No I don't think so, as long as these teams are allowed to pad their victory margin with out of conference schedule these two will continue to win, and vy for the national championship.
College football should be forced to use the NFLs scheduling program where college out of conference schedule would be against teams rated in their bracket, thus the winner (BCS Champion ) would play the A/P, or Coaches poll number 2,3,4,5 from the previous year for their out of conference schedule.
A few years ago the writers were predicting USC to blow out Texas. We love to be the underdogs. :)
The SEC isn't what it is cracked up to be. Texas will beat either one of them!
Let TCU play the loser and they will both be defeated and then we can all get some rest from all the SEC hype!
Just two words about bama and florida ( no respect for either school.). They $UCK! Inever see them play anybody else except for a bunch of PANSIES! Why, don't they schedule BIG SCHOOL'S for there conference play. Hell, for that matter they ALL should. I can understand the school's will play some of the smaller school's, it would give the TCU'S of the world A REAL fighting chance.
Go, TEXAS LONGHORNS!!!
you guys are a bunch of idiots!!! I hope ya'll tune in to see the National Title Game on Dec 5th. Which ever wins that game will throttle Texas. No point in even mentioning TCU, Cinn, or Boise. Give me a break and stop watch the games through team colored glasses. Those two teams will beat any team in college football right now.
Texas, your only hope, the winner of the game suffers several injuries.
Both Bama and the Gaters had a last minute reprieve against unranked teams and could have lost at that time. It will be a different game against the Longhorns. Just watch.
The Texas fans remind me of the Ohio State fanatics a few years ago before they got drilled by the SEC two years in a row.
Any team in the SEC could beat Texas pretty easily (besides Vandy). There really isnt point of playing an extra game against Texas after the REAL national championship game. Everyone knows that if you want to watch real football, you need to come on down to th southeast.
Talk all you want.....You'll be crying , just like the overrated USC Trojans, cried in 2005, The same Trojan team that beat "EVERYBODY"....remember....RR
Hey Tex 31, Colt McCoy is not Vince Young and I recall that game going down to the wire. A healthy Bradford and we wouldn't be having this discussion. And James, I wouldn't say much about close rivalry games, would take Auburn or FSU over that pesky A&M any day. They are a good team but not as battle tested which makes a difference. Until big 12 North gets respectable again it is a disadvantage to whoever wins the south, ask OU. And yes Robert USC did beat everybody in a weak Pac 10 and a weak Notre Dame. Perhaps the Big 12 and the Pac 10 have a lot in common. What they also have in common of late is not beating good SEC teams, only each other. The first team talent is pretty even, the depth is the killer.
Joey(who wrote the article),
Let me get this straight....the SEC playoff game will be the "real"
#1 and #2 teams and the BCS game in January is just for show.
Just for fun, let's assume The Longhorns win in Dallas this Saturday and are invited to the "Letdown Bowl" on Jan 7.
Let's also assume these Texas underdogs have the temerity and gall to show up for this meaningless spectacle of a game against the latest "team of the decade".
Let's also assume 'McCoy and Company" take care of business and walk out with the trophy.
What then, Joey? We would all know who was #1 and who came in SECond.
Keep on telling yourself it can't happen.
Keep believing articles like this SEC fans. If Texas wins their game this weekend, they will be glad to take the NC trophy. Go back to the 2006 Championship game. According to people who write articles like the one above, USC was the best ever, gonna roll the Longhorns. We took that NC trophy back to Austin.

Yup, Texas is in for an eye-opener...they havent faced anyone like bama or florida, unlike the winner of the SEC CG.
