Phony ?? All i see is a very gracious, family man that is a fan-favorite for a reason. He acknowledges the crowd's presence and they feel his appreciation.

This story should have been about Mickelson and Westwood, the winner and the runner up, not Tiger Woods who came in 4th. Woods should have gotten no more than a paragraph. Focus on the winners.

Tiger is why I watch golf. Personal issues aside, he is a much better player. I am surprised he did as well as he did this weekend and but for the inconsistent play on Saturday and Sunday, would have won.

Now to satisfy all the white country club closet racists, we're going to hear that Mickelson is really better than Woods ad nauseum. Does anybody remember the GQ survey of the most despised athletes a couple of years ago? Mickelson was on the list...with the nickname of "FIGJAM" from his fellow pros: F...k I'm good; just ask me! Woods ia a jerk too, but he hasn't played in almost half a year. He didn't "choke" as the headlines suggest; he was erratic from lack of tournament play. Sportswriters are idiots, and so are people who take their little mind games seriously.

Tiger will win many more than Mickelson.... just look how well he did after several months hiatus from the game. The guy is unstoppable. He is also in far greater physical shape than Mickelson, who borders on chubby.

It pains me to say this because I think Tiger nothing more than an animal (who should be in a cage)... Tiger will be on top again until his undoubtable 'slip-up' with the next stripper. Sure, he'll try to have it happen far far away, but make no mistake - the guy is hooked on sleaze and roughness. Happily hooked - enough so to risk losing his family. Over and over and over and over.... Think he's changed or rehabilitated? Think again.

I would hope Mickelson would but doubt it. Tiger is younger and focuses on himself and his golf game. He did not give it up very long even though his wife asked him so they could work out their problems. Tiger is only after what Tiger wants. He thinks he is the greatest and may well be in golf in years ahead. But, other than his sleazy women, what else has he got going for him? I believe Elin has had all she can take of his superior attitude. He was my golden boy until he decided he could commit adultery over and over and never think what it would do to his wife or his children. So sad! And, I am a 67 year old white grandmother and don't call me a racist. I pray he gets his life turned around for his good and his family.

Phil has class. Tiger is an ass. But Tiger will win more Masters than Phil will...

All of these negative comments from golf watchers that buy the phony Mickelson family nonsense and the "Ah Shucks" veil. I have seen him and his prentencious wife up close and personal. Don't believe the television or media hype. They both have a tendency to perpetuate a myth that is not close to the truth. Tiger is the greatest, the numbers do not lie. In a few years even the racist 67 year old grandmother will have to bow.

Tiger has more currently and is younger...add to that, he came in 4th after 5 months off!  I know bigots and hypocrites (those who say Tiger is a dog for cheating but voted for John McCain ...who cheated) will poop in their pants about Mick...but Tiger is just better.

I don't like Tiger Woods because he is full of himself. Has temper tantrums and throws his clubs when he has bad shots. Just because someone is not white and people don't like him does not make them racists. Sometimes they have other reasons. I was a big fan of Michael Jordan because he conducted himself like a gentleman and a good sport. He's blacker than Woods. He was also a better ATHLETE. Golf takes talent and practice but golfers are pretty much pampered and do not have to endure the physical stress of other athletes.

The wondeful charm that @!$%# WOODS showed the last four days should convince all but a few @!$%# lovers that Woods is a disgusting scum bag.

After all, the boy hasn't connected for what - three, four months now. His bag must have been overloaded.

Because I watch a great deal of golf and always have since way before Tiger even started playing professionally, I would like to make the following points. 1) The only reason you see Tiger throwing clubs and hear him swearing is because when he is playing he is the only golfer they focus on. I recently watched a tournament where D.J. Trahan beat his driver on the tee box 4 times making a huge hole in the tee box. He was mad because he had hit a poor drive. If they ever showed any other golfer you would see what I mean. I have seen virtually every golfer including PHIL throw their clubs at one time or another. 2) The only reason I think Phil is a phony is because of what all the other players say about him. Many very nice tour pros cannot stand the man. He makes fun of the fans in the locker room and then sucks up to them on the course. The pros are the ones who gave him the nickname FIGJAM which stands for- "F word" I am good---just ask me! Interestingly, Vijay Singh who is not a fan favorite is one of the tour pros favorite golfers because he truly is gracious, kind and caring. It isn't an act. 3) One of these days PHIL is going to slip up and show his true colors and then we will see what all the fans think of him. I personally watched him play at the PGA championship in Tulsa. He is very arrogant and pompous in person. He is playing to the cameras at all times. For Tiger to not have played any competitive golf for five months and place 4th in the Masters is pretty amazing. And I bet CBS was really glad he made the cut so their viewership could be in the stratosphere this weekend!!

mickleson can't hold a candle to tiger. yes,tiger has made mistakes, but no worse than your politicians that you pay wages to. get off tiger. get a life. who are you to judge?

I guess when the entire freaking PGA tour went and did their pink out in honour of Amy last year and support came from all quarters of the tour for the Mickelson family, everyone must have been dying inside to have to hold their noses and support such horrible people. I, unlike some people have not seen Mickelson in person, but the "phony" I see on TV is nowhere near as arrogant and aloof as the "real" Tiger Woods. I thought the way he treated Peter Kostis was disgusting. He had just spent four days basking in forgiveness, acceptance and adulation and he was the same jerk during the Kostis interview as he always was.

Tiger only messed up because he wasn't allowed to bring one of his bimbos to Augusta. Won't be long before he is back in the saddle again with one of those whores or maybe all of them at once! I certainly hope one of those porn stars made a video and puts it out on the internet. Now, that would be funny. He can make his mother proud of him. Such a phony. We all thought he was such a nice guy. OOPS.

Oh and Jim, Tiger is worse then your garden variety politician. This weekend showed us two things about Tiger, that he is still an incredible golfer and that his actions this weekend have proven he has no remorse.

Like to watch them both. Tiger will win more of them.

I wish that when people are critical of Tiger Woods the response would not be "you are a racist". As far as I'm concerned there is only on race, the human race. My sports heroes include Jerry Rice, Shaquille O'Neal , Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali. My list of heroes also includes Joe Montana, Jack Nicklaus, Mickey Mantle and Larry Bird. I do not choose my heroes by anything other than excellence. I do admire Phil Mickelson, he is a great golfer and (from the one time I met him) seems like a very nice man. I do not like Tiger Woods for several reasons. The scandal has revealed a man that I would not want to have in my home, or around my family. His behavior on the links, the swearing, throwing clubs and other asinine behavior is not such that I would welcome from someone I was paired with at a match. None of my dislike with Tiger Woods has anything to do with the color of his skin. So please, when you hear from someone who dislikes Tiger Woods, stop the knee jerk "you are a racist" accusation. Because you have not moved beyond thinking that everything is linked to race; don't paint the rest of us with your dirty brush.
