Florida coach Urban Meyer says he plans to coach the Gators "as long as they'll have me."

Of course Coach Meyer won't go to ND there is no way that ND would let the type of players Meyer would want to bring in "Academics" I am not a ND fan however this school should be admired and respected for wanting students that can pass a real test. and graduate.

And, as a result, ND will never be competitive again. Urban Meyer, Les Miles, Pete Carroll etc would be fools to leave their jobs for ND. ND is a great school, but the football coach is judged on his wins and losses. ND is no longer a great football school. Getting a top tier coach will be a real struggle for them.

I agree with you btone at ND they are true STUDENT FIRST athlete SECOND.The NCAA loves to spout about Student/Athletes however at Florida,Bama and LSU it is the other way around.

Good candidates would be Greg Schiano of Rutgers which is in the top APR rate for student athletes and Brian Kelly from Cincy.

This is why they should keep Weis. ND isn't going to lure an Urban Meyer or Pete Carroll-type.

For everyone who thinks Brian Kelly is the next best thing, I say he's just another Rich Rodriguez with less accomplishments. ND should go after someone who is proven and who is GUARANTEED to be better than Weis. Otherwise they should give him another year.

Meyer lips say "no", but his wallet says "yes please and where do I sign?" Those of who ask why go to ND? The chance at coaching immortality bring back ND after all these years that is a challenge and a chance at greatness. The other reason to leave Florida? No more Tim Tebow. Meyer only snag is that he has 24 player arrests, and he is out of the SEC aka Schooling Every Criminal.
