Let's see - Tebow won the Heisman - and Florida won two BCS championships - 2006 and 2008 - and Tebow has been nominated THREE times for the Heisman - which does not happen very often - so go ahead and knock someone just because you are some pathetic wannabe and neverwillbe. Plus - every year that the Heisman is awarded - he will be there to celebrate the new winner - because he has CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just because someone gives thanks to God or shows emotion on the field - you want to call him Teboohoo. Get a grip and grow up!!!!!

The problem with Florida was simple: They were running on the fumes of previous years. This season they only played one nationally-ranked team (LSU) and it was not pretty. And when they did play lower ranked teams, they kept Tebow in for the whole game to rack up BCS points with lopsided victories. The Tide did played several nationally-ranked teams and when they did play people like FIU and UTC, they played lost of second- and third-stringers to get them experience, even though cost Ingram a nuber of yards rushing, I'm sure.

And as far as Tebow's crying, I'm really not sure why anyone should find fault with passion. My differences with Tebow belong solely in the realm of attempting to bring his brand of fundamentalist religion into college football. I didn't have too much of a problem with it until he was repeatedly photographed in full football gear, including helmet, reading the Bible in an empty statement. There was also the issue of the repeated wearing of the infamous "kill Obama" Psalms verses in his sweat strips. That was a brand of fundamentalism that is closer to the Taliban than anything I am familiar with. He has said that he will continue to proselytize in the NFL in similar ways, even though it is forbidden by the charter. Religion has its place --- even evil fundamentalism --- but it is not in college football.

Bama won with class. Every play, every drive. Yep, I'm a Bama fan --- live in Tuscaloosa --- wife a UA big-wig. But Saban's emphasis on team-over-individual, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and no penalties or turnovers really rings of Bear Bryant. And I was in a restaurant when the Heisman was presented. People cried there too!

Boise State deserves a bowl game and I'd much rather see them than another team that has lost four, five or six games. But, they don't deserve to be in the championship game.

I saw Texas give up 39 points to A&M. I saw them squeak by Nebraska with a last-second field goal. I'm pretty sure either Boise or TCU would embarrass the hell out of the 'horns. Either one would be a much worthier opponent for Alabama than UT.

BJ you obviously know nothing about the Big 12. Texas-Texas A&M is always outside of whatever rankings are going on. It is an emotional brawl. There is no other game IMO that comes close except for Alabama-Auburn.

Nebraska has the #1 defense in the nation. But they have no offense to speak of. If it weren't for their special teams they would've had less than 100 yards of offense, perhaps less than 50 and 0 points.

Nebraska's defense was awesome, too bad you gotta have an offense to win. Championship teams never give up and make the plays that win games. Championship teams can also make mistakes but never let that carry over to the next play, they also are not poor losers.

Boise State has now won 26 straight regular-season games and 55 straight regular-season home games. AND... they got shut out of a BCS Bowl game last year. Will you people get over the fact that we play on a blue field? No-one has a record like Boise State. No-one.

uhh....playing one ranked team, at home, each season, doesn't qualify a team for an automatic bid on a BCS Bowl game.....do what Bobby Bowden did when he got to Florida State and take on anyone, anywhere, anytime, and then come back and we'll see about your wins/loses and if you're qualified for a BCS Bowl game !!

Florida State will play a good nonconference opponent but florida gators will not. florida will only play a cupcake nonconference schedule because they know that they suck. texas' nonconference schedule was also a cupcake schedule. GO TIDE steer wrestle those horns down.

Before you go touting Boise St vs Alabama, go look at the sizes and speeds of defenders and offensive players. To handicap it, you would have to give each 'Bama player a 30-lb sack of concrete to carry with him (and I don't think that would slow Ingram that much.)

I guess you missed the great Texas defensive performance against A&M, and their tremendous offense against Nebraska. And apparently you missed TCU's defensive rankings year after year. But then SEC fans have a hard time seeing anything outside their own conference. We'll just forget Alabama's performance against a Mountain West team in last year's Sugar bowl, too.

BJ, it nice to have something to hold onto that helps rationalize the week conference that Utah plays in. But, repeating over-and-over a one day win is like putting a blank under a weak floor to hold it up so you won't fall through. The floor is still weak and has a poor foundation and if not rebuilt, someday that supporting plank is just gonna give way and someone will break their neck. Perhaps, Utah was highly motivated to beat an SEC team because they had nothing to lose and a lot to gain. Perhaps, Alabama was less motivated because they had had a strong undefeated season and should have beaten Florida but didn't. Who knows? Utah deserves to be proud of that win but Utah is still standing on a poorly built floor.

Mark Ingram cried during his Heisman speech - does that make him a baby????? He could hardly utter a coherent sentence between sniffing and crying. Does that make him bad? No - he was just emotional in the moment - just as Tebow was at the end of the game against Alabama. I respectfully disagree retired40. Until a playoff is devised, then in any year the BCS Champion = National Champion. This year, regardless of how you feel about the current system, no one can seriously question that whoever wins on January 7 will be the best team in America.

If Texas is in that game I think a lot of people will question it.

I'm on here seeing how many people can argue about college football and the fact that the best team doesn't win that title, they are voted to that title. They get voted... they have a freaking show to vote on the teams. How is that not a joke? If college football is so "real" how come they just don't battle it out and let the best team win? That would make more sense. However, seeing as how many of you never graced the hallowed halls of a college, I wouldn't expect any of you to understand that.

Neither is Texas out of the Big 12. You line up TCU, Boise State, Oregon, Arizona, Oregon State, and Stanford (the one that showed up against Oregon and USC), and USC and you go 6-1 or 5-2..Throw in Cinncinnati and it gets even more interesting...

What a stupid exchange. It takes two to get a game and there's a lot more to it than just saying we'll play you. Schedules, revenue, is it a one time deal? Home and Home? How long do we agree to do this? Our wishes mean very little to any of our favorite schools.
