Evan Lysacek was not gracious in his loss at Nationals to Jeremy Abbott. He sent his coach out to do the dirty work. The truly gracious figure skaters were Meryl Davis and Charlie White who took silver but were pleased that their training partners won the gold.

You're entitled to your opinion as much as the next person. To me the Alpine Skiing events are the best, followed next by Short Track racing. The races are fast, edge-of-you-seat excitement that are never over till its over, much like the Alpine events. I find Apolo to be very humble, likable, and a great role model. The story of he and his father, and how they came to be where they are is the stuff of movies. Good luck Apolo in whatever and wherever your life takes you.

Humble?? All I ever heard from Ohno is how many medals he won! Everytime they interviewed him, he reminded us. Terrific athlete for sure, but Mr. Humble he is not.

Calling out the Canadian ref on TV took some kahunas. Not sure it's the definition of class act, but... like everything else about the sport (which I enjoy), we can chalk that up to "it's short track"

The question was, who's your favorite US Olympian? Kim is great, but she is NOT from the US. And regarding the name, in Korea as in China, they do say the last name first, so Kim Yu-Na is correct, but I agree that in a western country, it's appropriate to say Yu-Na Kim (as Scott H. did more than once).

I think is it more appropriate to pronounce a foreigner's name the way it is pronounced in her own country: Kim Yu Na. If she were to immigrate to this country, then it would be correct for her to adapt and call herself Yu Na Kim. If I were visiting in another country, I would not want to be called Doe Jane.

Koreans ALWAYS say their last name first. Korean-Americans may chose to say given name first as we natives do. This is where travel and education help out. Too many Americans have never traveled outside of this country and take absolutely no interest in other lands and cultures. They will, however, make an ignorant comment on a blog, including voting for a Korean in answer to a question regarding "favorite US Winter Olympic athlete".

c1128we, Apolo & Lindsay overated???? Hardly. Ohno meddled in 2 of 4, (not to mention getting screwed in the 500M) for doing nothing different than the Canuc who was awarded Gold). For him to still be competitive in his 3rd Olympic competition is in itself a major accomplishment. In virtually every race he was competing against 2 other racers from the same country, essentially making it a "Team Race" which makes it next to impossible for someone else to win. In regard to Lindsay Vonn who was 2 of 5 in her events, you obviously don't know much about ski racing. To race in every event from Down Hill to Slalom would be the equivalent of a sprinter running 100M, 1000M, 5000M and the marathon. The skill sets you need are entirely different. Downhill is fast, up to 90MPH, G-Forces and compression forces that rival that of jet pilots. You need stamina to endure the turns, jumps, rollers, and ruts that can launch you at any moment. In slalom you need cat like reflexes, and the ability to get into and change rythem multiple times on a given run. Other than being run on skis, it has almost nothing in common with the Down Hill or Super G.

If anyone is over rated it would be Shaun White, a one trick pony if ever there was one. Where was he in the Boarder Slalom and Boarder Cross? I'll tell you, nowhere to be seen. I know thats not an entirely fair comparison but you get the point.

How is Sean a One Trick Pony? He is a stand-up athlete who scored high enough to win the Gold on his qualifying run. Then followed that up with a increase in score on his final run after he had already won the Gold. Anyone else would have walked down that half-pipe for no score, instead he raised his final score by landing tricks that no-one has ever tried in competition before. He shows the youth that you never need to stop pushing yourself. Anyways, he competes in two other events that haven't made it to the Olympics yet, and he is a professional skateboarder in the off-season. All of this and he is still able to be the best in the world 8 years running. I'm just saying...

I used to enjoy figure skating, now I just find it dull. Even Johnny couldn't save it.
