The Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints are celebrating Mardi Gras-style. Carnival floats carrying players, coaches and team owner Tom Benson started rolling through downtown New Orleans for a victory parade Tuesday.

Well, it's about time. Katrina was four and a half years ago. Biloxi, Gulfport and Long Beach in Mississippi rebounded within eighteen months. I am glad for the Saints that they won their first appearance at a Super Bowl in 43 years, but can't someone put that drive and that spirit behind rebuilding New Orleans?

The only Saints won the game is by a sissy side kick. Plus having a paid referee in their back pocket. The Saints is still the Aints. That is nothing to be proud of not playing like grown men should play. it reminds me of grade schools would do. I guess we need to treat Aints like grade schoolers.

Roger Thacker- Are you related to Yellow Hat? You both are so filled with hate- and dumb. The "sissy side kick" you refer to is actually called an onsides kick. By NFL football rules, you can use it any time you kick off. Teams use it to catch the other team off guard- that is what the Saints did. Its the same kick the Colts would have done had Manning not been intercepted by the Saints and gone on to make a touchdown. If you don't like it maybe you can petition the NFL to change the rules.
As an FYI- yes, this parade like parades all cities have for their championship teams, will cost some money. However, the floats the Saints are riding on are donated as is all of the food and music for the party tonight. And by the way, this parade, much like Mardi Gras parades, is generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax revenue and income for stores along the route. Sorry you're such a bitter, dried up person. Theres a lot of love out there if you are willing to embrace it. In the meantime, the city has gotten along without your help and will continue to do so- we'll pray for you.

All they do in New Orleans is party, so what's new? Too stupid to speak decent English, cops too crooked to stay on the job during a hurricane, people too stupid to evacuate, still whining almost 5 years after the hurricane hit - yeah, that sounds like a city of champions.

Your comments are insulting to the police who stayed and worked their butts off, as well as the over 1 million people who evacuated the city and were unable to return for 10 days. Roger, I hate to remind you but EVERY team that wins a Super Bowl has a parade. It's just that when it comes to throwing parades, New Orleans has LOTS and LOTS of experience and pulls them off in a style that no other city can match. And those money draining parades you're talking about generate MANY MILLIONS of dollars in revenue for the city and it's businesses each year. The livelihood of thousands of New Orleans residents depends on tourism and events like Mardi Gras, Super Bowls, Sugar Bowls, Jazz Fest, etc ... DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
