From the Pacific coast to the shores of the Black Sea. From the peaks of western Canada to the Caucasus mountains of southern Russia. From gleaming North American skyline to palm-fringed resort in the former Soviet Union.
After Vancouver, now it's Russia's turn in 2014

At least the viewer should have more options come the next Winter games. I would have like to have seen more of the games, including today's mens 50k cross country event. It would be great to have the choice of watching all of the luge events for instance, rather than the top qualifiers. Especially for people with a lame cable provider, there should be web based streaming of events to your TV. The new TV's and DVD drives are coming out with internet TV, so that should be in place come next Olympics.
They are closer to a real democracy than we are now. Their supreme court investigates state crimes, you can still smoke in most bars, their leaders do not claim extraordinary powers, everyone isn't told to fear the tewowists, Eliot Spritzer can still use an escort services without the garbage at the FBI committing the felony of some how using it against him. John McCain will never admit to any of this because the troops might be sad (and they should because our piece of @!$%# President lies to them about what they are told they are protecting).
Now stove pipe that intel garbage.
"Develop a good thick skin and don't shy away from criticism," Do you think the Russians can handle that ? ? ? LOL
The warm temperatures in Vancouver were a problem during the Olympics. It was even warmer in Sochi during the same 2 week period. That's worrying.
Just thinking about the charm of Russian hospitality exuding warmth, peace and good will. However, I wonder what will be the fate of their Olympic athletes who were expected to win a medal and didn't. Is Siberia still used as a prison?
