No. Of course not. Kareem, Magic, Wilt, Jerry, George Mikan for Pete's sake. Sorry Kobe.
With all of the superlatives heaped upon Kareem, Magic, Wilt, West, Baylor et al; all very deserved; I think Kobe certainly deserves to be in the discussion and very high on the list.
These other Laker teams were talent landen teams. After Shaq left Kobe didn't get any real help until Gasol arrived. Yet Kobe got the team to the playoffs except one year. Not shabby for a guard.
Good Luck Lakers!
Not only no, but hell no. not even close. I'm a former Laker Fan and will be one again when cry baby Kobe retires.
No, never! 10 championships and he is still just Kobe...Kobe who could have won but chose his personal glory over the team. He's had some great moments. Selfishness, ego and his childish behavior will keep him from ever becoming "great."
Kobe would go over Wilt (as a Laker ONLY, not as a player overall), but not Magic and probably not Kareem either. Kobe was clearly #2 on the first three title teams, and after their third one he was clearly both the Lakers' greatest weapon and their own worst enemy until he finally started to figure out how to truly defer to teammates again last year. And at some point, I can't really ever accept Kobe in a greatest ever player conversation with game 7 against Phoenix in mind. They had to practically drag Magic off the floor in chains to get him to stop trying to play through a season-ending injury in the '89 Finals, while Kobe was willing to sink his own team's season just to make a point. If he ever catches Bill Russell maybe I'll consider it. Until then, he was on Shaq's coattails for three of his championships and sank at least two more trying to get off them.

He's a selfish crybaby, that doesn't make him the greatest Laker and neither do the titles.
