If we're talking programs, I'd vote for USC, but if we're talking "teams" there is only one......and it is the 2005 Texas Longhorns. Only the USC Trojans would be close.

USC made a name for itself for 10 years - every year.  Only 2009 showed a new team without enough playing experience.  But the team of USC was number 1 for 10 years.  A great coach who trained his football players to work hard, play hard and have the utmost integrity.  It continues.  Fight on USC!

ALL IN THE LAST DECADE ---Who had ever heard of BSU until the last decade ? { Boise State University , located in Boise , Idaho } Now everyone knows who the Boise State Broncos are , it is not because of the blue turf . Why = because they win football games , even if the sports broadcasters say they can't . There are many reasons , a popular reason is that they use plays their opponents are not expecting, sometimes referred to as trick plays by their opponents and fans of the ''big time'' football powers that lose to BSU . The real reason is they are a good football team that can compete if not beat any team from any conference . Team of the 2000s? Well, duh ..... Appalachian State, of course.

Florida was mediocre first part of decade.

Texas had a couple of big years-------------fortunate to beat USC one year.

USC was best of decade.

LSU, Texas, and USC were the most consistent teams of the decade. LSU with two BCS titles should get the nod. USC with the split championship was all political in 2003. They had a great team; but was outside looking in that year. LSU also went through a HUGE coaching change during the decade. USC will soon feel the pains of moving on with a new coach. Boise is a fun and now serious program to respect. I would like to see them play a SEC or a Big 12 schedule one year.

In 2009, if not ro Oklahoma losing the best QB in the nation, Sam Bradford, and best tight end in the nation, Jermaine Gresham, and multiple offensive lineman, all to injuries, it would have been in the title game this year. What other team had to go through four centers in 8 weeks? Very sad. Further, in the decade it played two national championship games that it was in position to win in the 4th quarter, on the opponents de facto home fields, LSU in New Orleans while QB Jason White had injured legs and throwing hand, and Florida in Miami without star running back DeMarco Murray who was knocked out in it conference championship game. Play the LSU and UF games in Tulsa, 120 miles from Norman, OK, and what would LSU and UF fans have claimed following a loss to the Sooners? "Unfair home advantage", which was true in New Orelans and Miami. LSU's championships should definitely have asterisks beside them and Florida should have an asterisk beside the last one played on a home field. USC also thinks it was the best team after the 2002 season but Washington State, not USC, took the Pac-10's top slot.

The BEST TEAM has to come from the SEC. By far strongest conference on planet.

Boise State. In the last four years are 49-4 with two undefeated seasons and two Fiesta Bowl victories and against the Mountain West are 13-1, the only loss to TCU who they are 2-1 against. Next year may be their NC year and their Heisman year. All American QB Kellen Moore, who will be a junior, is the # 1 pre season pick by many experts.

Boise who? They have yet to prove anything......What a joke.....

It's a no brainer, Boise State. all they do is win games, game after game, game in, game out. Is their such a thing as coaches on steroids? maybe thats what they do. because they don't have the big budget or the big school or the big time recruits. That's it!. Their coaches use steroids! Now this is going to be big time news.
