No, I think Tiger should step away from golf for a little while. Not because he needs to fix his family or anything...I just think that - at least for the near future - he needs to make sure his wife can't get her hands on any of his golf clubs :)
Why the double standard? There was no call to have Kobe Bryant step down and resign from basketball for the good of the game. All he did was buy a big diamond ring to get back in his wife's good graces. The press forgot about him in a second! Why does Tiger have to resign?
Are you kidding me? Why the double standard? Since when is having integrity and staying faithful a double standard. For some reason, God only knows why, these testosterone laden adolescent boys are paid enormous amounts of money to play a game. For the privilege of living into adulthood still playing games like they were children and earning lots of money to do it, they inherit a title called - role model. Now personally, I would prefer my kids have role models that accomplish something, but, it is what it is.
So, if they want to play a game called, do nothing of value, make millions, then they have to act like role models, or else face the consequences of their adolescent behavior. Tiger's staying away from the course because his image needs a bit of mending and his PR machine is in full force advising him to keep a low profile.
And another thing: Why is any of this news? What a waste of time and resources.
I am tired of these tv shows giving platforms 2 prostitues 2 get huge pay days by blackmail with medias help 2 tell the world about sex 4 money on tv regarldess of the effects familys-payee/my daughter, 13. if no one aired it, shared it. would it be paid or excepted? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? ITS WRONG & IT MAKES ME SICK TO BE AN AMERICAN. I WANT 2 HERE ABOUT MY DAUGHTER IN IRAQ A SOILDER, A MEDIC. WHAT TV TELLS SELLS, ITS ILLEGAL. THEY DO AS THEY PLEASE. BECAUSE THE MEDIA ALLOWS IT & AIRS IT. RUINING PEOPLES LIVES ALLOWING PROSTITUTION $ BLACKMAIL 4 THE RICH. We have a women, 47/48 with a beutifull voice & story. I want 2 know more about her. thats entertainment. she gets 90 seconds. the prostitues get 90 minutes and its not news, the bigger the platform (media) the bigger the paycheck. using tv makes it legal? is this the message now given 2 our children? here they go 2 jail. i am blown away by the acceptance of this behavior. its wrong & ILLEGAL yet they get paid very nicely. 1 a million $. would it have happened without the medias help? without the media platform it would not be happening, its also blackmail & thats illegal. the rich can do no wrong here in the usa. They can kill, hire expensive prostitues & then call it entertainment. can the money be a tax write off as well? 4 publicity? good job media. just what i want my child 2 grow up & be. I thought college was 4 good jobs, not pimps/black mailers.
It's news because the papers are all now only the National Enquirer printed daily now. They don't have originally thoughts -- only what can bring people down. But my statement of a double standard still goes -- there was no call for Kobe Bryant to quit basketball after the rape allegation. He said it was consensual and the courts said it was. So in the end Kobe still had an affair. But he didn't step down from basketball.
Only now the press wants Tiger Woods to step down and why is that? Why him? That doesn't make any sense. Why is okay for one to continue and not the other?
That question remains unanswered.
I think this is between him and his wife....I don't think we need to judge him...I think he needs to put everything on the table and decide what's important to him family......Having unprotected sex with women that he don't know....He's lucky he did not catch something and spread it to his wife and baby...
Look, Tiger is totally important to golf. But family comes first. PERIOD! Everybody makes mistakes, some more than others. I think it is so unrealistic how we hold these athletes to some sort of higher standard.

From what I've read about golfers back "in the day", they all had their "women" on the course from time to time. Apparently, one woman was shared by Nicklaus and Gary Player..... The press didn't pry into private things in those days. Nowdays, everything is on the internet in a matter of seconds. I saw the interview tonight on Dateline, with a couple of the "girls". Unbelievable trailer trash, if you ask me.
I'm surely not defending Tiger, because who could possibly defend him? BUT, he isn't the first and certainly won't be the last.
I think it would be easier to understand if there weren't so many women. From what I've read, most of these women were "ho's", (Paid well) so to speak.
This is a good first step for Tiger. A necessary step to show his family and fans he's sorry. Whether he actually is or whether this is a necessary publicity stunt we'll never know - the guy obviously has had major issues - hopefully he can get over them.

I agree; it won't survive. I hated golf b4 Tiger Woods. I thought it was boring and just couldn't understand why someone would just walk around hitting a stupid ball around grass!!! Now, I know golf terminology and how important an 'eagle' is and how dreadful hitting 'bogeys' are; etc. I actually do not watch a golf game if Tiger is not playing. I think ONLY Tiger knows what is best for his current situation. I truly hope they get through this as a family and that he can get back to golfing as soon as possible.

Nothing most of the male population hasn't done. And most married men would do it too. They don't because of the fear of being caught.
Family is what life is all about. If he never picks up a golf club again but rebuilds his family's trust and love then it will be the best decision he ever made. I don't think he will run out of money in his lifetime so why not?

He needs to step away for a while, work on the family life and let everyone move on to the next fallin celebrity or politician that comes out with a sex scandal. We have a very short memory in this country regarding celebrities ie. Brittany Spears, Michael Vick etc. He will be back and we will all be fans again regardless of what is actually proven.

Some years ago Tiger was playing a tournament at a place that would not permit women, and the LPGA asked him to withdraw in a show of support for the women athletes. He refused, even though there was a time when that very club would have not permitted HIM to play there. Playing that one tourney was more important than making a statement against discrimination. Now HE is the one who won't be playing golf for awhile due, yet again, to his inability to do the right thing when faced with a choice: infidelity or honor. My my my.

From my perusing the message boards it seems that one group want to throw him under the bus, for his wife to take all he has worked for/ earned and for him to be dumped from Golf, his endorsements etc, while on the other side the brotha is on his own as he did not view/recognize himself as being a brotha in the first place so they have nothing to say about the whole issue. LOL
But seriously though, Tiger spent all his life playing golf, and from the look of things his really really really sheltered early years-- you know those years when young men date/run around trying to play hammer to all nails out there i.e. playing the field so to speak -- he was busy perfecting his golf skills. LOL
It would seem that some of these women who have come forward recently are some that he 'dated' before he got married. It would appear that these women were just the ones/types he was exposed to at the places he went to/frequented while on tour, which may explain the uniformity of looks etc as they all seem to resemble, sound and are needy, opportunistic alike and were not wife/ mother of his children type material. LOL
It would also appear that he was not frequently exposed to other type of ladies who are not into a man for his money and may be well educated and have a career and monies of their own without having to hope for 'gifts' and lodging from their male friends/companions types. LOL For eg. Tiger was introduced to the woman who become his wife by a fellow golfer. She was this other golfer's children's nanny. Hmmmmm
Oddly enough the media keep referring to these women as mistresses and from the look of things Tiger did not finance or give anything to any of these women. If there is a new definition of mistress other than a mistress as a 'kept' woman, ie a woman who is financially taken care of etc and is mutually exclusive to the man who is paying the bills, paying for the accommodations, giving the mega gifts etc, (like a wife but will never get the name or the wedding ring LOL) then that is new to me.
He probably really need to take some time off to reassess his life, career, associations etc and probably figure out what or who he is and learn to do what he wants to do etc, rather than just what is required of him by others.
Oh well, if elected polititians and religeous people/ministers, priests etc who are older than Tiger and more experienced and wordly than him can err and still survive the erring, then so will he imo. After all he did not murder anyone.
Perhaps folks are just annoyed and angry with him for the calibre of women he associated with'/dated, and not so much the number of women ( who are now trying to make some money and fame off their questionable association). After all most men and many women cannot have forgotten their own early year or youth when they were equally busy being stupid. LOL

Tiger doesn't owe me or the public an apology. I am a true fan and only watch golf when he plays. I truly admire the man for his skills. Anything else is none of my business. The same TV stations that aired what they called juicy gossip if they aired the golf tournament will lose lots of money for their transgressions against Tiger. The ladies of the night are making money for acting like hookers. What a pity. People you need to get a life and move on. We are all human. Not God to sit in judgement of Tiger, only he can deal with his conscience to his immediate family. Not you, not me. What is this the Spanish inquisition? Good for Tiger....his fans will be praying for his family and waiting for his return. Family first.....hes learning a hard lesson....but hopefully he will be a better person in the end for it.

The greatest golfer that ever lived is Bobby Jones. Bobby won all four majors in a single year. No one has done it before or since, not even Tiger. But if Tiger comes back that that first year and wins all four majors, the public will accept him again as a champion. He needs to stay away from golf and the public for at least one year.
