Kansas officials are willing to talk with former players about allegations of abusive behavior by football coach Mark Mangino - and two former players had plenty to say on Thursday. Meanwhile, the coach said there were "people who are embarrassing this program just for their 15 minutes of fame."
Kansas coach blames bitter parents, players

What football coach hasn't gotten into a player's face when he has screwed up. These are D-1 football plaers not pre-schoolers on the playground. Coaches coah, players play. Each has a job to do and sometimes it is not pretty. Give the coach a break.
Having played college football (and also having heard "war stories" from a brother that played in the SEC), I am shocked.
Shocked at the lack of, shall we say testicular fortitude, of today's college athlete. Heck, I've heard stories worse than this from guys that played high school ball in Texas. Do these former (and current) players really think that in-your-face yelling and emasculating verbal assualts don't occur at other schools? It is supposed to be a means of motivating you by getting your blood up and wanting to throw those words in the coach's face...apparently that's lost on his players.
Although the apparent spineless character of his players would explain the rapid decline back to mediocrity that the KU football program has taken. At least they'll always have 2007!
These guys would never make it in the marines---boo hoo!
Leave Mangino alone....the guy has been a good coach for a long time. If this kid(s) can't handle being yelled at, he should quit the football team and join the color guard.
Also, no one has mentioned what this kid(s) did...there are 2 sides to every story and I'm sure Mangino didn't yell at him for the heck of it...so don't pass judgment.
