The Masters will be Tiger Woods' first competitive tournament since last November, so how will he fare?
he'll make the cut but I don't think he'll be in contention.......If he wins this tournament then the rest of the PGA should stop playing and find another profession.
Tiger has a long road back. His biggest challenge is to stay focus and picture each shot which he does better than anyone. Putting might be an issue even though he knows these greens. When your away from golf it takes some time for your short game to come back. He has a major challenge at the masters for all phases of your game need to be sharpe. Wishing him the best upon his return. His two top priorities is commitment to his family and god/Buda. Golf is secondary. Believe me he enjoys the challenge and competition of fellow PGA golfers.
Wish I had a ticket! I'd be right there! We all fall short! The last perfect person left this earth more than 2,000 years ago. He's found that out now. Let him make his living.
he's a jerk and i have enjoyed NOT having to watch the tiger show.
i hope he is hounded off the course by the reporters. with the shelter he will receive from tournament officials at the masters, it is understandable why he is "making his comeback" there vs the bay hill tournament where i'm sure he would be subjected to questioning from reporters and probably hecklers as well. i hope there are many people (fans?) snapping his picture.
i wish he would retire and never play competitively again. he doesn't need the money - even if he has lost $50 million from sponsors.
Why the anger? He's just a person. Granted, a high profile one. But this business of idolizing celebrities and then getting violently angry when they are not perfect is ridiculous.
No, I don't approve of what he did. But you know, that's not my business either. He should be allowed to play without heckling.
If you don't like watching Tiger play golf, there is a novel device on your television set. It is called the channel selector---change the channel. Actually there are two novel devices--the other one is called the power button. TURN THE TV OFF!!
He has asked forgiveness. Now is a perfect time to get back to business
at hand and let the people or fans squabble about his pass. They needed something to talk about anyway.
Be hard for him to do anything right without playing a game before the masters.
I say he miss the cut!
I'm almost embarrassed that I care, but I miss him on the Tour. Haven't watched any golf in months, so will probably tune into the Masters because of him. I will try to disregard his personal life and enjoy watching him play. His personal life is not my business, but he set himself up for this fall by acting holier-than-thou. He's suffered and now has to live w/ being human like the rest of us.
The PGA has missed him terribly. Just ask them. They have few viewers and fewer people at the tournaments. They need Tiger as much as he needs them. Sorry, but it's the truth. I haven't watched golf since he stopped playing. Who cares what the rest are doing? There are some young players who are fun to watch, but the older guys are boring.
Damn... a guy gets a little extra trim and all hell breaks loose! Statistics say that half of all married men cheat a some point in their marriage. And 35% of married women do. So why all the fuss... go El Tigre!
Great decision to come back at the most civil and respected venue in golf.
Golf is a game of character and conduct at its core. Tiger fails the test and is disqualified. Regarding scores, victories and/or championships he is 'outside the ropes.' Granted, forgiveness is available and should be available at all times.
Notwithstanding, consequences are what they are. People always 'reap what they sow,' and whether he has an entry in record books, a deposit in a bank account or a mark in history ... "it is what it is" - Sad!
It is sad for him, for his wife, for his kids, for the game of golf, and finally for those who continue to ignore the consequences. "Humpty Dumpty, sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the Kings horse and all the Kings men ... could never put Humpty together again!"
The notion that golf is a game of character is a load of crap. It's traditionally been a game of elitism and exclusion -that's not character. I'm an avid golfer -but it's just a game -not a test of one's self worth. Tiger Woods is the best golfer to ever play the game. He might not be the best person to play -he certainly is not the worst.
I agree with RDH.
He is there to golf, not to be a role model -- any more than the NBA players, NFL players or various actors and actresses out there playing around and doing stupid stuff.
If you feel "betrayed" by his behavior -- I wonder why you put such importance on someone you probably don't even know.
It doesn't matter how we think he will do. We'll know after the tournament's done.
Can't wait for the commentators to start falling all over themselves talking about Tiger. Like there is no one else on the course. Tiger teaing it up. Tiger taking a shot, Tiger scratching himself, etc, etc, etc. What a jerk. If he is in the lead the TV goes OFF. I love watching the Masters. But the Tiger show?, No way!
I hope he misses the cut. Serves him right from taking away from the real golfers that are there to win and not just make a media circus out of the whole thing.
It the others are there to win, then they need to do it a little more often. "Real golfers" shoot low scores.
Duh! WHAT "real" golfers??? Your "real golfers" have had months to win and NO ONE, not even big mouth Ernie Els (First win in TWO years Ernie, not to mention good 'ole Phil), has stepped up to the cup! The media circus you talk about is just that... the media. I have not kept up with your so-called circus because Tiger is Tiger because of golf. I have not watched one game since he stopped playing. Can't wait! Leave the man alone and let him play golf!
Leave his personal life alone at this point. The more it is scrutinized the harder for his wife to move on. He can play golf and that's where our focus should be. His bad decisions should not affect our lives this much. Let HER heal and stop all this craziness. Does every article, including the one written about his return next month, have to discuss all the dates of the infidelities and give us yet another re-cap of how it all broke down. Just move on with the golf stuff and get over what he did. He is paying for it everyday and will be for a long time but that is private now and everyone should respect Elin and her kids for that part. You don't have to respect Tiger for his personal life choices but let him and his family deal with that as they may. Talk about his golf... By the way I think he will make the cut but not really be in contention. I think he needs several tournaments of competition before he gets back into form. He will be able to concentrate plenty. He is stone on the golf course and has proven that what is going on off the course will not really effect his play on it. I hope he does well.
I believe people should leave him along about the affairs. That is between him and Elin. I am like his mother very disappointed in his behavior and hopes he straightens his life out. He is the best golfer ever and his playing will show it.
I hope he does well! His personal life no matter how appalling is none of my business. If those closest to him can forgive, why not us. I'm glad everyone out there is so perfect!
Beware: His eye is no longer roving. All his secrets are out and my guess is Elin will have a short leash on him. So without having to worry about all his indiscretions - he will be much more focused on his game - there won't be anything else to distract him.
Quite frankly, I believe a lot of his prior "bad behavior" on the course was related to the stress he was carrying because of his cheating. Now that that has been exposed - all he has to worry about now is improving his family life - which by the way he will do and focus more on his game. I wouldn't want to be playing against him now.
I agree completely. He will play ever better, now. I don't know how he kept up with all of the women. It would have to be a distraction!!!!

With a roving eye how will he be able to focus on the ball?
