I'd rather have drafted 2 goats & a cow! we are doomed!!!!!! Can't wait to see this coach get fired!!!!!!!!
Too bad, you'll be so sorely disappointed. All that kid's going to do is be a winner for you. I love seeing all the 'haters' come out. Most can't argue with his talent, they hate because of his religious views, which by the way, ARE RIGHT. Get over yourself. Your about to enjoy a ride like no other. (We did for 4 incredible years. Go Gators!) Tim will make your pathetic Broncos a contender soon enough.
Tebow is big, durable, and has an intense work ethic and amazing will to win. Those qualities earned him a Heisman trophy as a sophomore. He also won the Maxwell Award deeming him the nation's top football player, the Davey O'Brien Award as the nation's best quarterback, and the James E. Sullivan Award as the nation's most outstanding amateur athlete in any sport. He helped win an NCAA national championship.
Doomed? Really? You'd rather have Clausen? And Clausen has won what?
I'll take a winner like Tebow anyday. I'm not a Broncos fan, but that was a great move.
The NFL is not the SEC. Most of his passes in the nfl would have never been thrown because he would have been on his back.
I love the how many rings comment. individuals perform teams win championships big difference.
David - his religious views aren't RIGHT just because they match yours. Get over yourself.
Savage!! How cool it is that you're posting here on this sports thread. And I do not mean that in a belittling or sarcastic way at all. I like your spirit and I agree with your post, chica!
When it is all played out in 10 years or so and Tim is hailed as one of the greatest QB's ever, all those haters will be singing his praises. What amazes me is that Ben has so many supporters and Tim so many haters. If I owned a team I would have drafted him with my first pick to put some decency back in the sport. Go Tim GO !!
Why do people have to be haters when they disagree with others. I think Tebow was a good late second round early third round choice. How can you people say a person hates if he has an opinion which is worth as much and sometimes more than your own?
If you owned a team, you would draft for decency? so you could have a team of moral all stars. I wonder how that would go over with the people paying PSLs of $10-20K? I happen to love Tebow as a person, but as an NFL QB, I don't think he will make it. He could have some time in the league due to wildcat and other trick plays, but thats more of a gimmick. and no , please dont say I want Michael Vick types, I dont.
what I dont like about Tebow is the hard sell of religon. The nonsense of the "his mother was urged to get an abortion" super bowl ad. That was insulting- I've been to The Philippines, its a dominantly catholic country where a Dr wouldn't do that. all the folks that think this draft choice validates their religous beliefs are being foolish.
all this being said, I would have used a 3rd round or lower on him.
Tebow was a very expensive mistake. If you make this mistake you want to make it in the late 2nd or 3rd round (he would have still been available). Why move up in the first round to get Tebow when no other team wanted him especially in the 1st round. So he cost the Broncos the 25th overall pick and three other picks 43rd, 70th and the 114th pick. Stroke of genius by Ozzy Nwesome and the Ravens.
Denver is too liberal of a town for this crazy christian. He's gonna have to tone-down the bible talk, or he'll be hated here fast.
But Colorado Springs isn't that far and the good state of Colorado has a LOT of crazy (and gay! LOL) evangelicals. Part of me hoped the Vikings would take Tebow - I'd love to see him try that John 3:16 crap in a secular state where over 30% of population is non-religious, agnostic or atheist! LOL That would have been hilarious!
Actually, except for the city of Denver, most of the metro area and Colorado are pretty conservative. Colorado has a huge evangelical community who will love this guy. And, let's face it, the man is a team leader, a community leader, and a heckuva football player.
Great pick.
I hope he does well. He is one of the few decent kids coming into the league. He is a workhorse will never do anything to embarrass his team or the league. Besides that, he has proven that even so called 'mechanical flaws' that he can win football games. He has more heart than 10 Colt McCoys, Claussen's or Bradfords put together. I am not a Denver fan but I am going to watch all the time now just to see an indivual who is playing a game because he loves it...not because it can fill his bank account.
GO TEBOW....Denver....superman is coming to town!!!!
Really? He has more heart than Claussen or McCoy or Bradford? How do you know know remotely what is inside any of these young men. I'm sure tebow willplay the game for just the league minimum.
Smart move by Denver. He'll be a great asset to whole league!
Denver and Colorado in general are not liberal it's all the outsiders moving in bring there oppinions with them. My vote is that all Christians should walk the walk and talk the talk. It never hurts to have a leader that will carry that cross Thanks Tim. We are all imperfect beings which brings quick judgment when we fail, We are given the gift of forgiveness not judgement somehow that has been confused. Tim will need the learning curve, even Elway made us pull our hair out in his early years. I do hope the Broncos have found the franchise QB.
Great move. I love Tebow. He is so humble and gracious. I will pray for the non-believers who hate him. He is a workhorse. I have just become a Denver Broncos fan.
why do you pose the people that feel he wont be a viable NFL QB as haters and non believers? This isn't a sarcastic question. Its an honest request for clarification.
Tebow has the physicality and talent to make it as a Pro Quarterback. As much as I like Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy, both seem quite a bit more frail than Tebow. Same with Claussen. Although physical stature at QB is sometimes overcome by a Doug Flutie, not often nowadays. All four of these QBs have the potential, and the right attitude; however, as so much depends on ability to protect the QB from the defensive monsters playing nowadays, Tebow's size is a plus - passing technique can be changed and improved. Much will depend on team mates' skills and attitudes for all four.
Congrats Denver- you just traded a boatload of pics for the next Gino Toretta.
Cutler and Marshall were entitled jerks who only cared about themselves, not the team. Replacing them with most anyone is a step in the right direction.
Everybody's jealous of Tebow... good-looking (uh, make that GREAT-looking) 2 National Championships, Heisman trophy winner, college graduate, great strength, great family, great heart, great character, great work ethic. Everyone will hate him just because of envy and jealousy. Tebow should have been 1st pick,... he's strong as an ox and healthy.
St. Louis will regret their decision and the Denver Broncos will be Super Bowl Champions with Tim Tebow at the helm. St. Louis will continue to be losers. Someone should be FIRED at St. Louis.
Jesus Christ was a perfect man and He wasn't accepted. I understand why some non Christians don't like Tebow because of what he stands for, which is good and right. It takes a real man to stand up for that which is right. Tim Tebow is a man and a great football player too. What more could you want? Don't worry what the skeptics think or say, just do you thing, Tim. God Bless

Are they giving him jersey 3:16?
