This guy is too much, hasn\'t his Lawyer told him to shut up already. You made all kinds of comments talking down to men half his age & now he wants everyone to feel like he was mistreated. Go away you Fat obnoxious boar. Two sides to every story, funny how he hasn\'t been able to get people on his side. That interview he did was pathetic, it looked like he was tryibng to tell his side from inside a small room, kind of wierd setup. Guy is a loser.
Get em' Leach! I think you did the right thing - dealing with an entitled punk kid who is disrupting practice. The kid took the video because he was playing the victim all to well. ESPN also did a fine job of helping to slander your name with James at the helm holding his microphone. I can only imagine the nightmare of trying to coach this clearly self entitled premadonna who will always fall back on his big mouth dad who never take responsibility for his or his kids actions. I hope you WIN BIG!
Coach Leach has a lot of people who are supporting him. On Jan 14, a protest is planned at Texas Tech in support of their coach. Tech admin did slander Leach and used a whiney player and his hovering dad as an excuse to get out of paying Leach what they had promised by contract. It has now been brought out that Adam James greatly exaggerated his "punishment". I believe Coach Leach should also sue Craig James and ESPN for slander. By the way, Craig James is now going into politics. He should fit right in there. His involvement in the pay-for-play scandal at SMU and now his part in costing a person their job should qualify him for any political polition. The way ESPN and Craig James used that network to promote their one-sided version is beyond belief. Probably caused many viewers to doubt their credibility. By the way, I am not a fan of Texas Tech, Coach Leach, or ESPN/Leach. It does not sit well with me to see this type of hatchet job done on anyone. Additionally, this "kid" is almost 22 years old.
If your boss tells you to do something, and you refuse to do it, that is grounds for being fired! I don't care if you flip burgers for minimum wage or coach Texas Tech for a six-figure salary. As long as what you are directed to do is not illegal, your dismissal is warranted!
Get over it Leach - you screwed up and are not above the system!
Remember - If you ain't the lead dog, the view never changes.
If your boss tells you to do something, and you refuse to do it, that is grounds for being fired!
Not if your boss's demands serve as an amendment to a pre-existing contract. Leach had such a contract which was the sum total of arrangements between him and Texas Tech. There was and is no provisions in that contract for his "suspension." He could have been fired but not suspended. It was the suspension that Leach challenged in court and for which he was ultimately fired. Under any state or federal jurisdiction, that is retaliation and THAT is illegal, especially since the matter had not been adjudicated by a competent court of record. Leach is not virginally pure in this matter, but he doesn't have to be to prevail. Lead dog or not, Leach has just as many rights in the courthouse as does Texas Tech. In black letter law, it was pursuit of those rights that officially got him fired and that will rise to be a problem for the school as this goes forward.
He was fired for “poor judgment” in dealing with the receiver’s injury and his “unwillingness” to work with the school, according to their statement.
Nice try, but a ten year head coach is not fired for one incident of "poor judgment" in dealing with a single player. Unwillingness to work with the school may be a comfort for school administrators but what were the conditions/requirements he was "unwilling" to accept? E-mails between school officials and well-placed boosters show a pattern of conspiracy long before the James incident. Leach may have used "poor judgment" in handling Adam James but the manner in which he was suspended and then fired in retaliation is the poorest of judgment yet on display. Politics is weighted in favor of the state supported school, Texas Tech. But law is heavily weighted in favor of Leach whose contract is overly specific on areas the school hopes to merely dismiss with the application of "cause" in his dismissal. I'd cash Mike Leach's check ~ I think he will have a sizable bank account when this mater is finally resolved.
I have the feeling that this situation is 50/50 in blame. Yes, Leach probably used profanity and punishment on Adam. However, how many times had Coach and the team been forced to put up with Adam's sauntering into practice with sunshades on and his cap backwards, showing absolute disrespect for the coaches and the team?? How long had they been subject to his premadonna attitude knowing nothing could be done to change him or the attitude because his dad would use what fame he has to make trouble for the coaches?
From watching the video taken by Adam, I could clearly see he was in an open closet in a lit room which contained a desk, what looked like file cabinets, and what appeared to be chairs. SO why did he stand in the closet?--to make trouble, plain and simple, to give his overbearing dad something to complain about and to give the University an out on Leach's contract and bonus.
I feel certain Coach Leach will have an excellent NFL career and will get a "settlement" from Tech.
However I wonder if whatever playing time and conditions I suspect the University has promised Adam and his dad to facilitate Leach's firing, is going to be worth it when no Pro team will even look at him.
I doubt that Leach's profanity was reserved for Adam James. I'd imagine that the school's administrators were given a dose of it when they tried to impose a list of requirements on Leach. That didn't help his cause. There is something so concluding in telling your boss to "f**k off." That said, Leach still has standing according to the terms of his contract which was willingly accepted by all parties. The school will have problems with explicit e-mails that reflect a conspiracy to terminate his tenure with four years remaining on his contract. Leach should have sent James to the trainers room, not a shed ~ but that doesn't weaken his position in the realm of black letter law. I can see more than Leach losing a job before this dust-up is settled. It just depends on how much this actually costs the school as to how deep the knife will cut.
Football in TX must be different than in Ohio. I have been around many coaches of many sports at many levels and all but a few of the women's coaches did not curse. I don't see Leach losing a job for profanity. Punishment of a player who feels entitled due to his name or ability is commonplace. I am surprised that the players didn't give Adam a little extra at the bottom of the pile at practice to show him they weren't happy with his attitude.
adam sounds like a cry baby. when i was his age i had been 2 years in the army and been chewed out by ww2 combat vets and i am sure those coaches could taken the hide off littllr jamesy wamesy

No doubt he is another one of these who probably preaches to everyone else to take responsiblity for your own actions, but refuses to do so himself
