NFL owners will vote next week whether to allow each team a possession in overtime in the playoffs if the team winning the OT coin toss kicks a field goal on the first series.
NFL to examine 2 possessions in playoffs OT

This is ridiculous.
This is a PROFESSIONAL sport; it's not Pop Warner! These are grown men getting paid millions of dollars to play a game. Sometimes, the better team doesn't win, but that's why they play the games.
And don't get me started on the fans.
If your team isn't good enough to stop the other team from scoring in OT, then they lose, plain and simple. That's FAIR. Changing the rules to give the opposition a chance to tie the game up will just baby the players and fans.
I know, some will argue it will make the game more competitive, but at what cost? The longer these guys play (and believe me, I'm not defending them as "players," but as humans) the more likely it is that they'll get injured.
I find the current OT rules to be perfectly acceptable, and don't think there is any reason to mess with the game any further. The NFL is already referred to as the "No Fun League," please don't continue to take away the fun.
