That not what I ment the teams going to bcs bowls would be undefeated to that point noy a bunch of tied games.

it cant be "a tie between florida, texas.........." because to do that says the teams are equal. the ratings are meant to determine, subjectively, who is the best, 2nd best, etc.... because a team is undefeated doesnt mean they are equal to another undefeated team, or even a one loss team, e.g. usc. i dont believe boise st and cincinnati would fare well against florida, alabama or texas. i rank by if i had to bet on a team which would i put my money on. nobody would take boise state over florida....even money.......nobody.

Yeah...and nobody was betting on Boise State over Oklahoma in 2007 either, and we all know who won that game. BCS is the college version of corporate welfare, where the money schools rig the system so that mid-majors have to do twice the work to get a shot at just one BCS bowl...and have no shot at all at being so-called 'National Champions.' People make crap arguments about weak schedules, when its the 'power' schools that refuse to play strong non-conference teams.

Don't get me wrong, I can understand the logic... why risk losing on the smurf turf in front of only 30,000 fans when they can play some FCS team in front of 90,000 people. But that just emphasizes that college football has less to do with the American ideal of the best team winning it all, than it does with the Wall Street creedo of making sure the rich get richer, while making sure the poor can't play...

Man, I think you hit that one on the head!! All the more reason for those yokels to get on the Conference Playoff bandwagon for a chance to go to a Playoff Bowl, similar to what college basketball does. It would weed out the wannabees and posers to the real TEAM talent.

I am a die hard Alabama fan. I am proud of the way they have been playing but in all reality until Florida is beaten they should be ranked first. . . so Florida you got my respect. There are really only three contenders and the rest are pretenders. . .to be honest though Texas to me is a huge joke. It would be nice to actually see Texas strap on big boy pads one day and really play someone other than an overrated Oklahoma team each year. Stoops does a good job but Texas. . .come on play someone! A couple years ago you played Ohio State. . .got scared and dropped them to pick up who. . . Sam Houston!!! And please don't give me the crappy line of "what about Texas Tech?" Tech had one decent season and now evolution has proven them to no longer be worthy a real teams jock strap. And by all means don't begin preaching about OSU. . .you are kidding me right? If you claim either of those teams as strength of schedule you have proven yourself as a joke of a team. Bama will have had to play opponents such as Virginia Tech, LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn, and then to top it all off beat Florida in an SEC championship game just to get a chance to play for the title! Look Texas. . . .you cannot have a championship calibur team playing a mama tit sucking schedule. I am a admitted Bama fan. But honestly I have never seen any defense savage a team the way that Ole Miss's Snead was pounded. I heard it referred to as a "seal clubbing." If the Bama can do the same to Tebow (and I know of no real reason why they can't) Florida will have a lot of trouble on their hands.

McElroy is a solid technical quarterback behind an awsome line and with a with a could of good runners. Some of his decisions need a little work, but I think a lot of that stems possibly from Saban reining in some of the "check with me" calls.

But it's that Bama defense that should be giving future opponents sleepless nights. I want a picture of Mount Cody looming over Tim Tebow to hand on the wall of my den.

those teams must play up to get the recognition they believe they deserve. yeah they may be good but if you had to bet, even money, on a florida/boise state game, not many people are putting their money on boise state. florida, usc, alabama, texas, etc are there because they play in very strong conferences or schedule tough out of conference games (usc) and must beat numerous top 10 teams to win a championship. florida for instance beat #4 lsu, will have to beat #3 alabama then lets say #2 texas to win the championship. no one else can top that, especially the boise st, tcu, and byu's of the world.

Pleasssse USC,play PAC 10 and Big 10 with a side of biggest loser Notre Dame.Get a playoff in PAC 10/ BIG10.Lose some ranking for your terrible conference play in BOWL games.Get rid of the auto bids then you may see some serious contention.Right now Big 10/ Pac 10 do not deserve a team in the top 10. Top four should be Florida,Alabama,Texas,and LSU.

Florida is over rated. They have nothing but cupcake games except for LSU. LSU should not be in the top 20. Boise is not much better. Texas and USC have played against actual top ten team and have won. As usual, the SEC is overrated. The Only way a sec team will win the National title is if they play Boise.

BCS is over-rated. BCS-buster Bowl performance is 3-1 against those conferences who do nothing but whine about how their 'strong' schedules make them the 'real' deal...prove it on the field instead of using hocus-pocus polling to justify what is really nothing more than a money scam.

Roll Tide!! Losing by 26 to Florida State and having a weak schedule is why BYU isn't ranked high. True they beat Oklahoma, but season openers can be deceptive. I am glad Alabama squeaked by VT first game of the season. Vt has proved to be a strong team.

Let's see. Florida played Charleston-Southern, Troy, Tennessee and Kentucky. None of whom are ranked and only two of whom are in BCS conferences. It would be nice if they had a tougher schedule.

If given the right team and coach he would shine in the NFL. One thing that Tebow doesn't get credit for is his football smarts. He is an incredibly physical player but he is also a smart player. Yeah, Florida is on a romp, with quality wins over Charleston-Southern and Troy. Then they smash an unranked Tennessee and a conference 0-3 Kentucky. Finally their stunning 13-3 performance at an over-rated LSU. I say we just award them the national championship now, and save the sure embarrassment of a 41-7 loss to Boise State in the BCS Championship

It is better to have a quality conference like the SEC where great teams play each other and a playoff,than a lame Pac 10 conference with it's anal,sorry I meant annual winner (maybe) USC.By the way where are those sanctions for Reggie Bush.

Unlike the SEC, PAC-10 schools play every other PAC-10 school, every year. No time for patsies, and no need for a playoff, since the PAC-10 champ is always decided on the field. BTW PAC-10 went 5-0 in last year's bowl season.

And exactly how many SEC teams did they beat in bowl games? Enough said.
