May I be the first here to congradulate Jimmie and his team. I wish our government could learn something from this. With teamwork you can move the world.
Congratulations, to Jimmy. I guess I'm old, because when I look at that photo I see nothing but Sprint logos - was he actually driving a car? I don't even know what he was driving - sorry, not enough of a fan to be able to tell the cars apart today. Not one word mentioned in the article about what he drives either. I guess the cars are the least important part of the race today. I miss the days of the 60's and 70's when NASCAR actually used Stock Cars. You could darn well tell what a Ford, Chevy, Dodge or Pontiac was without having to look for a little logo on the nose of the car. Nothing like seeing a driver pull into the winner's circle, jump out, and pull a pack of cigarettes out of his breast pocket and light up while the cameras clicked. And no one put 3 different sponsor hats on him while they did it. Well, they have a Japanese car racing now, it will never be the same again.
Way to go Jimmie. Hendricks Motor Sorts and Chevrolet..... I hope GMC will take this opportunity to showcase their cars.
My only suggestion to GMC is try to do something with the interiors on your cars ... every time I look at one ....all I can think of are the interiors look like Little Tykes kids toys and so gimmicky.
And my only suggestion to Jimmie and Hendrics is Enjoy and keep up the ggod work ... you guys are fun to watch.
PS. I was following a Roush Mustang to work this morning and thought wouldn't it be cool if there was a Hendricks custom Camaro?
Yeah Right!! He also will pick up another cool $16,000,000.00 for winning the championship. If my math is correct, this will make $64,000,000.00, plus or minus, that he has collected from championship wins alone. This, in addition to what he has won over his driving years and years of endorsements, he must be worth about a quarter of a billion dollars. Do you fans of this sport realize that these guys are laughing all the way to the bank each year, because you fans continue to purchase those very expensive tickets and support the sport??? These guys are living the good life while some of you are barley making it and your still handing over the money and support each weekend or so? Sports of any kind in this country has turned into nothing but a hugh money game.
JIMMIE CAME UP THE HARD WAY... WORKED HIS WAY TO MILLIONS,.... IT WASN'T JUST HANDED TO HIM.
Be happy when someone else is blessed through hard work and success.... and if you don't think it is hard... I guess we'll see you out on the track next season to knock him off his thrown.

WTG Jimmie! This feat is not to be underestimated. If private industry could learn from this we would all be in better shape.

Another "Class Envy" Case.
