Olympic figure skating champion Evan Lysacek hit out at Russian Yevgeny Plushenko on Friday for discrediting his rivals and tainting the American's gold medal moment with a bitter rant.

You go Evan, Plushenko should hang his head in shame!!! You skated the gold medal and he cannot handle the loss, sore looser and has embarrassed his country and himself. Evan you were great and do not let some little little boy, not man, take that away from you!!!
Exactly...Mr. P took 3 1/2 years off the sport and 'assumed' he could just swoop in and take the gold while thinking a 'quad' would be his ticket...perhaps he should have added a couple more jumps to his set.
Each jump is given a value...and if both did flawless performances, then it is the 'numbers' game...EL did so many jumps of this value that added up to more than so many jumps done by YP.
It is as simple as that...
This is where being a 'sore loser' comes into play...sometimes it is best to 'keep your mouth shut'...
If they want a jumping contest that would be fine, but this was figure skating. Figure skating has rules and components that add up. If Plushenko wants a jumping contest they should petition the IOC to add that as a sport.
There were others who did do the quad and even one who landed it, and they didn't win either--so I guess it isnt a quad squad medal.
He acted like a big baby.
As I said in another post, the Russians are a bunch of whiney SOB's, whose favorite building material is duct tape!
The Russians are just pissed that they and the French are unable to manipulate the judging and the outcome of medal assignments as they have done in the past.
that does make his grousing a little hard to take after all the years and years of cheating by the Russians and the French-
