I think Peterson will run wild but the game changer will be the Dallas D that will pummel Favre and disrupt their passing game. Dallas in a a close one
The Cowboys are losers and Romo is an overpaid choker. The Vikings will crush them.
Joeleethree you need to stop smoking that junk! I know you probably love your Vikings, but seriously, read what your writing! By saying what you just wrote it is painfully obvious that you didnt even watch any games or read up on any stats for this season. Did you know that the Vikings lost a couple of games to teams towards the end of the season that they should have easily won? Even better, the game against the Giants even though it was a blow out, showed nothing about how ready the Vikings are for the playoffs, since the Giants had actually nothing to play for and it clearly showed on the field. The Vikings also have had a week off to prepare, but not play, which is also important to point out since timing and momentum is key point to wining in this league. Now I am not saying that they are incapable, but they are all some factors that you you should consider. Match ups are also a factor that needs to be considered. The o line of the Vikings is starting to show some wear and tear. espesially around the tackles of the o line. Demarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer are a couple of the best linebackers in the league, which are currently still playing. Then if you double those two you will leave it open for Jay Ratliff and Marcus Spears to have a field day on Brett Favre. Your d line is good too with Allen and the Williams brothers(I know thier actually not related), however the Dallas o line has not recently shown the same protection issues. MARK MY WORDS! This game will be won or lost in the trenches. I know you have some great recievers. Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin(watched this kid grow up! I am so proud of him!) You also have a great running back in Peterson. The Dallas defense has been good against the run and Peterson has not had that many 100 yard games this season. Dallas is fast in the secondary too with Jenkins looking very good and Gerald Sensabaugh, Ken Hamlin and Terrence Newman holding thier own as well. Brett can not thow down field if he is on his back or running for his life. Romo has been playing the best football of his career the season with only nine Int's and twenty six touchdowns, alot better that previous seasons in that ratio. If The Vikings can protect Brett you can win this game. I just dont think that will be in the cards for them this time. It will be a good games reguradless. P.S. I haven't overlooked the fact that the Vikings have never lost at home this season. That season is over. This is the Post season all bets are off! Good luck! :-) Griff25
Spencer and DeMarcus Ware will smoke Favre. Dallas D will hold Peterson to a mild roar. Romo will throw for 2-3 touchdowns and some 300 yards like he has for most of the season and the Cowboys will win in a thriller.
When the Vikes have the ball, Dallas has a superior run defense that should negate Peterson. The Vikings will focus on a passing game plan, thus the Cowboys will focus on a strong blitzing/pass rushing plan. I see Dallas with the edge here. When the Cowboys have the ball I love their play calling to thwart the blitzing (as per Philly twice) and I don't see the Viking LBs and DBs putting a stop to either rushing or passing from Dallas. Dallas gets the edge here as well. Big Plays from Rice, Peterson, Felix or Austin could make everything a mute point. My money is on Dallas by 10. They are hot and rolling.
The Vikes defensive line can get pressure but Dallas is used to protecting against the blitz and I don't see the Vikes coming up with anything too exotic to confuse Dallas. Dallas, however, has shown the ability to rattle even the really good qb's. Rivers being the exception. Should be a good game but I think the Cowboys defense will do a better job against the Viking offense than the Vikes' defense against the 'Boys offense. 27-17 Dallas.
Cowboys will win 31-24.. Peterson will have some breakout runs but he will also fumble the ball 3 times and the cowboys will recover it twice.. Our defense will be hot on Favre's ass the whole game and he won't be able to function, he will be on his back for the duration of the game..
Wow, no respect for this Vikings team at all. So no acknowledging that the Vikings beat NYG 44-7, the same team that beat Dallas twice this season? The Vikings are better than the Cowboys in both rush yards against/game and pass yards against/game this game. In common games as I mentioned before the Vikings are 4-1 vs the Cowboys 2-3.
The Cowboys three games against the Eagles proved 1 thing. They match up very well with the Eagles. The Eagles have a offensive line that basically was assembled from different parts in the offseason, rely heavily on a blitzing defense, a non existent running game, had more big plays than most anyone in the league, and lost there most dynamic player in Brian Westbrook. So when you run the ball like Dallas did and limit the big plays downfield, they become very beatable.
Minnesota however is a nightmare. Their defense was able to put up 48 sacks using mostly their 4 main lineman (31 sacks). That allows for 7 other defensive players to do their job. Whether its shutting down the run or the pass, the Vikings are much more better built to deal with the weapons of the Cowboys.
The Cowboys however are relying heavily on what is considered blitzing packages from Ware and Spencer. The Cowboys front only have 1/4 of their sacks. The Cowboys will need to get to Brett Favre in under 3 seconds to have any chance of disrupting that offense.
Why does everyone think this is such a lopsided game for the Cowboys?
Because the momentum is with the Cowboys.
I will avoid hater type of comments against Minnesota, mainly because I believe they are better than that.
I do throw my hat into the Cowboys ring on this one though, based on most recent results.
Got to go with the Boys in this one...I know everyone is in love with Favre..but in my opinion, he comes up small against really top notch Defenses and also in playoff games....and I think Dallas has a really good D...he's pretty adept at not getting sacked but what he will do is just throw the ball up for anybody to get when rushed..and I think he'll be rushed...I'll never forget against Philadelphia about 5 years ago in the playoff game they lost for the NFC championship he had a 3rd and goal play at the 4 yard line and rather than diving into the endzone to get the clinching TD, he made a bunch of ball fakes and ran out of bounds and then watching him laugh as if it was funny (certainly no John Elway with the helicopter move to get a key TD)...and the game was lost in OT as a result..so even though he's racked up lots of numbers and wins..to me, I don't want him in a key game like this....think he's a "me" guy deep down...only thing about this game that scares me is how many good games can Romo have in a row...he can be equally bad as Favre...but I say Boys defense is superior and they win this one 24-21
This is going to be a GREAT GAME. My 2 fav. teams.. but hope VIKINGS win & mak eit all the way to superbowl. they deserve it. plus, it'll be the first time they win a superbowl :) YAY VIKINGS!!! -Lizzy
Vikings have come a lo0ng way.. have not won a superbowl, and the last time they ever got close was around the 1970's. They deserve to win the superbowl. i believe they do have a chance to beat the cowboys, but it's going to be a tough game since our defense isnt too great. all depends on favre, if he can make good passes, we will win no doubt. =] vikings baby! wo0oo
