"no one likes the Red Sox, except in bean town!" has to be one of the most ignorant things I've heard in awhile... maybe Amir does not watch baseball on TV or go to any other stadiums to witness the fact that sometimes there are more Red Sox fans present than home team fans! ...what a butthead
Doug- Not last night. I was at the game. Any time the few Red Sox fans tried to get their voice heard, they were quickly drowned out by the LOUD Angels fans. This was the loudest game I have ever been to except for a USC game in the Colliseum. The fans were on their feet much of the game screaming and cheering for the hometown team!

Red Sox will turn on the heat in the playoffs. Worst case scenario, a good series to watch.

Base running will be a big factor. Ellsbury is the best, but the Angels have more of them. The difference will be that the Sox catching situation is terrible and will do them in. Tech is over the hill and could not throw out his mother. Martinez has always been weak in that department. The Sox just don't have enough going for them this year and the Yankees proved that in the 2nd half of the season.
That said, I think the Angels have a better chance to beat the Yankees whom I despise being originally from the Boston area many years ago. How can a team like the Twins (60+Mil) pay role compete with a team that pay their three top free agents 53 mil and tam total of 208 mil. That's close to 4 times the entire Twins payroll. Detroit was the odd man out money-wise as they would have completed foursome as the top money dogs in the AL . Same economic problems in baseball, where a few have it all are not hurting and the rest have very little and will struggle. You can't expect the twins to survive this ongoing juggernaut.

Amir, clearly you don't like the Red Sox and that's fine. But to say that the Red Sox are the most hated team in baseball just displays your ignorance for all to see. You can see by the huge number of Red Sox fans at ball parks where they are playing that they are far from the most hated. I think the only team whose logo is displayed more often might be the Yankees.
Do the rest of us a favor, Amir. Just sit down and be quiet.
Red Sox and the Yankees are both hated by Angels fans, so why are we having this discussion on who is the most hated.

Hey-does anyone else find it a bit awkward that the Boston color commentator - Don Orsillo is one of the announcers. Neither Martinez or Orsillo seem to have any clue on the Angels team. Any compliment for the Angels seems to be a backhanded one.
At least our 3-4 #2 pitchers beat those 2 #1 pitchers that the Red Sox have! Ha!

Scary Angels are the Better team , L.A. crunches Red Sox's in 6. But who can stop those mighty Yanks ,will it be a blue piinstrip year ?!! "Nucleus Joe Giradi", a good Yankee catcher ,a Yankee team player and a very good manager deserves more credit...Ya think!? Mr. G.S. keep and give him a goorreat salary raise !!? Red Sox are a very good team, but not a great team. Same with Angels. Should be a good series. Hope Sox win but could go either way.
The Yankees? Don't like 'em, but admit they're a great team this year. Hard to see how won't win it all, darn it.
Games one and two have shown that the Angels will not be denied in 2009! Just another Halo Victory!
