Canyon of Heroes and celebrating a NY Knicks NBA Championship! Welcome to your new home Lebron!!!

Yes there will be ego problems. Remember his age, after a couple of seasons building, some younger "king" will take his place. In the end, he will turn out like Sir Charles, Carl Malone, Patrick Ewing, and so many others. And the story goes..............

They are not comparing him to Kobe anymore at least becuse it is rediculous. He needs to go to a team where someone can cover his choking performances, Bulls or Clippers would be good. Cleveland should just give up on pro sports, building their economy, or tourism. They have lost more people than any other city in the US over the past 10 years. Why would anyone want to stay there???? No wonder it was picked as the most miserable US city.
