none of you have class. you must be from alabama! tebow has more class than any player on bama's team. did you see the two black guys on bama's team. absolutely no class! but what do you expect!
ROFL wow. "shut the hell up! did you see the two black guys on bama's team? what do you expect!"
That's classy?
You know, I bet julie was crying right along with him. I bet her husband's smacking her around tonight in her single-wide trailer because he was so upset, he was crying too. She'll have to make an excuse for the black eye when she goes to work at the Waffle House in the morning. How's that for class?
Boo-hoo, my team lost! You know what, I excuse Tebow for crying. I personally love the guy, and his morals and values, and I'm sure most Alabama fans and probably ALL of the Alabama players do! Alabama is a state rich in Christian values, and Tebow is the epitome of what Bama stands for. Plus, some of the Alabama players are FROM FLORIDA.
Oh Julie, Julie my dear. Perhaps you need to re-enroll in an etiquette class. Or are you aware of that concept? Please don't shame your players who played with class. Did you hear Teboe's comments at the end of the game?
Florida sucks???? Let's see - Tebow won the Heisman - and Florida won two BCS championships - 2006 and 2008 - and Tebow has been nominated THREE times for the Heisman - which does not happen very often - so go ahead and knock someone just because you are some pathetic wannabe and neverwillbe. Plus - every year that the Heisman is awarded - he will be there to celebrate the new winner - because he has CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just because someone gives thanks to God or shows emotion on the field - you want to call him Teboohoo. Get a grip and grow up!!!!!
The problem with Florida was simple: They were running on the fumes of previous years. This season they only played one nationally-ranked team (LSU) and it was not pretty. And when they did play lower ranked teams, they kept Tebow in for the whole game to rack up BCS points with lopsided victories. The Tide did played several nationally-ranked teams and when they did play people like FIU and UTC, they played lost of second- and third-stringers to get them experience, even though cost Ingram a nuber of yards rushing, I'm sure.
And as far as Tebow's crying, I'm really not sure why anyone should find fault with passion. My differences with Tebow belong solely in the realm of attempting to bring his brand of fundamentalist religion into college football. I didn't have too much of a problem with it until he was repeatedly photographed in full football gear, including helmet, reading the Bible in an empty statement. There was also the issue of the repeated wearing of the infamous "kill Obama" Psalms verses in his sweat strips. That was a brand of fundamentalism that is closer to the Taliban than anything I am familiar with. He has said that he will continue to proselytize in the NFL in similar ways, even though it is forbidden by the charter. Religion has its place --- even evil fundamentalism --- but it is not in college football.
Bama won with class. Every play, every drive. Yep, I'm a Bama fan --- live in Tuscaloosa --- wife a UA big-wig. But Saban's emphasis on team-over-individual, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and no penalties or turnovers really rings of Bear Bryant. And I was in a restaurant when the Heisman was presented. People cried there too!
Glad to see Boise State getting some props, with 13+% of the vote, although it's hard to go against Alabama. But Boise State certainly deserves a BCS game.
Boise State deserves a bowl game and I'd much rather see them than another team that has lost four, five or six games. But, they don't deserve to be in the championship game.
I saw Texas give up 39 points to A&M. I saw them squeak by Nebraska with a last-second field goal. I'm pretty sure either Boise or TCU would embarrass the hell out of the 'horns. Either one would be a much worthier opponent for Alabama than UT.
BJ you obviously know nothing about the Big 12. Texas-Texas A&M is always outside of whatever rankings are going on. It is an emotional brawl. There is no other game IMO that comes close except for Alabama-Auburn.
Nebraska has the #1 defense in the nation. But they have no offense to speak of. If it weren't for their special teams they would've had less than 100 yards of offense, perhaps less than 50 and 0 points.
Nebraska's defense was awesome, too bad you gotta have an offense to win. Championship teams never give up and make the plays that win games. Championship teams can also make mistakes but never let that carry over to the next play, they also are not poor losers.
Boise State has now won 26 straight regular-season games and 55 straight regular-season home games. AND... they got shut out of a BCS Bowl game last year. Will you people get over the fact that we play on a blue field? No-one has a record like Boise State. No-one.
uhh....playing one ranked team, at home, each season, doesn't qualify a team for an automatic bid on a BCS Bowl game.....do what Bobby Bowden did when he got to Florida State and take on anyone, anywhere, anytime, and then come back and we'll see about your wins/loses and if you're qualified for a BCS Bowl game !!
Florida State will play a good nonconference opponent but florida gators will not. florida will only play a cupcake nonconference schedule because they know that they suck. texas' nonconference schedule was also a cupcake schedule. GO TIDE steer wrestle those horns down.
Now that UF is out of the picture, let's hope Nebraska wins tonight so we can see Boise State - Alabama in Pasadena. It might be more interesting than many expect...
What an incredibly STUPID question? Alabama just beat, rather convincingly, the #1 ranked team in the nation. Do you really need to ask???? But then again, it is college football, so who really cares ?
How about that Alabama football team!!!Out played Florida STRAIGHT UP,in EVERY aspect of the game!!SOUNDLY whipped them.yes, they DO deserve to be no.1!!Because they ARE no.1
This is Bama's season, all the way. Florida deserved the drubbing it got. Tebow, enjoy your Sophomore Heisman, because there's not another one in your future! You have been SABANized!
He will enjoy his Heisman - the two BCS Championships - and everything else he has accomplished in his simply stellar college career - because he knows at the end of the day that football is just a game. What is it about people that makes them slam others just to make themselves feel superior??????? Actually, it just makes you look stupid.
LOL. Funny. But, the discussion is on "football" and not "futball". Of course, you might fight a good futball player available out in New Mexico. I'm not sure she has a team at the moment.
Before you go touting Boise St vs Alabama, go look at the sizes and speeds of defenders and offensive players. To handicap it, you would have to give each 'Bama player a 30-lb sack of concrete to carry with him (and I don't think that would slow Ingram that much.)
I sure hope Bama doesn't play Boise or TCU--we want to beat TEXAS for a no-doubt STRONG national championship against a worthy, quality opponent--not just an all-offense no-defense team from a weak conference....
I guess you missed the great Texas defensive performance against A&M, and their tremendous offense against Nebraska. And apparently you missed TCU's defensive rankings year after year. But then SEC fans have a hard time seeing anything outside their own conference. We'll just forget Alabama's performance against a Mountain West team in last year's Sugar bowl, too.
What about Texas' "great defensive performance" with Rice, gave up 59 points. And ? tremendous offence against Neb.,they won by 1 point. He played LIKE A FRESHMEN would've,hahahahaha
BJ, it nice to have something to hold onto that helps rationalize the week conference that Utah plays in. But, repeating over-and-over a one day win is like putting a blank under a weak floor to hold it up so you won't fall through. The floor is still weak and has a poor foundation and if not rebuilt, someday that supporting plank is just gonna give way and someone will break their neck. Perhaps, Utah was highly motivated to beat an SEC team because they had nothing to lose and a lot to gain. Perhaps, Alabama was less motivated because they had had a strong undefeated season and should have beaten Florida but didn't. Who knows? Utah deserves to be proud of that win but Utah is still standing on a poorly built floor.
The Gator Nation is alive and well and always will be. They are not fair-weather fans - they are true blue Gator Nation followers. Mark Ingram cried during his Heisman speech - does that make him a baby????? He could hardly utter a coherent sentence between sniffing and crying. Does that make him bad? No - he was just emotional in the moment - just as Tebow was at the end of the game against Alabama. That doesn't make them cry babies - just people who wear their emotions on their sleeves - which by the way isn't a bad thing or the end of the world. Ya'll need to grow up.
Bass1952,please! Texas has managed to score a whopping 10 points in 3 1/2 quaters and allowed 9 to the cornhusker o.The SEC rules, watch the bowls and get a dose of reality.
I just realized that in my posting above that says that I hope Bama plays "Florida", I meant to say "Texas". Guess I was so excited that I flunked the proofreading class.
Bass, as an FSU fan, you should remember that Bama beat the team that beat FSU. Of course, we are all free to support whichever team we wish--unless a Bishop threatens ex-communication if we don't support HIS team.
Alabama played a wonderful game tonight. Their players take the game to a higher level when they are motivated and prepared. While Cincy, TCU, Boise St, and Texas all deserve a chance, I feel that Alabama will need to play Texas to get 'proper' credit for being national champions (if they win). I believe that Alabama can beat any of the BCS teams if they play like they did tonight. Roll Tide.
Who could have been beaten by Washington State? Both Alabama and Texas won ; Alabama soundly over Florida and I think Nebraska is a bit better than Washington State.
I respectfully disagree retired40. Until a playoff is devised, then in any year the BCS Champion = National Champion. This year, regardless of how you feel about the current system, no one can seriously question that whoever wins on January 7 will be the best team in America.
I think the best team should be ranked #1. NOT the team that will sell more tickets and make more money. College football is a JOKE. And the fans are losers.
Mandie, I would guess that you are a fan and therefore you're a loser. You better go back to bed before mommy and daddy catch you up playing on the internet.
So, why are YOU on a college football page? If you don't like it, it's like TV; there is an "on" and "off" button. You have free-will to make a choice.
I'm on here seeing how many people can argue about college football and the fact that the best team doesn't win that title, they are voted to that title. They get voted... they have a freaking show to vote on the teams. How is that not a joke? If college football is so "real" how come they just don't battle it out and let the best team win? That would make more sense. However, seeing as how many of you never graced the hallowed halls of a college, I wouldn't expect any of you to understand that.
I see many of you faulting Texas because they won by only one point tonight. Remember the week,(two weeks ago) when Alabama had to do the same thing against LSU? Last play heroics?????Still counts as a big win!!!!!!! The Alabama-Texas match-up will be a great event. Unless some of the crazy polsters start acting like jerks and pick someone out of leftfield over Texas. These two teams have won me over and I am an OU fan looking to next year.
BJ, it is very obvious that there is only one accurate opinion or way to do anything and it is YOUR way or else. Get over yourself; a win is a win is a win. Go bj your hot air somewhere else.
So why does an Alabama fan want to play a boring Texas team for the national title? I thought the creampuff games were at the first part of the season.. Why not step up and play a real team, like TCU, Boise State, or Cinncinatti? (Answer: because the prospect of losing is so daunting).. Heck, I think you would have your hands full with Oregon...
TW..you know full well 'Bama is not going to risk all that tradition, all that recruitment, and all that money dabblin' against the Wild West if it can possibly help it. Neither is Texas out of the Big 12. You line up TCU, Boise State, Oregon, Arizona, Oregon State, and Stanford (the one that showed up against Oregon and USC), and USC and you go 6-1 or 5-2..Throw in Cinncinnati and it gets even more interesting...
What a stupid exchange. It takes two to get a game and there's a lot more to it than just saying we'll play you. Schedules, revenue, is it a one time deal? Home and Home? How long do we agree to do this? Our wishes mean very little to any of our favorite schools.
Don't forget BYU, Oklahoma got whipped by them. Knocked out the Heisman winner. It could have been Flordia or Bama too.... who knows? Get a damn playoff system to shut everyone up for a few seconds, till there is another flaw!!! It never ends.
Where are all the arrogant Florida fans
Hey twoody did you see tebow a** crying? There's no crying in FOOTBALL!!!
I would cry too if i had 22-0 and lost
shut the hell up! you must be a bama fan!!!!
none of you have class. you must be from alabama! tebow has more class than any player on bama's team. did you see the two black guys on bama's team. absolutely no class! but what do you expect!
You're talking about class, and you have to bring race into it? That is incredible.
I'm sorry your team got stomped, but Alabama played a great game and won.
ROFL wow. "shut the hell up! did you see the two black guys on bama's team? what do you expect!"

I can finally vote -- clear #1 Alabama.
Yea where are all the gator fans
In bed, CRYING like Tebow. Now it's Colt McCoys turn

Alabama will never get over Texas, I'm a Florida State fan so it does not really matter who wins now, but I'll pick Texas to win it all...........
I hope Bama does play Florida but, Texas has to beat Nebraska first and at the moment they are ahead of one point.
Bass1952,please! Texas has managed to score a whopping 10 points in 3 1/2 quaters and allowed 9 to the cornhusker o.The SEC rules, watch the bowls and get a dose of reality.
Texas beats Nebraska with last-second FG LOL
I just realized that in my posting above that says that I hope Bama plays "Florida", I meant to say "Texas". Guess I was so excited that I flunked the proofreading class.
Bass, as an FSU fan, you should remember that Bama beat the team that beat FSU. Of course, we are all free to support whichever team we wish--unless a Bishop threatens ex-communication if we don't support HIS team.
Texas is fodder for Bama's defense. They don't stand a chance.
Alabama played a wonderful game tonight. Their players take the game to a higher level when they are motivated and prepared. Beating Texas will prove nothing. Tonight they could have been beaten by Washington State.
Who could have been beaten by Washington State? Both Alabama and Texas won ; Alabama soundly over Florida and I think Nebraska is a bit better than Washington State.
You are never going to find a national champion by playing bowl games. You need a elimination tournament.
I respectfully disagree retired40. Until a playoff is devised, then in any year the BCS Champion = National Champion. This year, regardless of how you feel about the current system, no one can seriously question that whoever wins on January 7 will be the best team in America.
If Texas is in that game I think a lot of people will question it.
A "lot of people" can question until the cows home...you would anyway, regardless of any system that doesn't bend to your will.
In a system where we let computers and hand picked voter's ultimately decide our title game, I agree, any champion really is just a paper champion.
I like college foodball better than the NFL anyday, it's real

BJ, it is very obvious that there is only one accurate opinion or way to do anything and it is YOUR way or else. Get over yourself; a win is a win is a win. Go bj your hot air somewhere else.
All season long I've voted Alabama #1 and written my justification for it only to be slammed repeatedly by Florida fans. Where are you tonight buds?
Some of their fans have been a bit "in your face". Tonight, give them some privacy during their mourning period.
OK King or Queen Blues, you pick the teams that Alabama will play and we'll take them on one at a time. Would that make you happy?
TW..you know full well 'Bama is not going to risk all that tradition, all that recruitment, and all that money dabblin' against the Wild West if it can possibly help it.
