Alabama played a super game against Florida. Its hard to play like that two games in a row, so they probably played their best game of the season against Florida. Texas, on the other hand, had a bad night against Nebraska. Chances are a good team like Texas won't play that bad in back to back games. Using that logic I hope Alabama won't play as well as they did against Florida, and Texas will play way better than they did against Nebraska and win the title.
Bama's games have gotten better and better with each game for the most part. Your logic is far from logical!

rammajamma, I was at the UT/A&M game, and the offense had a spectacular night. Colt rushed for 175 yards and threw for another 300. I'd call that a pretty special night offensively. Our defense was lagging, but our offense carried us. Betsy had every right to say we played a good game against A&M. And as for the Texas defense, how many yards did we give up to Nebraska?
Texas will show up in Pasadena, this will be our third time to play there this decade. When is the last time Alabama played in the Rose Bowl?

Texas has already palyed 2 of their worst games back to back. Have you forgotten about A&M scoring 39? I can't remember the last time anyone scored close to 39 on Alabama. If they don't have a defense the shows up, it's gonna be uglier than sqeaking by Nebraska.

I think Texas will win, they had a bad night against Nebraska, but I think McCoy is a winner and he will use these 33 days to bounce back, it will be however a very close game, but I think that Texas is better than Alabama, it would be a great BCS bowl though

Texas Longhorns and fans will respect Alabama on 1/7 - after all four quarters are in the history books. Alabama's total game plan is so effective on all levels - it is truly amazing.
For all true college football fans, I hope both teams bring thier "A" game. And put to rest for this year a National Champion. Prefer a four team playoff system were in effect. Till then "ROLL TIDE ROLL".
After watching Texas last night, I don't believe that they're the 2nd best undefeated team in the country. Would rather see TCU, Boise, or Cincy try their luck against Alabama.
I believe either Boise State or TCU would beat Texas or Florida and maybe Alabama. Better quarterback.

Saban will have Alabama just as prepared for Texas as he did for Florida. It doesn't matter who Alabama will play for the national championship of the remaining undefeated teams- they will win. Slama Bama!
At this point, Texas is obviously the underdog, as they were in 2005 against USC. Also remember the true battle of 2005, which was Vince Young vs Reggie Bush. This year, Colt McCoy will indirectly have to battle Mark Ingram - both amazing players. It's very familiar territory for Mack Brown, and he has over a month to kick his team into the highest gear it can be. It's funny - from experience, Mack Brown can figure out how to take down a good running back, and Nick Saban can obviously destroy a good quarterback. Should be interesting to watch.
also remember that USC had two Heissman trophy winners and TX ws able to beat them in their own turf, the Rose Bowl. I think TX will do the same thing again, they will come as the underdog but I beleive TX will come on top, it is not going to be an easy game, that is for sure, but it should be the most interesting game to watch without any doubt.... Boise, Cinci or TCU in the championhsip? BORING..............

You guys have to remember that the Auburn game was a RIVAL game. Teams like Auburn always play at their top game when it is a rival game. They also were on Auburns homw turf, the fans were pumpin that team up.

Texas looked very average against Nebraska. Alabama has been improving all year. Alabama wins.
Improving all year???? Alabama has been inconsistent on winning "big"all season. The only impressive win that they've had all year was against Florida.
Texas had a VERY easy schedule, struggled and barely beat their only 2 worthy opponents plus another that wasn't as worthy. (not to mention a lot of help from the officials and bonehead mistakes by their opponents at key times) You can't count on that in a title game against a foe like Alabama... Alabama will win, and win big.
Texas struggled with Nebraska's offense. Suh is smart, but McClain is smarter. In addition, Alabama has better secondary also. Texas does have Colt McCoy, but will he be able to stand up to Mt. Cody? Will he see Arenas coming from behind? Will he even see Barron watching his eyes? The answer is no. McCoy is smart but not that smart. And Texas' Defense? Good, but no SEC. Nick Saban will have his team prepared. Alabama wins this 28-10. ROLL TIDE!

Pitting Boise State against TCU proves nothing. I would have rather seen TCU play Oregon and Boise State play Florida. Then we would know how close these non-BCS teams are to really reaching the top. It appears the BCS teams won't play Boise State during the season, nor will they play them in the post season. Way to protect your preceived superiority. This way, no one can challenge your ego. If Boise State beats TCU, what does that prove? If TCU beats Boise State, what does that prove? This really stinks and I think it's time for the congress to get involved to level the playing field.
Congress does not need to get into football. They would change the whole thing. Look what they do to politics.
If you owned a business, and that business had a set of rules that guarenteed its success over the competition, congress would intervene. This is BIG business and the rules guarantee the bowl money keeps going to the BCS schools, which perpetuates their success. It is inherently unfair, and this country was built on fairness. I personally think that the BCS is one of the last "good ole' boy" networks still kicking out there.
Amen, trosenO. On the off chance (actually better than off) that TCU beat Alabama, can you imagine the very negatory effect on recruitment and $$$ deep in the heart of Dixie? Alabama, Texas,and the Florida schools understand the risk very well...and they would probably do just about anything to prevent it>

Smartest thing said on here so far. You're right. Texas is NO Auburn! You send your Longhorns into Jordan Hare Stadium to play the Auburn Tigers. I'm a Bama Fan. I don't want any more of that for a couple of years. Auburn and TN took Bama to the mat. LSU and FLA no contest in the end. Come play in the SEC and find out how average your Longhorns really are.

Yeah texas had close game with Nebraska but thats probably our only close game besides A&M. Alabama only has a running game, ask Auburn or Tenesse. Also it shouldn't be TCU because all you guys play are easy teams, thats why you guys lost to Boise State.

The more I read from Alabama people - the more I may have to root for Texas - though they don't deserve to be playing the BCS this year either - they won thanks to their field goal kicker - not Colt McCoy - so clearly he shouldn't be considered for the Heisman. Mark Ingram played a great game - maybe he will get it this year. I was so hoping Nebraska would win so that a really deserving team would make it to Pasadena. Instead, it's Texas. They got lucky and that's all there is to that.
Just a reminder for the Alabama people - you haven't won a BCS championship in the last 10 years. Florida won the BCS in 2006 and 2008 - Tebow won the Heisman in 2007 - Colt McCoy has never won it - Sam Bradford won it last year from Oklahoma - and Oklahoma didn't get anywhere this year at all and he was still the QB. We will see who wins it this year. Tebow went 22-0 - and while they lost to Alabama - they have a huge winning record to be very proud of regardless of the loss this past Saturday. He surpassed Herschel Walker's record - another huge accomplishment. So instead of slamming him - why won't you just appreciate him for the great player that he is????

1. Texas offense did not play bad; they were beaten by a great defense from a team with an incompetent offense. I live in NE but am LSU grad.
2. Alabama is a great defense with an excellent offense. Saban is best coach in college football.
