Andre Agassi is responding to criticism of his crystal meth use with a plea for compassion, telling "60 Minutes" he needed help when he took the drug while depressed in 1997.
Agassi upset by Navratilova's criticisms

Who cares about Agassi? He was a tennis player. That's all. It's not like he was someone important who saved a life, invented a cure for cancer or anything else worthwhile.
I care about Agassi. I am not much of a tennis fan; however I am glad he spoke up about his fall. Believe me that his book will help some people. If it helps one that he admitted his HUGE mistake then great.
with all the charities he's involved in, I'm sure he's done more for mankind than you or I buddy.
asinine, truly
America goes to the press! What ever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? Roger Clemens has never been proven to have taken illegal drugs. At this point it is hearsay at best and the media has hyped it to the point that even if the trainer came clean, people would still tar Clemens with cheater label.
Again, who cares? he is trying to sell a book that no one will read anyways.
just go away, he dosen't need anything, he got money and a great wife, and life
just go away................
Leave my MAN Agassi alone, Navratilova. You dont have any room to talk. And you dont want to go there.
Just so that we're clear here-Andre Agassi should be stripped of any awards and credentials relating to tennis past, present and future. It is not just Martina Navratilova that is offended-any player that claims to hate the sport that they also promote for their financial gain is like flash paper, only to be here for a moment and ultimately waste our time.
Andre Agassi has brought shame upon an international sport, and I promote the international 'wiping of the record' regarding this and any other player that cannot look beyond themselves and see the worth of the sport that they play.
so you think he should be stricken from the record ancient egyptian style because he hated tennis in the 90s and can admit it. I believe it was common knowledge then that he was not committed to being all he could be in tennis. Hingis was on cocaine does she lose her grand slams too?
Wow, four posts on here and two are begging for Agassi to go away! You two ought to practice what you preach and ignore what you don't want to read. I bet you both read his book!
Martina, Martina, Martina...what if we all condemned you for being a lesbian? We might also claim that your manly tendencies gave you an unfair advantage over more "feminine" players. Oh wait, you were hoping for a little compassion?
Drugs are stupid but I don't see why this transgression in his personal life should mar Agassi's legacy on the court. Does Martina think tweaking made him a better tennis player or something?
Tell Martina to come clean from her taking steroids during her years in tennis.... oh yeah...and possibly that she was gay?
Mike, so what if Martina is gay? Are you not man enough to handle that?
Disgusting those people who want to use Martina's private life as an excuse for not being able to criticize Andre's deplorable behaviour. Pity Andre ,you destroyed your own greatness by confessing now already to lying about using drugs. You could have waited with this till your 100 Th birthday. Why now? But it is your life and you have to live with it, not us.
