What a joy to live at a time when the most dominant players are playing in every sport, need I exclaim the names...Tiger, Kobe and Lebron, Albert, Peyton, . The stats tell the whole story and the story transcends all sports.
Leave Tiger out of the most dominant players please. He doesn't deserve anyone's admiration. Neither does Kobe. If I ever hear one thing about LeBron James acting up, that will really be sad. More people should be like Phil Mickelson. Seems like a decent family man.
Thank goodness this despicable person did not win lest we hear ad nauseum about it. For so many reasons he deserves to be humbled like this. Why should he even have the opportunity to engage in an enjoyable activity while his beleaguered wife and kids remain at home, enduring the legacy of his decadent, perverted and self-centered behavior. Most of us would be pariahs by now except he plays golf and makes millions so he experiences no social disapprobation but rather kudos for perservering. No father desires his son behave like this, no mother would want her daughter to date him, by anyone's standards, no boy should emulate him and no girl should strive to marry a guy like him, yet he has the audacity to pump his fist after sinking a putt...what a joke he is and anyone who advocates for him merely because he golfs well is as much a fool...by the way, he's a dope, he never graduated from Stanford, as did I, and still knows not the difference between how to properly use adverbs and adjectives as he was quoted today as saying "I didn't hit the ball good."
chaos, you don't know nothing about this man except, what tv tell you. And you sound like a woman, most if not all MEN don't MESS in there house, that if they are getting FED every day the way they want to get fet, like there were being fed before they got married. And as you well know if your a woman, you don't give it up like a porn star would, and yes I am saying that most not all Men wsant a woman in the street, but a freak in the sheets. And don't put his kids into this all they know is when are you going to feed me, there babies.
God I am sick of this whole subject. Tiger is just another example of putting people on a pedistal to knock them down. God knows he brought this on himself - and I understand the "moral outrage" that so many of you have.
Is he still the best golfer in the world - probably not at this point. I'm an avid golfer and golf takes mental preparedness and focus - two things Mr. Woods is sorely lacking at this point.
To say he won't return to his pre-7 iron to the head dominance is true - but you idiots who think he is washed up are completely mistaken. The guy is a freak of nature on the golf course when his head is right. Not the worlds best person, but a hell of a golfer.
AND - all you people droning on and on regarding his sainted wife...she isn't walking away from this deal without $75 million. I love my wife, but hell, $75 million would make me very happy and secure for the rest of my life. Not a bad return for a few years marriage!
tiger is a good player but will never match Jacks 38 wins/runner-ups in majors! Keep dreaming Tiger!
look idiot tiger does not play to be runner-up - he plays to win . he will break jack's 18 major wins and there is nothing you will be able to do about it. i'm sure that you realize that - even though you resent it - so you have decided to change the argument. too bad!! when this is all said and done, he would have won more major titles than jack and he would be the greatest. just like ali, he considered himself the greatest whether people liked it or not. so hater eat your heart out.
Tiger doesn't deserve to win another major ever. I wonder what bimbo he had with him at this event. Could be Augusta told him not to even think about it. What I really liked is how he was already cursing on the first tee. Now that my friends comes from a man that has learned something from rehab. Not! Let him go live with his bimbos and leave the rest of us decent people alone. You are right about one thing Tiger, just like you mentioned on the first tee, "Tiger Woods, you suck".
phil mickelson is a class man 100%. lee westwood, who battled all day only to lose another close one, is also a class man 100%. he even gave kudos to mickelson, and said "he deserved a break or two." what did woods say? nothing about mickelson. nothing about his other competitors. only about his only selfish problems "not hitting the ball good". woods makes me sick.
I've got to admit, I don't recall golf ever having a more despicable character than Woods. He John Daly doesn't come close. John was just a drunk. Tiger is an egotistical scumbag. Heck, even before his affairs came to light, he was known for his cussing and lack of respect for the fans who pay is bills. One thing for sure, Tiger and "class" will never be mentioned in the same sentence. Even Earl is probably rolling over in his grave, if for no other reason than being furious at Tiger for throwing away all the money on blond bimbos and losing all those endorsements. Oh well, the final chapter has yet to be written. If he was smart, he'd ask Phil Mickelson for a counseling session to find out how he can be nice, respectful, a real family man, and be good at golfing, all at the same time.
witchrunner, let me get this straight, if your husband was the best business man at his job, and you stop doing what he klike behind close door, and he went to a porn star, to have his dream come true. And you did not work a day in your life and made no money, you would divorce him fined another man, but he would stillbe the best business man around, I know you would like all Men to be like phil, second best at his job, just as long as he bring home his paycheck to you. And you call yourself a witch, So why do Men get married?? Don't throw stone in a glass house.
Any course that does not have the extra par 5 hole on it [a par 71 course like Rivera] is a no-go for Woods [which is why he stopped playing there]. On the par 3's and 4's he is just average most of the time. He makes his rounds on the par 5's. He might win at St. Andrews because it is a pretty short layout compared to most PGA courses now in use. It will be interesting to see if he can control his conduct in the future. He did disavow his effort to "respect the game more" by the throwing of clubs and cursing over the weekend [ GD it! J.C.! brought my wife out of her chair] so that is one vow he has broken already. Will be interesting to see if he "falls off the wagon" with respect to avoiding the bimbos.
Wow, a lot of people here forget that they live in glass houses. No playing with stones, folks!
This isn't about "glass houses." This is about the character of the man....need I mention Arnie, Jack, Gary, Ben, Sam, Walter....come on...you might be impressed by the swearing on the golf course but most of us that treasure the game, don't.
Just like his name, he will spend most of his time in the woods in the future....or at Pebble, in the Pacific Ocean....or at St. Andrews, in the bern.
Hope you enjoy your next game on the links.....alone.
How do you know these guys don't have skeletons in their closet? I'm not saying they do, but you cannot assume things. No one in this world is perfect and we are not judges.
I for one enjoy watching him play the game and will continue to do so. His private life is none of my business.
Confused: It is no wonder you are confused. How do you have conversations if you are so fearful of "judging" someone? First off, as for Tiger, this isn't a matter of "judging" him. All comments are based on the facts of what he has done. Are we supposed to say, in light of his cheating, cussing, and terrible temper that he is an upstanding person? If you think cheating on your spouse repeatedly as if she doesn't exist, cussing (in christian no less by a Buddhist), throwing clubs, etc. are great characteristics a human being should thrive for, then I can understand why you'd be confused that others may disagree.
Everyone makes judgments about people. You have too. If you didn't, how could you make any decision on who to trust and who not to trust. Unless you decide that no one is to be trusted and everyone has skeletons in their closets that makes them evil people, then it is necessary to make observations and reach conclusions. Am I always right in the conclusions I reach? Heck no. But, one lives and learns and goes forward from their. If you don't have judgments, how do you decided who to vote for?
That being said, Arnie, Jack, Gary, Ben, Sam, Walter, Phil and many others have had good full lifetimes for people to reach opinions on them. Just based on the way they conduct themselves, I'd venture to guess that they are the way they seem. Tiger never seemed to be in the same class and has shown that he isn't. His cheating on Elin may be classified as his private life, but his cussing and throwing clubs and disregard for golfing fans is not. He likes to win, but he is one heck of a sore loser.
Confused: I couldn't have said it better myself. I sure everyone on this discussion page has a skeleton or two in their closet. Not one of us is perfect. Remember judge not lest ye also be judged.
Consider for a moment....Tiger, wallowing in the woods and Phil putting for eagles. Tiger, alone and miserable....Phil...thrilled and his family was right there to greet him.....IF....IF Tiger could have won....very doubtful to pass 3 great players....where would Elin have been....winging her way somewhere on a private jet away from her kids and "former" husband.
The contrast between Phil and Tiger was magnified on Sunday....class vs. the class-less.
A family man vs. a womanizer. Don't ever put Tiger in the same sentence with Jack, Arnie and Gary....oh, Tiger "might" win another major..maybe even a minor tournament but he should never be compared to those three gentlemen nor to Phil. AMEN.
Rick you invoke the names of Jack, Arnie and others but yourself don't want to see how they treat Tiger. They still talk of him with great respect, which again speaks of their character. If you are going to compare then try to be more like Jack, Arnie and others who have forgiven Tiger and are glad to see him back playing the game of golf. I have not seen anyone of them talk bad of Tiger and I would venture to bet that they won't, which, again speaks volumes of their character. If I were you I would try to be more like them.
Watching Tiger place 4th in the Masters, and/or even watching him drink water from a water bottle is more exciting than watching Phil Mickelson any day, any time. I really wanted Tiger to win for a million and one reasons, but equally, I wanted ANYONE to win but lumbering 'ole Phil, Freddie for instance - ANYONE but Phil. Phil has the charisma of day-old bread, and watching him play golf, either in person or on television, is like watching grass grow...yawn...
If golf was all about the Phils of the world, I'd probably go back to bowling...I could use the rest. But Tiger's back and I'll be tuning in to, or attending, every tourney he plays!
I've got to disagree on the fun of watching Phil [a slimmed down version this year] play a round of golf. We followed him for a while at Houston a couple of weeks ago and it was entertaining to say the least. I am not a great Phil fan, and frequently refer to him as "bonehead" going back to when he broke both ankles while skiing, almost ending his golfing career. But he is a relentless gambler on the course. On one hole in Houston he out hit the other two guys by 50 yards, but they were in the fareway and he was in the trash. They made par and he hit a Ballesteros kind of recovery from the woods/trash and made birdie. I just shook my head. We followed him for a few more holes then jumped to Padraig Harrington who was entertaining the gallery with some water shots of his own. He is both fun and frustrating to watch. Woods just does not respect the game with his antics.
Tiger will probably win a major this year, 2010. I don't think Phil is up to it.
i am amazed that so many people are so quick to judge him. yes, he made a major mistake in his personal life. i have enjoyed watching him play for years along with phil mickleson, they are true professionals. let him do what he does best play golf.

it's so sad and pathetic to hear people wish the worst for Tiger Woods because he messed up BIGTIME in his personal life. The funny thing is all the HATERS on here have a "Glass House" . Just to be clear i don't condone what he did and he let down his Family and the youth of today who looked up to him. With that being said, those who choose to get upset and post negative comments....I ask the question, are you perfect? Ok then SHUT IT! and stop the hatred that is consuming you. Once Tiger Woods regains his form and get back on track MENTALLY, he will go back to being the same Player he was before all this. Look we all face hurdles in our lives, we all have been given 2nd chances during our lifetime. STOP DWELLING ON WISHING SO MUCH BAD KARMA on Tiger and concentrate on being the best person you can be. Hold yourselves accountable. Just my humble opinion but i'm sure some Dip$hit will beg to differ to blow off steam for not feeling COMPLETE and at peace!
I think it was 1993 and I had just lost my Father and a Famous Basketball Player by the name of Michael Jordan had lost his Dad also. I remember how the Media attacked him for somehow being responsible for his Father's death due to his involvement with 1 or 2 shady individuals who he gambled with. At a time when Jordan was dealing with a personal loss, The Media and Haters closed in on him, and put a stranglehold on his reputation. It became so Bad that because of these Ba$tard$ he quit the game and went to play Baseball in the Minor league. Of course once the DEGENERATES involved in the Elder Jordan's death were arrested. It was revealed it was a random act and had nohing to do with MJ. I see the lesson hasn't been learned keep spreading hate towards Tiger and you will drive him from the game he Dominates. Or maybe that's the Hater's intention all along! hmmm just a thought. Maybe haters they are taking this as the opportune time to Chastise Tiger so that he will leave the Game short of passing "The Golden Bear" Jack Nicklaus.... I'm just sayin':) otherwise it might be worth saying that I'm both a friend to Jack and Tiger ...but again I'm just sayin'

It's a matter of short time-he was fabulous overall and came so close-thrilling today and so glad to be able to watch him play again!!
