so, ... #1 vs #2, what you are actually saying, is that this is the real national championship game, and then some time later in January (ridiculously late, in my opinion), the winner will have to run over some wanabe from out west or up north somewhere to 'officially ' win the title that we all know was over with this game...
And it will be No. 1 vs. No. 2 every year as long as the SEC refs make sure the top two conference teams never lose conference games during the regular season.
Absolutely as well as the ridiculous BCS ranking system which fails to penalize teams that play weak out of conference, out of division schools late in the season in order to pad their stats without penalizing their rankings.
bloggit, if Alabama wins I guess they can thank their lucky stars that they won't play Utah from the Mountain West conference. Utah isn't even from a BCS conference and they easily ran over SEC #2 Alabama last year. I bet TCU would run over Alabama this year if they got the chance to play them, which they won't.
TJ - too bad you don't have a good sportsman-like attitude. Why pick on the SEC refs? Do you honestly believe that refs in other conferences are any different than what you perceive the SEC refs to be?
I would just like to say that here we are again with a #1 vs #2 and no matter what happens one of them is going to miss the BCS Title game. This happened with Ohio State and Michigan a few years ago as well and once again it proves how ridiculous the BCS is. They really need to get on board with a playoff system for the top 12 or top 16 teams.
