Andre Dawson was the only player elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Wednesday, leaving several hopefuls disappointed.

Roberto Alomar

Roberto Alomar is really the only player in this list that deserves to be in the hall of fame. The others are good players but NOT HOF.

Roberto Alomar

I will vote for Alomar. I saw him play at Fenway. Great glove. As long as Bonds holds the home run record, McGwire deserves a spot also.

since roids were not illegal in baseball until a couple of years ago, u need to let mcgwire in. The writers are just mad because he made them look stupid when thye kissed up to him during his homerun record run and who didnt think him or Bonds were on it when they were playing.

Sorry, but this is plain incorrect.

Testing for steroids has been around since 2003. That is much more than "a couple of years ago"

Since 1988, it was against the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988.
"to distribute or possess anabolic steroids with the intent to distribute for any use in humans other than the treatment of disease based on the order of a physician." Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988, Pub. L. No. 100-690, Section 4181.

In 1990 Congress made a specific law regarding Anabolic steroids. Titled Anabolic Steroids Control Act

As Steroids were against civil law, it is disingenous to claim that they are not illegal in baseball.

Interesting enough, players who later denied using steroids appeared on a talk show about steroids.
The players were Randy Smith, Tony Gwynn and Jason Giambi.

Giambi praises Mark McGwire for his influence.

I feel that Bert deserves to be in the hall. Andre Dawson deserves it as well. I remember going to Cubs games and seeing him play. They both deserve to be in the Hall
