Woods: Minnesota has one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to put on a helmet in Brett Favre and the best running back in the world in Adrian Peterson. But Batman and Robin are just as apt to go Jekyll and Hyde and transform into Captain Interception and Major Fumbler.
In crunch, can Vikings trust Favre, Peterson?

Woods,
Are you kidding me? You 2nd rate Packer apologist. You write for the Appleton Post-Crescent. I don't know whether that's a "newspaper" or some sort of Pillsbury Bakeoff Dessert! So, Favre has been "horrible" in his last 12 years worth of playoffs. Those Packer teams didn't deserve to be in the playoffs in the first place for the most part and only rode there on Favre's back. The loss to the Giants particularly pisses me off. The whole "Favre" lost the game thing. How about another Packer makes a play that game if you don't want everything riding on Favre - oh, cause he was their playmaker - you gotta dance with the one that brung ya. Which, in your case, is probably your sister. How does Rodgers do in your little playoff assessment, huh! O-1 with a fumble WAY worse than Favre's interception against the Giants - and that was in the first round!
Good job buddy.
Yet another national article riding Dallas' jock and showing no respect for a 12-4 squad. I can't wait till the Vikings dominate the Cowgirls so all these idiots can eat their words.
Sorry Dallas fans you don't have the cushy comforts of your suburban white picket fence stadium. You're coming to the HOOD, and you're going down, guaranteed.
WHAT UP NOW MIKE WOODS?!?!?!?!? Go back to Appleton LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmmm- ChiTown. How's that pronounced? Is it a comment on the Bears as a whole, or just Jay Cutler?
Nice try, but no cigar - the Bears blow. I wasn't disrespecting Packer fans anyways - just Woodsie. Oh, and as for Favre "giving away" that Eagles playoff game, a real Packer fan would remember that the Eagles were #1 seed, Packers were #4 and the DEFENSE gave up a completely inexcusable 4th and 26 play to let the game get into overtime - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4th_and_26. It has it's own Wikipedia entry for cripes sake!! So, if the defense did it's job, Favre wouldn't have even been on the field. Or, how about the huge last second TD the Pack defense gave up to TO to LOSE the home playoff game against the 49er's in '98 or '99? I'm just sayin' that to say that these playoff losses are all Favre's fault is lame and sounds even more so coming from a dude in Appleton.
"4,000-plus yards this season, his 107 rating, his 33-7 TD to interception ratio; none of that matters."
None of that matters??? He wasn't supposed to make through the season! He was supposed to throw 5 interceptions a game! But he is in the talks for MVP, and none of that matters?!! I guess when you are a writer, you can write the worst, and if it were to come true, you get some credibility, but when it doesn't come true, nobody reminds you of it after the fact. Well, when it doesn't happen, when Peterson doesn't fumble and Farve doesn't "C" word, I will remind you this time!!
Up yours Woods, you're a hack of a writer.
Wow. Talk about sour grapes. The primary difference this time around will be the lack of yellow and green surrounding Favre. I'm guessing his first pass won't be intercepted.
If you dont put eight in the box, Peterson runs wild - if you do put eight in the box, Favre cuts the defence to shreds.
Farve has finally gotted a good team in front of him, and that appears to have made all the difference this year.
Like the Cowboys are the big playoff team all of a sudden.....one win against a one sided Eagles team in the last 12 years doesn't make them a playoff powerhouse at all. Farve has had the lowest INTs this year of ANY QB! Yet just because its playoff time he is gonna fail? Yup, AP does fumble too much....he also gains tons of yards after contact.....double edged sword. The GREAT part of AP is he scares the hell out of defences and forces them to play 8 in the box....perfect for Farve to play action. Also helps the man can pick appart blitz packages. Farve himself said "This is the best team he has played on"......9 pro bowlers just supports that statement
What a stupid article. This is what passes as journalism these days at NBC sports?
They HAVE to trust their hall of fame quarterback and their running back, that's what they got to work with. What other option is there? Forfeit the game? Fact is they wouldn't even be in the playoffs if it wasn't for Farve.
NBC should ask for the money back that they paid for this worthless article.
Oh Woods, clearly you just don't know what to do with yourself since your beloved Packers couldn't get it done last week. Next year if the Packers make the playoffs, you better stay consistent and right a few paragraphs on how the Packers won't get it done because Rogers loves to cough up the "pumpkin" in very crucial situations.
The sports writer of this article sucks!
Actually, this writer is correct. Unfortunately, as a Cowboy fan, I just wish he hadn't said it. Could it be that he really believes it, or that he is trying to motivate the Vikings? In either case, Favre has been humiliated by the Cowboys in recent seasons and has a lot to prove. Petersen has something to prove to local Cowboy fans as well. And the Viking fans would love to get revenge for the Cowboys trade of Herschel Walker.
So, although the Cowboys are the better of the two teams, articles like this, abstract factors, can significantly effect the outcome. However, barring a disastrous injury, the Cowboys will win.
Are you serious? I think you've been listening to too many sports commentators. Something tells me Favre never felt "humiliated". Besides, the Cowboys beat the Packers, not Favre. I seem to remember this being a "team" game.
And, Vikings fans would "love to get revenge for the Walker trade"?? David, that was centuries ago...who even thinks about that anymore? And do you seriously think that an article like this could "significantly effect (sic) the outcome"? Do you think the Vikings or Cowboys players would pay any attention to the hack that wrote this? That's just not reality, man.
Anyway, I think that overall the Vikings are a better team, but I can't imagine McKinnie stopping Ware, and I think that spells trouble for Favre and the Vikings. However, if the Vikes get a good pass rush on Romo we can count on him to make a few bonehead throws. I really think the pass rush (on both sides) will be the determining factor.
What up now loser... wasn't even close. Which is what we all knew the whole time... except for Vikings fans....
The writer is no better than the far right or left in politcs. He damns and condems the key players as if HE was a player and in the middle of the pressures. Not correct & damaging without cause, except maybe a deep grudge.
There must be many aspiring sports writers who would love to have a job. Mr. Publisher//Editor, you should consider replacing this man. He appears to be a loose cannon with a nasty bent.
And... they should trust Tarvaris Jackson and Chester Taylor instead?
We TV big shots are a bit nervous over this game. We know the Vikes are unbeatable at
home, but we have to push the Cowboys as the best team because we want that big
rating Superbowl with the Colts. Jerry has to pay for his palace so we pump a team that
is good, but still not in the class of the Vikes and Saints. We may need the help of the
refs to keep it close.
I just wanna thank national sports (http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/34843714/ns/sports-nfl/) for letting an idiot like Mike Woods (TRY TO)write an article demeaning Minnesota. The Appleton Post Gazette? Give me a break! Whatta bunch of TRUE BLUE LOSERS! Is there anyone from the Ortonville MN paper who can submit a response? C'MON NBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're from Appleton WI huh? This article is soaked in sour grapes that the QB you adored for so long is now a successful Viking. Maybe you can pull up a chair next to Rogers to watch the game on Sunday. Word has it he has nothing to do.
HOLDS rec. for INT. PASS ES
This writer works in CheeseHeadLand, enough said on the Viking bashing.
It's an idiotic question, quite frankly ("In crunch, can Vikings trust Favre, Pereson?") It's like they have any choice. :-)
Hey Mike Wood. Your cheese is moldy... Kinda stinks doesn't it? SKOL Vikings!!
Go figure. Another anti-Vikings article written by a disgruntled cheesehead. GET OVER IT!!! The Vikings beat you twice this year, have a bye and your sorrow-a.. Packers have been eliminated. I'm looking forward to more of these stories as the Vikings continue to advance to their first Super Bowl title. SKOL VIKINGS!!!
Hmm... Score before the game 0 - 0.
Whatever. What a load of crap.
Fumbles over the season for AP? Six in 16 games. Once every two and a half games. Not great, but it's not like it's every other friggin' play. The smack about he puts it on the carpet as often as he breaks one? Look at the numbers, jackass.
So, Favre is having a good year, but just throw that away, right? What! He's never had so few interceptions. He's never had a December like this. Means nothing, right? How stupid are you?
What a pathetic attempt at journalism.
Again... whatever.
